Hmm i still think it is real, it's such an odd idea that, how would anyone randomly think to come up with it ? Many disbelieved the Mario and Rabbids crossover when it was first rumoured too.
Even if it's not real, there is definitely a Retro Studios-developed game yet to be revealed, and most probably will be released later this year.
I reckon if the Grand Prix game does exist, they're holding back until after this is out the door so as to not rob Ubisoft of their Starfox spotlight, i could well see it still being released this year, just towards the end of it.
People are concentrating too much on sales here, sure creating system sellers and games in series that sell the best is (and always should be) Nintendo's top priority at all times, they can't rely solely on them. The 'top tier' franchises are well catered for, it's why we see Mario, Pokemon, Zelda etc get games so frequently and receive many spin-off titles, Nintendo knows how to monetise their cash cows.
BUT for a console to be successful, it needs to have many games in many different genres, you can't just put out games all aimed at the same demographic and expect a healthy environment, the Wii is perfect proof of this (strong sales but attach rates weren't great, most companies didn't profit from it.)
Metroid is unlike any other Nintendo franchise and definitely does draw in gamers who likely won't buy a Nintendo console for Mario or Pokemon for example, those same gamers might go on to try other, more nice franchises like Fire Emblem so only concentrating on sales is only looking at things from one side, if Nintendo only pumped out Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Smash, Mario Kart and abandoned Metroid, Kirby, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Pikmin, they'd end up in the situation Microsoft are in, with increasingly tired franchises with people fatigued with Forza 102 and yet another Gears game.
@SamusLv7 Well i'm glad they don't solely make what they think fans want them to make as i really enjoyed the 2D Pikmin game, it's a lot better than the reviews made it out to be, sure i'd like them to listen to fans a bit more, but not exclusively, otherwise we'd never get games like Splatoon for instance.
I really hope there's still a few more games for the system, even if they're just ports, i would love the first Paper Mario, F Zero X and (less likely) a remake of the Virtual Boy Wario Land to see the 3DS off in style
@Romeo-75 Totally agree, the 3D effect still wows me even now, sadly i can't see Nintendo implementing it again any time soon, but in many ways, PS VR is the natural evolution of it, i've had mine since xmas and absolutely love it, the 3D effect coupled with 3D sound makes for a hugely immersive experience, so it's great to see 3D continue, just in a slightly different way
2D Zelda game (possibly a 3DS project moved across to Switch) Mario Sports title, probably Golf Pikmin 4 Retro's secret game Metroid Prime Trilogy HD A Paper Mario game A couple more Wii U ports, Wonderful 101 is the most likely, Project Zero would be very welcome.
@Faucet Oh wow you've missed some amazing games if you've skipped the 3DS ! i still play on mine constantly, probably more than the Switch tbh, i really would recommend getting one mate, you could get one pretty cheap now too, it's become one of my fave formats of all time, probably only second to the GameCube for me
Will be buying every one of these apart from Animal Crossing, i'm hoping a Paper Mario game is on the horizon though, would love to see the series return to its roots, we've had Zelda, Mario Tennis and Mario Party revitalised so fingers crossed it is the next one to get some love
Ahh sad day, i really wish we could have the option to use the Wii Shop music on the Switch's e-shop.
My fave games on Wiiware were Jett Rocket and both Lost Winds games, i really hope the rumoured Switch ports of Konami's ReBirth series happens as i didn't get around to buying them.
I also remember this game, and will definitely be getting it on Switch, i'm loving THQ bringing back games like this, they make a refreshing change to all the open-world games of today, i've always preferred linear games.
@Perryg92 It's not really up to EA thankfully, Krome Studios fully own the Ty IP, and they have actually stated they want to bring Ty 1, 2 and 3 to the Switch after remastering them for Steam, i really hope they do as i loved the first game but never played the sequels
I adore the 3D effect of the 3DS, i find it adds to the immersion of games greatlyi have it set to maximum and don't think i've ever turned it off, so i would love it to continue in some way, VR being the most obvious way, PS VR is the natural continuation of the 3DS in some ways, would love Nintendo to also keep the feature going.
One series i've not seen mentioned here is Alice, i would love Madness Returns to be ported to Switch, it's a real shame the EA of today is so different to the one that published games like this
It would have been cool if they'd added the option to play as red, green or purple toad too, heck why stop there, i'd love to play as Toadsworth too ! haha
Proud to say i'm a brit that's never bought a Fifa game in my life, its nice to see the rest of the country is finally broadening their range of games........slowly lol
Also, can we kill this ridiculous, stupid "port-begging" term ? !!!
We spend a lot of money on buying our consoles every generation, it's totally fine to want/request games that we'd like to see come to them, why it annoys some people is beyond me.
Bioshock Collection Arkham Collection (including Origins) Ni No Kuni 1 and 2 Dead Space Trilogy Mass Effect Trilogy Disney Afternoon Collection Darksiders Trilogy Plants V Zombies:Garden Warfare 2 (or a third game if it's in development) Unravel 1/2 Dishonoured Collection
Starting to really like the look of this game the more i see of it, and i never really liked the previous No More Heroes games, but i'm a sucker for 2.5D and top-down style viewpoints in games, this just looks pure fun to me
Thanks to everyone at Nintendo Life for providing all the great content you do, including Alex's awesome Youtube vids, this site is by far my favourite gaming site and i just love how you can feel the buzz of excitement on here during E3 or when a Nintendo Direct is taking place, long live Nintendo Life !
I'd welcome all of these, actually i'd welcome every single Wii U exclusive to come to Switch eventually, so i'd add these to the list -
Paper Mario:Colour Splash (a huge improvement over SS but sadly overlooked by many)
Fatal Frame 5
Kirby Rainbow Curse
Starfox Zero
Sonic Lost World
Nintendo Land
Nintendo Land i think could be adapted to Switch, and if online multiplayer was added, would improve it massively, add in a few new mini-games and it'd be one heck of a great port.
Similarly, Starfox Zero, if given traditional controls, online mp and came bundled with Starfox Guard plus the animated short that's on youtube, would be a nice little package.
Think i will get this digitally as they're giving double the gold points for it if you pre-order it on the e-shop, i never got around to buying the Luigi U content.
To add to what another poster said, i would love Nintendo Land to be ported too, with a few new games added but more importantly, online multiplayer, that would seriously improve the game, it was a travesty it didn't have it on the Wii U.
I'd also love games like Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101 and Paper Mario:Colour Splash to get another chance to sell, basically, i am loving all the Wii U ports and hope every exclusive it has comes to Switch eventually lol
I'm playing through Yokai Watch 1 right now and enjoying it immensely, i'm getting Psychic Spectres for xmas and having seen footage of Blasters, i will order that as soon as possible as it looks great, i have fallen in love with the series.
4 on Switch looks phenomenal, i can see it being the break-through hit for the series in the west, i just hope it doesn't take too long to be localised.
Reggie likes to use these phrases but as any Nintendo fan knows, clarity is not one of Nintendo's strong points lol
I do think an N64 Mini will appear at some point, but not likely for this year now, next year maybe, but a GB/GBC Mini is just as likely for then too, i'm more interested in a GameCube Mini though, imagine how cute that would look !
It's not the only thing that's shut down, the 3DS' Anime Channel has also gone, which i was surprised about as i hadn't seen any info about it stopping.
As much as i'm glad we've moved on from the Wii era, seeing this list still brings back fond memories, Wii Play was more fun then it had any right to be, i'd actually quite like it to come to Switch with some new joy-con exclusive games, the HD rumble still hasn't been fully realised yet i don't think.
I love mine, it's easily one of my fave systems of all time and i'm excited for Luigi's Mansion, Yokai Watch 3 and Kirby's Epic Yarn, i know realistically it has to die sooner or later but i still feel it has a little bit of juice left in the tank, i'd love a few more ports like the N64 Paper Mario and F-Zero X, they'd both look great in 3D.
I really hope a brand new Wario Land is the console's swan song, or, failing that, a remake of the Virtual Boy game, the rumours of a Link's Awakening remake still seem to linger too, if all these games were to come to fruition, i'd be very happy
So after this it's just Blasters 2 we're missing and then we've caught up with Japan, 4 looks amazing but i'm glad 3 is coming here too, i really like the Yokai Watch games and still love my 3DS so i'm glad we're still getting things released for it.

Re: Yo-Kai Watch Popularity Declines Sharply Against Steady Ol' Pokémon
I think 4 will give it a resurgence in Japan and could even be the game that makes it a breakthrough hit in the West, it looks that good.
I just recently finished the first game and loved every minute of it, already bought 2 and Blasters, can't wait to play them

Re: Nintendo Confirms It Has Unannounced Titles Set To Launch This Year, Delays Not Anticipated
My guesses are -
2D Zelda game (possibly a 3DS project moved across to Switch)
Mario Sports title, probably Golf
Pikmin 4
Retro's secret game
Metroid Prime Trilogy HD
A Paper Mario game
A couple more Wii U ports, Wonderful 101 is the most likely, Project Zero would be very welcome.
