I will admit that the UI is much nicer than I initially thought. It’d be nice if they brought back the photo and notes software apps like on the 3DS. That would be a nice way to utilize the mouse feature. But they’d probably rather charge for those 😤
Japanese, because it shows the most while still keeping things neat. I love how all the characters are shown, with Mario, Low Weegie, Wah Low Weegie, the magical turtle king, Koopa the Quick, and the rest being presented in such charming poses. It really makes the art come alive, and it feels so inviting and… uhhhhhhh, Wario? What are you doing?????
@Sylamp Honestly, I kind of feel the same way, though I’m more willing to spare them for being the earliest games in the series. Wii is where it all began for me, though. Both in terms of Mario Kart and gaming as a whole. I remember playing as Peach, thinking that she was the best character in the game. I miss those days. But yeah, I will never understand the people who think Super/64 are the best.
Tried these games on NSO, and Super Mario Kart was a nightmare. Mario Kart 64 was fine, but tough, and Super Circuit was okay, but definitely controlled oddly. Still decent games, but I don’t plan on coming back to them anytime soon. Probably.
@MrRom92 If you want it, that’s okay, but I absolutely disagree. Going back to having two separate consoles would be a pain both for Nintendo and its customers. You’d have to manufacture two consoles instead of just one, you have to split game development in order to make games for both, which would lead to worse games, and customers would have to buy both consoles instead order to have access to all the new games. It would be a horrible move imo.
@rvcolem1 Well they were mainly responding to someone who asked them about it during the Q&A. If they avoided answering the question, wouldn’t that bring in a heap of more drama?
@BrianJL Humanity has come so far with CGI. Toy Story (my favorite), Star Wars, LOTR, Lego Movie, The Last Airbender, The Thundermans Return… yep, it all came full circle.
@larryisaman I wonder what happened in the dreadful years of the 3DS and Wii U that led to Nintendo going as low as they did. And 2022 wasn’t great either (though I did enjoy Switch Sports for a bit, not sure what I’d think of it now).
@rvcolem1 They kind of have to, given that they’re being attacked from so many directions (although in some cases they have every right to be protested against; Microsoft raising prices isn’t one of them).
@Chlocean It’s likely they were going to release the Switch 2 as a Switch Pro, but decided to release the OLED model instead and release the Pro as a next-gen console.
This Switch 2 is pretty much what everyone wanted, so I don’t see why they have to defend their decision to not completely change the formula. And while it may not look like it, MKW and the like have a lot of stuff going on besides graphics and framerates. MKW has 24 racers per race instead of 12 with huge tracks to explore. DKB has so many environments that can be interacted with, and the fact that there are hardly any frame rate drops while the big monkey rampages through the world is impressive for a hybrid console. The only things about the console that really bug me are the seemingly basic UI and disappointing battery life. Other than that, I’m hooked.
@RenanKJ Not necessarily. The Switch is already extremely popular and has a huge install base. Making new entries in lesser-tier franchises for the console that’s cheaper to develop software on and has a successor that will play nearly all of it’s games would be a good way to boost interest in certain franchises without too much risk involved.
Breaking news: major Japanese video game corporation plans on continuing to make games for extremely successful console with an install base of over 100 million users even after its successor releases.
@speedracer216 As far as I know, you’re best bet is either getting a used/refurbished model or waiting for Black Friday. In general, I don’t think Nintendo plans on dropping the price, which sucks.
@Anti-Matter The problem is that to them, it’d be stupid to not do something like that, since it’s cheaper and can entice people to go all digital. But of course, that isn’t the case.
@MrDocena Yeah, it’s not new, but it seems like every third party game releasing on Switch 2 that isn’t Cyberpunk 2077 is either doing a code-in-the-box release or game-key card release.
@TheBigK Have you previously purchased a minimum of 12 month’s of NSO and opted to share gameplay data with Nintendo before the registrations went live? Those were some of the other requirements.
@TheBigK When did you register (it’s based on first-come-first- served, not on loyalty)? I registered last week, so I’m not surprised I haven’t gotten one, but it seems like practically nobody got one.
@Scarmucci Not entirely sure if you’re being sarcastic, but if not I was just referencing the sloth scene in Zootopia that you mentioned (Nick told the sloth a joke which led to the sloth taking even longer to finish whatever they were trying to do, so I was implying that telling jokes would lead to Nintendo taking even longer to send out invites).

Re: Random: A New LEGO Mario Kart 'Blue Shell' Gift Has Been Revealed
@-wc- You like weird but not Mario Kart because of a blue turtle shell with wings that tracks you down and blows up in your face… ok.
Re: UK Charts: Minecraft Makes Gains, But Clair Obscur Reigns Supreme
@smeggysmeg At least one person. Guess who?
Re: Random: A New LEGO Mario Kart 'Blue Shell' Gift Has Been Revealed
I can hear the sirens already….
Re: Random: A New LEGO Mario Kart 'Blue Shell' Gift Has Been Revealed
@-wc- The Spiny Shell’s been in the series since game 2. At this point, it’d be weird if it didn’t show up.
Re: PSA: You Can Use Mouse Controls On The Switch 2 HOME Menu
Minecraft should also become much easier to control on Switch. Not like I’m gonna play it on there, though 😁
Re: PSA: You Can Use Mouse Controls On The Switch 2 HOME Menu
@Serpenterror Oh please no. Let’s keep these two away from each other before they become bad influences to one another.

Re: Back Page: Mario Kart World's Roster Is Full Of Deep Cuts, So Where Are These Guys?
T-Rex, for sure. Also, Cappy last appeared in Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Re: Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Announced For Switch 2
@Mythra Sounds like someone misspelled “Xbox”. Jk, both have their place alongside Nintendo.
Re: Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Announced For Switch 2
Oh, almost forgot: where the heck is Tekken 8 for NSW2?
Re: Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Announced For Switch 2
So weird finally seeing Nintendo Switch 2 being listed as one of the platforms getting the game instead of just the Switch 1.

@Yoshi3 Is there a known reason why Nintendo doesn’t like to credit those who work in certain areas in development?
Re: Nintendo Says AI-Generated Images "Were Not Used" In Mario Kart World
@Purgatorium Oh man, if we got better billboards for $10 more, I can’t imagine what we’d possibly be given for $20 more. The item box?

@John_Deacon And much to everyone’s surprise , one of the few companies keeping the physical release alive is none other than Nintendo itself.

@tylerryan79 Problem: most other people wouldn’t pay more for a full physical release.

Hopefully wave 2 isn’t far off.

@Scarmucci Really??? Dang, that’s weird. Then again, most kids under 15 don’t know anything that’s not trending, so I guess it makes sense.

@Scarmucci Good, it’s not just me. I doubt I’ll get an invite, but at least there’s still a sliver of hope.
