99% handheld for me. I used to play docked a bit more (but always play led handheld a lot more than docked) but then slowly started docking it less and less. Now I can recall the last time I docked it.
I don't see why Nintendo couldn't just let us have usernames, and then allow us to assign a nickname to any friend on our friend's list so that if they happen to change their icon and/or "official" username, we still know who they are.
I got Tales of Vesperia. The only other Tales game I've played was Tales of the Abyss and I loved it, so I figured I'd enjoy this too. So far, I wasn't wrong.
Did some of the people commenting here stop looking any further into this game as soon as they heard it had Warriors gameplay?
It's literally a full canonical sequel. With the time management and building relationships and everything. Literally the only difference is that it has real-time action gameplay instead of being turn based again.
@scubydo It won't be split screen. One player will be the "leader" and the camera will mostly focus on them while everyone else has to try and stay in the same screen as them. You can switch leaders at any time but I still think it's going to be more annoying than split screen.
Oh! The title of the article worried me for a second. Thought I was about to hear some bad news about how the cafés are filthy roach infested places or something.
@JasmineDragon Usually random events and enemies in roguelikes can be either at least very difficult, or avoidable. Randomly dying through no fault of your own whatsoever is taking it a bit too far even for roguelikes.
@oatmaster If you pay $40 the tree in the middle of the plaza will grow so big that you'll get 2000 gem apples a day from then on (plus the 5000 you just paid $40 for) negating the need to buy any more.
Using those 7000+ gem apples you can purchase all the books that increase the rate of stamina recovery so you'll negate the need to wait as well. (Plus refilling stamina only costs 2 gem apples if you do happen to run out)
I downloaded the game through a friend's connected account and I gotta say, as someone who plays almost exclusively in handheld mode, this game looks absolutely terrible on the smaller screen. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the worst looking game in handheld mode that I've personally seen to date. I'm not even that big on visuals usually but this is REALLY bad to the point where it kinda actually ruins the experience. Everything looks so compressed and muddled, like a YouTube video that hasn't fully loaded yet. It's very distracting and I'm glad I didn't preorder or I would be pretty upset right now.
@Yasaal I use the Wallpaper Changer app. It's not the most stable app in the world though, occassionally the pics won't cycle or the picture is really small in the center of the screen with a black background.
So......does that mean it doesn't support being played in portable mode at all? Cause if so that is absolutely a deal breaker for me.
Just to be clear I've played the DS version and I understand why it wouldn't work on a traditional controller scheme. It has to do with the design of the game in a fundamental level. I'm disappointed it couldn't work but not disappointed in the dev team or anything. They did the best they could.
This seems like one of those games I'd rather sit out until the developers iron out the wrinkles. I'm interested and it looks fun, but the many niggling issues here and there add up to a big turn off.
This is actually one of those games I regret purchasing. I was desperate for games to play on my brand new Switch at the time and made the mistake of getting this one. I got bored like 5 minutes in.
Already have a GC controller and adapter, not interested in steelbooks. Definitely gonna get this digitally. I want this game available immediately to me at all times.
@FTPinkRabbit Uh, what gave you the idea this was a mobile port, exactly? I can't speak for O.K.K.O as I don't follow the news for that (though google searching didn't reveal any previous mobile game by that name) but Save the Light is a sequel to the mobile game Attack the Light. I know because I played Attack the Light.
Ah, I'm so glad I'm not forced to buy both if I go digital. Definitely gonna be checking out Save the Light! Attack the Light was pretty good, for a mobile game.
What version is the game supposed to be at now. And do I have to actually download the expansion as a separate thing as the article seems to be saying when it says "go grab the expansion" or no. I own the game but I don't see any indication that an expansion was downloaded anywhere.
I'm gonna be honest the clickbait is what's been driving me away from the site for a while now. Articles that take something someone said completely out of context and such. Damian in particular has been especially guilty of this I find, to the point where I could call exactly which article was written by him before I even click. His role shift has me extremely worried unless he stops trying to spin everything into a negative light to raise controversy.
The second thing is that you guys seem to be constantly a few days behind on a lot of the news, save for perhaps the biggest events like E3 news and directs. I'll find out about something on YouTube or other news sites and then see NL report about it a few days later. It's baffling.

This family tree is getting stranger and stranger. It's turning into more of a....family tumbleweed.
Re: Poll: Do You Play Your Switch More In Docked Or Handheld Mode?
99% handheld for me. I used to play docked a bit more (but always play led handheld a lot more than docked) but then slowly started docking it less and less. Now I can recall the last time I docked it.

You know when you report on PETA you're giving them what they want, right?
Re: Even The Man Who Wrote Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Sea Bass Joke Is Tired Of It
Why not have the little blurb appear the first time you catch that particular thing for the day, and then that's it until the following day.
That'd be so much better.
Re: Random: Do You Know About Super Mario Bros.' Secret Game Over Continue Trick?
Wow. Had no idea that was a thing.

We ABSOLUTELY want this game here.

Oh right.....Arms was a thing. I guess.

Yeah I'll stick with digital.

Why not make all of these articles about awards one article listing all the Nintendo-relevant awards
Re: Random: Is Nintendo UK Getting Cheekily Political With This Animal Crossing Poster?
I don't get it. Nintendolife is urging me to make my messages longer so I guess I'll say it again.
I don't get it.

Never played any of the Banjo-Kazooie games, cause I never owned an N64. Shame cause I can tell I'd have loved it.

Re: Surfing Pikachu Is A New Mode Of Transport In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! And Let's Go, Eevee!
They've put all the cool stuff in a game that's killed by how casualized it is. Cruel.
I hope this and the Pokemon following you around thing is in the next ACTUAL mainline game I've been holding out for.

There were probably some changes scheduled to go live right after the direct, and when the earthquake happened they forgot to cancel some of them.
