Nintendo not releasing mini consoles is a result of their greed, since because the Switch consoles are doing so well, they can just bring back older games through their subscription service rather than offer a one-time purchase method in the form of mini consoles. The Virtual Boy situation is a perfect example - they knew they wouldn’t be able to sell a Virtual Boy mini console, so why not just sell an accessory that allows you to access Virtual Boy titles but requires you to own a Switch and a premium subscription? That way, they can grab those who specifically want Virtual Boy games without having to produce a Virtual Boy mini console that would be ignored at retail stores because no one outside of die-hard Nintendo enthusiasts cares about the Virtual Boy

@purple_shyguy That is such a dumb statement. Yes, pirating is stealing. Even if buying doesn’t necessarily mean owning, it doesn’t give you an excuse to gain access without paying. Look at rental vehicles. You have to pay for access, but you don’t own them. Does that give you the right to carjack them without paying? Nope. Same applies to games.

Wish they’d just come to some sort of agreement. Sick of this patent nonsense and all these Pokémon-lookalikes walking around and all this stupidity in general. Just get them to make their game more visually and slightly mechanically distinct and then leave it at that. No patenting of every near mechanic. Companies have a right to make sure their ideas are safe from being blatantly copied, but this is a situation where Nintendo is splitting hairs when it comes to patents. But, obviously, Palworld isn’t innocent here - they essentially ripped-off Pokémon from character designs to mechanics and had the audacity to act like they were being bullied once the whole thing started. There ultimately should not be a winner here.

All of you crying out for a new Mario, Zelda, Murasame Castle, and Animal Crossing while I’m out here wondering where the heck is Mario Party 11 (it’s been over a decade, Nintendo, stop putting out these side games and give us the big revival of the car formula)
