@XenoShaun they could have done a dual release of the game for both the 3DS and the Switch, with the option to transfer your Switch save to your 3DS so you can play with other 3DS users if there aren't any Switch users to play with.

Was hoping that there would be a multiplayer mode when I saw the trailer, but upon cursory research I am disappointed that there won't be such a mode. Would have been fun to play this with friends.

This is very good for players who prefer Japanese voices. Very nice of them to make this available!

@LegendOfPokemon I too would like to see the numbers, just to see the range. But I think the more important thing to take away from this is that the Switch launch was their best among all the consoles. This bodes well for the development of more Switch games in the future.

@Draxa on my end, it's not the lewdness that is the issue (I agree with you, this is quite tame by Japanese standards). It's the nerdy-virgin-my-swordu-isu-a-waifu vibe that is a bit unsettling.

Finally got a 128GB card and downloaded this game. Loving Golf Story so far. 5 hours into it.

There are several soft crashes in the game, such as the guy asking for the bandanna, which forces me to restart the game. The computer at the clubhouse can also trap you if someone else is using it, again forcing me to restart.

Those bugs aside, this game is really solid. Amusing dialog, solid controls with movement that feels right (not too slow, not too fast.) Would have loved to have a bit more control with the swing direction and adding spin, though, since the Switch's analog sticks are a bit soft.

This is really good news! Nintendo's putting more chips on the line with this stock increase, and I'm optimistic that it will pay off come holiday season.

More units sold means more developers will be enticed to make games for the console. Fingers crossed for Monster Hunter.

@Phin68 hear hear. Sadly a black and white solution doesn't exist. I do love it when Nintendo gets exposure, though I'm not quite sure how much (and what type) of it really helps.

If this had come out three years ago I would have been ALL OVER IT! Gorgeous design.

@Phin68 as much as I wish that were the case, I know too many people who just watch Let's Plays instead of buying games.

Not saying they would have bought the games had there been no Let's Plays, but many have told me that they have less desire to buy games because they've "already seen the ending."

I don't play FIFA, but I must commend EA for a good first shot at the Switch! The game looks surprisingly good given the power discrepancy between the Switch and other consoles. On handheld mode, this game will look gorgeous, which is what this version of the game is mostly about.

I hope this wave of positive news continues! Really hoping Capcom will eventually release a Western Monster Hunter Double Cross.

I love the Switch, but this estimate seems too optimistic. 130M is a crazy number of consoles, even for something as easy to understand as the Switch.

@thesilverbrick the 3DS is great! But I agree with you: I keep imagining some of my favorite 3DS games on the Switch screen Monster Hunter specifically. That Japanese demo has spoiled me.

@rjejr good points. I'm only middle-aged, so those things are probably still a few years away from being considerations for me. Not sure if it counts, but I pretty much consider my phone as a "wearable" as it's always on my person. XD The stylus and large screen are also quite relevant in my field, so the small screen of a watch is not so ideal.

I don't know how to feel about implanted tech yet. XD Been seeing those things on pets, and it seems useful. I can imagine jealous spouses demanding their partners to get those. XD

@rjejr I'm keeping my expectations low, so maybe we'll see 15 minutes of Metroid gameplay, 25 minutes of Super Mario Odyssey game play, around 4 minutes of new 3DS games, and 1 minute of transition footage.

And Capcom will be nowhere to be found.

@thesilverbrick I agree with you! I hope they put more resources into Switch games. I have not opened my 3DS in months, though without a new Monster Hunter game, my Switch has mostly just been for Zelda and Mario Kart, and little else.

(Looking forward to Worms, though! And Overcooked when I have the time)

@rjejr yeah I never really got on board with the wearable tech trend (fad?). It just seems too much, particularly since I've stopped wearing a watch ever since I got a Nokia 7110 before the turn of the millennium. Now I only ever wear a watch as bling for formal attire.

The sports angle is interesting, though, but that's what Samsung Health and similar apps are for.

@Morph I wholeheartedly agree with your analysis! The Switch truly is a hybrid, and is used as one. This is a nice statistic against the "it's just a portable with a TV out" concern (which implies that Switch users use it primarily as a handheld and just occasionally attach it to the dock.)

The design really is amazing. Very easy to understand concept, and intuitive to use.

I hope this console gets a Monster Hunter title soon!

It's sad that this has no offline play. Kinda goes against the Switch's portability. I'd love to play this (after) work with the people at the office. Alas.

When I have to travel off road, I always bring my Switch. The added stability makes the car glide over rocks.

@In_Ex_Fan I'm merely pointing out the oddity of the notion that people "choose" to fail. I'm sure everyone sets out to succeed and make something "great" but sometimes come up short.

NintenNinja16's "Just make it good" is also from the point of view of a consume, and is result/product-oriented, while your point of view is producer oriented, so I'm assuming "good" in that sense insinuates laziness/underestimation. The original "just make it good" statement was probably the hopeful kind, with good = what we wanted it to be. Like both of you, I am hoping we get to see a good treatment of Mega Man.

These look beautiful! As someone who played a ton of Gold/Silver on the Gameboy Color, these would be a dream to have.

Of all the 3rd party developers, I never expected Ubisoft to be the most prolific provider of Switch content. Good for them.

I blinked and misread this as Monster Hunter.

Now I'm sad again.

@GrailUK if you've seen the original SNES instruction manual, you'll probably wish the remake was done in claymation. Those models were gorgeous.

@Daezara same! Unfortunately the battery's long dead, so my beautiful Dragonite now belongs to the ages.

I'm still salty at Capcom for delaying (canceling?) it, but I would want nothing more at this moment than this being brought to the West.

Looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have an Epson projector, but this one is a much neater option for projector-based play!
