Re: Editorial: Miitomo is Surprisingly Strange and Compelling

TeeJay

I think "strange" and especially "compelling" are words far too strong to describe Miitomo. It's not half as strange as, say, Tomodachi Life. And compelling? Debatable, I guess it's a matter of opinion. I think Miitomo is okay but nothing to scream from the rooftops about.

Re: Review: Bird Mania Party (Wii U eShop)

TeeJay

The first game was fun for a bit, but bored me after a little while. Didn't get the Christmas reskin of the game they released later.

This score seems a little generous. I feel like a 7 is the highest score it should get and even that is veing generous. It's just that at the same time, 6 seems too low.

Re: Research Firm Reckons Nintendo's Spent Nearly $527 Million on Research and Development This Fiscal Year

@Quorthon I just had a look in your profile at the comments you've made and 100% of them are Nintendo doom-and-gloom, putting things down, even positive things, and generally being extremely negative. From what I understand you released some game to positive reviews but virtually no sales and you seem sour about it.

So tell me, why on earth are you still here? Clearly according to you, Nintendo has gone down the craphole, one of which it will apparently never recover from ever. Nintendo has nothing left to offer you. Why stay here then? Why haven't you left for greener pastures.

Re: Review: Miitomo (Mobile)

@zool You keep saying it is more than a review but you don't iterate what exactly "more" is. In your mind, what is a review other than an opinion?

And what's more, in this particular instance this isn't even a game at all. It's a social app and everyone's experience with it will vary.

Re: Review: Miitomo (Mobile)

TeeJay

Well since this app only let's me interact with other people irl who also have the app who I have to add first, and not online friends, this means it'll be pretty useless to me. Nobody around me is very interested in Nintendo.

@zool Um, a review IS an opinion. I'm not sure what more you're expecting out of a review than an opinion. That last thing you said makes absolutely no sense at all.

Re: Official Miitomo Site Reiterates March 2016 Release

TeeJay

Nintendo....whenever they give a month they always mean the 31st at 11:59pm, and whenever they give a season for a release like, say, Summer, they actually mean mid-October.

@Olmectron No, it's supposed to be "its" without the apostrophe. You found an error even though English isn't your first language, good job!

Re: Digital Foundry Breaks Down The Improved Performance of New 3DS

TeeJay

I upgraded to the New 3DS for a few reasons: One was my old 3DS's circle pad was falling to pieces due to Smash BUT the main reason was this upgrade in specs. It took ages to do anything on the old 3DS after they added new features with update after update. It was starting to chug a bit.

I actually never had complaints or problems with the old 3DS's 3D effect and used it all the time so the Super Stable 3D wasn't a big selling point for me, and I never really noticed a difference in the 3D once I upgraded. I mean, other than the 3D effect not breaking when I set the system down while open but that is of no real use to me, lol.

I was excited for the exclusive content, too. The SNES VC was the first time I REALLY felt like I was finally getting worthwhile exclusive games. SNES was my childhood and I'd been wanting it on 3DS for years; it's a dream come true!

Re: Guide: Which Nintendo 3DS or 2DS System Should I Buy?

TeeJay

I understand people's arguments when they say they prefer the smaller size for better portability, but I'm sorry I simply do not see the appeal of the face plates. They are so jarring to look at and don't cover the whole system; just a bar of it, making it look like a widescreen movie or something.

I happily prefer my Gold Hyrule N3DS XL.

Re: Fooling The World With a 3D Printed NX Controller

TeeJay

I'm so beyond sick and tired of these elaborate fakes that are made just to make headlines and have their 2 minutes of fame.

I wish I didn't have to be so suspicious about everything all the time as a result. I'd rather just not have leaks period.

It's not fun. It's emotionally exhausting.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Was Wrong To Turn Its Back On The Wii Remote

TeeJay

I did not enjoy the Wiimote nearly as much as reagular controls. It was a strange setup and had less buttons to work with, the waggle was imprecise and the wii motion plus could only really be used to its full potential in very limited and specific circumstances. The only time I ever thought the wiimote enhanced my gameplay experience was in the Super Mario Galaxy games, where the pointer picked up starbits. Even the spin attack could have been relegated to a button press on a normal controller.
