Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets The Trailer We've Been Waiting For

SwitchplayerJohn

My biggest worry is this will be a labyrinthine puzzle/scan-athon with a bit of combat and boss fights, the desert is pretty much just lore, no real substance and everything is scripted set pieces instead of true exploration.

There will be no cool cosmetic unlocks for your bike, or upgrade trees or anything. We are 3 weeks away and I still feel how I did about BANANZA before the Direct blew open the doors.

Re: Switch 2 Has The Largest Third-Party Software Lineup Ever For New Nintendo Hardware

SwitchplayerJohn

Everyone is moving towards hybrid or portable gaming, Nintendo has really shown the way with that. And as more developers Taylor their games for that Switch 2 will benefits from it first.

Jensen from Nvidia went out of his way to make a video about the power of Switch 2, clearly proud of it. Nintendo are actually making cutting edge silicone, they aren’t just toy makers.

Re: PSA: Don't Expect Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition To Include The DLC

SwitchplayerJohn

Honestly this is not surprising, when the Zelda Switch 2 came out there was no DLC included with those. Let's face it folks the Switch eShop, the NSO benefits have not changed. This isn't Ubisoft where everything is thrown in at half price 6 months later.

If the +Expansion Pack proposition changes in the future they may choose to release an edition with DLC, but for now they are going on with the same as Switch 1.

Re: Microsoft On Its Gaming Business Going Forward: "We Want To Be Everywhere"

SwitchplayerJohn

Look, this is absolute BEST decision for Microsoft. Software and services is where the money is, when everyone was saying IBM hardware was where the money was, Microsoft let the OEM's fight for that space while they dominated as the single most successful and ubiquitous operating system (and still to this day) with Windows and of course Office.

Microsoft still has OEM partners making PC's and laptops and tablets for them, so they can be everywhere and still have own brand hardware.

The real challenge for Phill Spencer is will they yield their long built up Xbox ecosystem (Xbox Live, Friends, Voice Chat, etc) and their cloud gaming/Game Pass services to companies like Nvidia who seemed to offer a superior service? Or will they use their new freedom from home console hardware to double down on data centres and the Xbox feel and experience to be the GO TO cloud service?

Time will tell. But I think if they loose that entirely they are just another EA, Ubisoft, etc and the Xbox that famously took the industry by storm with the 360 will be dead.

Re: Xbox Reiterates Its Support For Switch 2

SwitchplayerJohn

I mean by all accounts Halo Remake needs allot of work, I am sure that is doubly so for Nintendo Switch 2. I would imagine Microsoft will want to properly announce the games in a Direct rather than total out of the blue on X. But you never know seems the only publishers that are in Directs are Japanese ones.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Play NES Games These Days?

SwitchplayerJohn

If they want to spice up Nintendo Classics without adding games or a console they already have the stuff ready. Add in the NES Remix levels and leaderboards to the NES sections, even could add world championship levels as well. Basically give people daily, weekly and monthly challenges and missions, reward with Nintendo Power articles, concept art, game manuals, etc. And then add this to SNES someday.
