Miitomo

Nintendo's first official smartphone app, Miitomo, has been out in Japan for a few weeks now, along with the accompanying new loyalty program, My Nintendo. While the download numbers may have dwindled since its launch week, the app had a very strong showing when it made its big entrance, topping the storefronts on both iOS and Android. Obviously, the app still has yet to release in the rest of the world, but it seems that this is set to change in the next few days.

Nintendo originally announced the release for March of this year, but it shied away from using the word 'March' in more recent times, casting doubt on whether or not the app would actually hit the window of the initial announcement. It seems that it's still on track, however, as the official website for Miitomo recently was updated to reiterate the March 2016 announcement. Whether this will actually happen or not is anybody's guess, but considering that there's not a whole lot of March left, we'll find out very soon.
