They will certainly gain a new wave of fans if they keep producing ports of Doom's calibre for Nintendo's audience, i'd love to see Prey on the Switch next personally.
I had hoped Samus Returns would debut at a higher spot, i did my bit by buying both the Legacy Edition and the new amiibo's, so not everyone in the Uk has bad taste lol
The sooner Nintendo makes the Switch compatible with external hard drives the better, if this is going to become more common then they will have to do it surely ? i don't want to be switching between loads of micro sd cards once i've got lots of games, that is a faff on the Vita, don't want the same happening with Switch.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I can understand what you're saying, and i do agree the price should reflect that its not a recent release but i think the reason many people are picking your posts apart is purely because you've said louder than anyone else on here and more frequently (as you're entitled to, don't get me wrong) the need for Switch to have third party support, some is finally starting to materialise and yes, some of them are old ports, some not but after the Wii U's sad state of affairs i really think we're lucky that most of them are even dipping their toes in the water at this point, i think people are just happy to see this kind of game coming back to a Nintendo system, ultimately it's a very personal decision whether a game is at the right price to purchase it or not.
I think many a time you're on point with your criticisms of Ninty but on this point, it does kinda look like you're just trying to find holes in the slightest thing, Doom coming to Switch in its first year can only be a good thing, Bethesda could have easily said "nope, not even attempting a port on your new system Nintendo until we have at least a year's worth of sales data that it isn't the Wii U all over again" and you couldn't have blamed them really, same goes for every third party.
Sigh Trust some people to bring negativity onto a post that can only be 100% positive news.
I own a PS4 and Xbox One but haven't gotten around to buying DOOM yet so i'm really pleased by this news, and will be getting it for Switch for sure, for a long time now Nintendo's systems have been sorely lacking FPS games, i'd love to see this sell well so we can get even more on the system.
Why are so many people surprised this is getting rave reviews or has gotten a 10 from Chris ? This is Metroid we're talking about, one of the highest rated series in all of gaming, almost always featuring in top 10 lists everywhere, it's not that shocking lol
I knew the game would be awesome, cannot wait to play it myself, Metroid is back, hopefully for good this time !
I am praying that Samus Returns sells well, the game looks like it'll be fantastic, every Metroid fan that has been at a loss these past few years and demanding the series' return needs to put their money where their mouth is now, this and Prime 4 really will be the series' last chance i feel, if they don't do well then i don't think Nintendo will bother with the series again......scary thought !
I'm really glad all three Syberia games are coming to the Switch, i love point 'n' click adventure games, they're a perfect fit for the console too with its motion controls, i'd love Zack & Wiki and all of the Sam & Max games to get ported too !
I would love HOB to be announced for Switch, the game looks fantastic with a beautiful art style and Zelda-esque gameplay, it doesn't seem to be getting much coverage at all even with its PS4 release date looming, i'm sure announcing it for the Switch would bring it some much needed publicity.
@NF6429 I don't think we're allowed to add links to comments on here but just google 'Nintendo Switch Very.co.uk' and it should come up, they usually have the console on its own or bundled up so just pick whichever one you like best, they're really quick at dispatching items too, you just need to be approved for an account and then you can place an order
@NF6429 Hi, could you not order it from Very ? you'd get 10% off your first order and would have a year to pay for it, that's what i did, and got mine on launch day from them
Thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a game, been my highlight of the Switch so far as i wasn't expecting much from it, hopefully more Blaster Master games will come in time
@setezerocinco Ahh right, i thought you just meant you weren't sure if the Switch had one at all, sorry ! but luckily as roadrunner says, it isn't needed for this version thankfully
I enjoyed the demo of this and have the game pre-ordered from Very, looking forward to getting it, Pikmin is one of my fave series but i'm going into this knowing its a spin-off and not expecting it to beat the mainline games but i think i will enjoy it regardless, definitely like to make my own mind up on games so whilst i enjoy reading reviews they very rarely influence my buying decisions.
@zipmon Thanks for your review Morgan, really enjoyed it, i will definitely be adding this game to my 'to buy' list, just not sure when i'll get around to getting it, there's too many good games coming out ! haha
@Indielink @Highlar Yes, although its only the single player from the first game, multiplayer is just 2's content, i haven't played either of them so its great they're including it
Early adopters of this will get the story mode of Xeno 1 for free, if anyone didn't already know -
"gamers who purchase a copy before Oct. 3 will be able to unlock all 87 playable characters in the roster right off the bat. This includes "Dragon Ball Super" villain Goku Black, who was a preorder bonus in the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game.
Like players in the other consoles and PC, Nintendo Switch users will have to shell extra in order to get characters introduced in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" through downloadable content (DLC) such as Hit, Zamasu and Vegito.
What sets this version of the game from the PC and console iterations is that it will also include the Time Patrol campaign from the original "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" game along with Demon God Demigra.
Bandai Namco did point out that some elements of the said story mode might be a bit different in the Nintendo Switch version although there were no details provided as to how."
Hmm Cars 2 was an above-average movie tie-in and i really enjoyed it, this one is exclusive to Argos in the UK so may well end up being quite rare in a few years, think i will buy it
@Alucard83 I'm not sure that's true, Nintendo have been talking about adding GC games even since the Wii U games, if it wasn't technically possible they would just come out and say so.
Whenever the VC does eventually launch on Switch i just hope we finally get GameCube games on it, would be nice if they were touched up in some way to make them look good on modern tv's, putting them into widescreen at the very least.
Always been my fave Mario character, i've always wanted him to have a rival, a black Toad called Toadie is what i came up with, could imagine him hanging around with Wario and Waluigi haha
I'm guessing changing it from an always-online game with lots of regular updates to a more offline experience is probably creating lots of little bugs, hopefully they'll sort them out as i was planning on getting this on the Switch, if it doesn't come i'd love a new 1080 game Nintendo !
I'd love DLC, i think new maps for battle mode are needed, doubt we''d get new race tracks, also i think its time Toadsworth was added as a playable character, they could even give him a little electric scooter-type kart haha
Yeah i've heard it is good, i went straight to the multiplayer at launch and was hooked on it, it's very rare for me to do that, i'm almost exclusively a single-player gamer but it was so much fun, completely forgot about the campaign, so excited for 2, especially to try out the new horde mode
Metroid is the most sacred series in the world to me, still waiting patiently for pre-orders to go live, got a horrible feeling it'll happen on a day i'm busy and i'll miss out :/
@DEZn00ts Ok well its up to you how you like to come across i guess, though the admins won't take too kindly to you labelling people as fanboys, much better to put your point across in a civil manner so you can carry on enjoying the site and using its comments section without being banned.
Moving on, i just remembered i never even touched Splatoon's single player campaign so tomorrow i will be getting stuck into it before the second game comes out in a few weeks, also going to replay Metroid Zero Mission, will be nice to dust off the Wii U after being glued to the Switch since march
"I am NOT ignorant, people like you who call names online, being passive aggressive are."
"YOu are the moron here.I'm positive you are one of those dumb a$$es with selective memory because your favorite company is Sony... I can see a Sony fanboy when I meet one.
^ lol Not the best way to prove a point haha
I actually agree with this dude though that western third party support isn't impossible, like we had during the golden GameCube days but even if we do get it, it'll be slow to arrive, maybe next E3 if the Switch is still selling well we'll start to see increased third party Switch games announced.
@Jacob1092 I agree i'm not sure i'd want MP 4 to be open world, although i suppose you could have a mix of linear areas within a more open environment, but i couldn't imagine it being totally open, just wouldn't have the same sense of mystery or isolation i don't think.
Also, that moment in Fusion really was incredible, never knew a 2D game could give you such a sense of fear or dread up until that point
I like the look of this, if it does eventually release in the UK i would probably buy it, i do find playing in handheld mode slightly uncomfortable after a while
This is still the best M&L game in my opinion, and Bowser's Minions looks like a great addition, will get this for sure, probably not at launch though, too many great games coming out this year haha
If Nintendo really are serious about this then they have other franchises they can bring back to bolster their e-sports offerings, namely Battalion Wars and especially, Custom Robo, imagine a new Custom Robo game finally having robust online multiplayer with huge arenas and endless customisation options, it could be something pretty special !
The one EA franchise that is perfect for the Nintendo audience is Plants Vs Zombies:Garden Warfare, EA are stupid if they don't port 2, or create a third one on the Switch.
I think the game looks fun and i'm willing to give the devs a chance, remember that Rocksteady weren't thought of fondly before they made Batman:Arkham Asylum, or even Retro Studios were an unknown before the incredible Metroid Prime so it's always worth just taking a wait and see approach.
