Was hoping to see more of MHGU to help hype it up, as well as other quirky new games. Instead we got way too much Smash and little else. Definitely not a good E3 showing from Nintendo.

That said, their year won't be bad at all. We have a ton of new and cool games.

Just didn't get to see enough of them at E3.

Not sure why so many people are raging against the 3DS, or are troll-baiting those people who rage against the 3DS.
I personally no longer care if it continues or not, as I haven't opened mine in a year and a half. It's also clear the Switch is now the focus of developers so there isn't a split of resources between two consoles now.

I wonder if Capcom will release MonHun Gen Ultimate on 3DS.

@Darthroseman I saw that one! The character customization is a very welcome inclusion. This is already looking like a Day 1 purchase for me and my friends!

God that pixel art is rough. Maybe this game looks better animated, but the screenshots do it no favors.

So the demo ends once you reach 3 hours? Not bad, though I did put in 6 hours 11mins into the original demo (maxed out the characters and gear) Looking forward to doing (half of) the same in the Prologue demo.

@BranJ0 not sure I get what you're saying. If they allow crossplay, that will somehow prevent PS4 people from playing together online? Wouldn't that mean they'd have more people to play online with, since they could also connect to XBox and Switch users?

When the girl slid her finger across the two screens my eyes lit up. Really creative, Nintendo! I am impressed.

@shani it opens up a whole new world of possibilities in terms of table-top gaming, and it rewards friends for having multiple Switch consoles. Nowadays you're limited to just one screen and 4 Joycons, or two screens with mirrored content. This not only allows for different dimensions and sizes for gameplay, but it also transforms the tablets into a gameboard. You aren't limited to looking "forward" at a screen that's perpendicular to the floor, but now it's something you are looking down into. (I understand that many games already have a top-down view, like Bomberman, but this expands that concept.)

If this has local multiplayer then I'm sold! Nothing like showing off your mecha-build and going on missions with friends.

Was honestly quite disappointed with their E3 showing so far. Though to be fair, their big guns were already unveiled before the event: Pokemon spin-off and MonHun being the main two that interest me.

Still, was maybe hoping for something new. Mario Party looks fun, but it doesn't move the needle as much as a new Animal Crossing would have.

Netflix and Youtube are fine, as long as they keep them optional downloads. I've no intention of using those apps on my console, so I want to keep my Switch clutter-free if possible.

This is cute and all, but I really wish they'd release an updated Wii Tennis (I know, Mario Tennis is a thing, but it's not my cup of tea.)

@buxner oh man, Wii Sports is one of my favorite Wii games. Would love for a new Wii Tennis! (I'm not too keen on the less-pure Mario Tennis, and the Tennis World Tour was a disaster.)

When other big games like Monster Hunter, Pokemon, and Smash Bros. arrive, those alone should be enough to push the sales past 20M for the fiscal year. While the early part of 2018 was admittedly bare (my lone big purchase was Attack on Titan 2), the second half of the year is shaping up to be another monster (no pun intended) half for Nintendo!

Amusingly, I do use my Mii with a Biddybuggy and Rollers, because I prioritize acceleration. Good to know science backs me up on that decision. 😆

Most likely will have in-app purchases...and for non-existent cards that won't survive once the servers (or cartridge) go down. At least with Magic cards you have them physically. So that's a hard pass from me.

Good on EA for continuing to support the Switch! While I may not like them (and I don't watch nor play football), I have to give them props for helping Nintendo grow.

@Akropolon I'm not sure 4K is becoming the norm just yet. 1080p is still the (upper) standard, and given the price of 4K devices (outside of phone screens) it hasn't caught on yet, at least outside the US.
And since internet speeds are a mixed bag worldwide, 4K streaming is a pipedream in most countries.
I agree with the general sentiment here that streaming will be another mode, but not the main mode. It'll be treated like VR, in my opinion: fancy, but not standard.

@Savino I agree! It's pretty gross and quite mysogynistic, and many instances it's essentially harrassment.

I know several female gamers who refuse to use voice chat because, well, there are a lot of creepy internet romeos out there.

@Hikingguy imagine all the major console makers going streaming only. Then Apple releases a physical console. Then they can advertise it as:

"Apple: reinventing the console."

Until internet connections improve worldwide, I doubt this will happen soon.

Also, people love to hold on to physical copies of things, be it games, consoles, and books. (Remember when PAPER was dead and eBooks were the future? Yeah that didn't happen...eBook sales are continually slumping while paper remains the main medium.)

Man, wish this came out earlier. I'll be too busy with Octopath and MonHun in July and August until 2019.

I feel so betrayed by this. Was really looking forward to a realistic tennis game. I can't ever bring myself to support this developer given their attitude. Congratulations in your 500,000 copies, I guess. You won't sell much more after that.

I do enjoy casual fare, but given my workload these days, it's a pass for me. But a definite yes for the kids. We need more games like this for younger players.

Quick question: is E3 too early for Monster Hunter to be listed at Gamestop? Game's not coming out until August.

This is one reason I'm apprehensive about the Pokéball controller. Particuarly as I'm hoping that the next mainline game is as complex as the previous games before it and therefore not too reliant on a one-button, one-analog stick controller. If I'm wrong, then I'll reconsider buying one. (Just...not at $60)

@idtgatt I get what you're saying, but production costs really don't factor into me buying the peripheral or not. I know Nintendo isn't trying to be my friend (how dense can a consumer be if they think that's the case?)

And since I am not trying to be Nintendo's friend, either, $60 is a pass for me.

@Kimyonaakuma I feel the same way. Given the rigors and demands of adult life, I won't be picking this up. Had this come out when I was twenty years younger, I'd have been all over it.

Also, that rumored price tag of $60 is a real deal breaker. No thanks.

I really love fishing games, so this is an insta-buy for me!

I already have a portable Epson projector, so I'm already good to go. Though honestly, if I don't have a TV I can connect to, I'm just going to use my Switch on portable mode.

So it's a menu that has graphics and contains game data. Amazing!

(Seriously though, this game looks fantastic for its age, and kudos to the team for all their hard work! Also, it's pretty amazing how the combat format is still more or less the same today. So it's not too jarring to play this one.)

Ethical or not, hacking or modding is a violation of the ToS. Hence, no more service.

Hackers kept rubbing it in Nintendo's face. Did they expect there would be no retribution?

The different styles and background feel like a big gimmick. I get the nostalgia angle, but as others have said, retro-feeling games are a dime a dozen now.

No loss for me. Plenty of upcoming games that I intend to throw money at.
Besides, I prefer my FPS games with a mouse, anyway.

Looks fun! I especially like having more fishing games for Switch.

Since Octopath Traveler and MonHun GenU are coming this year, anything else is a bonus to me.
