Last week we got a peek at the Pokéball Plus - the new peripheral that will bring Pokémon Let's Go Eevee and Let's Go Pikachu (as well as Pokémon GO) to life in new and exciting ways - and now we've learned a little more details about the controller's specifications.
The official Nintendo UK website confirms the Pokéball Plus will take around three hours to fully charge, as well as offering the option to disable its LED and rumble feature if you want to avoid it going off when you're at work or in school. According to Nintendo, it'll be available to buy on 16th November.
Will you be investing in a Pokéball Plus when it arrives later this year? Is it a worthy replacement for a Joy-Con when you're playing Pokémon? We want to hear your thoughts below...

Price is key. Let it go cheaply and it could really take off (particularly if it was releasing now rather than the verge of winter), but if Nintendo price it more than £20 then it's only going to be bought by the ultra poke-nerds is my guess.
Ok? It's hard to have any opinions on this with out knowing how long it lasts
I can't help but smile at the shot in the trailer where the Pokéball is being cradled and Pikachu vocalises drowsily. I'm really tempted to grab one for each version.
@abe_hikura Yeah, agreed. Might buy it if it's on sale, but only if the batterylife is good.
@gcunit It’s already been priced in my country and up for pre-order. 50 euros. The exact same amount for the full game.
So it will cost me 100 euros for the game and the peripheral, so yeah hard pass on the ball. Just the game for me.
@gcunit guaranteed this is going to be more than £20! I reckon we're looking at £50. Has there ever been a cheap Nintendo peripheral?
@Yasume Yoiks! That's hardly stocking-filla pricing is it? More expensive than a joy-con.
@gcunit It’s ridiculous. You can probably expect the same price in the UK and US.
Here’s a link to it btw:

I'll Wait for the Labo edition.
I'll pass, I would have gone for it when I was younger but now I don't need tons of extra things with my games.
Just give me a good game, that's enough
@Yasume I don't know the cost to get this thing to market, but if it could be sold at £15 then there's a chance of mass market sales which could drive the Pokemon trend for another year, as well as drive Switch sales. At 50 euros... no chance.
Oof I'm barely sold on the GO games as it is. This could've swayed me more if they were reasonably priced but that is way too high for me.
Maybe it's not the final price and just an estimate??
I wonder if they'll include some amiibo-like bonuses.
Can't wait to carry my mew around!
Will be getting 2 of them, hopefully they go up for preorder soon in the US, I'm sure they're going to go quickly!
This is scalper fodder. Good luck to anyone generally wanting one.
@gcunit There is no way it will cost less than or the same as the Pokémon Go Plus. The Go Plus is $34.99 USD so the Pokeball will likely be, at the very least, $50.
My wife wants the eevee game and the pokeball. She thinks it'll be cute and fun. I doubt she'd change her mind if it were $60. We're getting this. I make peace with our want for fun luxury items we don't actually need. Fun is worth the price of admission in this finite life.
If I can pre order one before they sell out.
I’m in the market for 2 of these Pokeballs but pricing will be important. Hopefully they aren’t more than $35 USD but because it’s Nintendo it wouldn’t shock me if it was $50 or more.
@abe_hikura
My thoughts exactly. I think that "Hmm, ok...?" sums it up quite well
I wonder how many of those will get thrown thru TVs.
I'm hoping there will be a bundle with the game and controller together. Definitely want one though
EBGames have them listed at $70. I may have to give this a pass unfortunately.

Anyone who thinks Nintendo will release this under £50 does not understand business, or product design. Which is fine! Not everyone knows everything!
But realistically, this is going to be a quality product which will be able to survive drop tests, and probably will have a production cost of £15-20 - as an estimate. A must-have product (for kids especially) like this is going to have a retail value of £50 - I mean, its not like the kids are saving pocket money, their parents who have already shelled out for the Switch and the game are.
This is business. Nintendo aren’t trying to be your friend, we are consumers. And there isn’t anything wrong with that in a a free market.
I actually want it, but I’m not getting it if its $60 or something.
@Kimyonaakuma I feel the same way. Given the rigors and demands of adult life, I won't be picking this up. Had this come out when I was twenty years younger, I'd have been all over it.
Also, that rumored price tag of $60 is a real deal breaker. No thanks.
@idtgatt I get what you're saying, but production costs really don't factor into me buying the peripheral or not. I know Nintendo isn't trying to be my friend (how dense can a consumer be if they think that's the case?)
And since I am not trying to be Nintendo's friend, either, $60 is a pass for me.
I do want this but I wish they'd get around to putting up pre-orders. I'm worried it'll be very hard to find on launch day if there's no ability to pre-order, just like the original Pokémon GO Plus was. It was almost a full year before that device saw sufficient stock at retail. Nintendo needs to do a better job at global pre-orders so they can better judge manufacturing demand.
TFW the battery charge time of a product warrants a news headline.
i'll buy both versions and the pokeball plus, too.
I want to be honest: I already preordered everything
Not that I'm going to buy it or Pokémon but how much is this thing???
These games and that pokéball is a mayor cashgrap imo. I won't dip into this at all.
Three hours? This sounds like old tech, maybe to make it cheap. The real question is how much does it lasts?
@Yasume: In that case I'll just stick with my old-school Pokewalker.
They can shove it if they think I'm gonna pay £49.99 for one of these...buys 6 😂
Nah but seriously, I might buy one used or discounted but I definitely couldn't afford it at full price if it's going for £50.
It's going to be £49.99. The thing is basically a Joy-Con in a Pokéball.
Yes I think it is a great investment! It makes pokemon more emerssive than you could ever fantasize! This would enhance pokemon go all the way! Making you feel as if your in the Pikemon universe, all though, 3 hour charging? WOO-WEE!
This thing seems pretty gimmicky. Probably fun for the kids but totally unnecessary.
@alasdair91 Pretty much. Not sure why folks expect it to be super cheap. With a wii remote-esque speaker in it, too.
Maybe somebody complaining about price can just make a styrofoam a la labo
@Randomlight I bet the labo edition of this is going to be even more expensive.
The 50 euro price tag is too much. Considering the tech inside maybe 35-40 would be reasonable. But for me even that would be too expensive for a thing that works with just one game.
I know they specifically want to profit off of selling this toy, but it would be a lot more convenient and make a lot more sense if this was just a smartphone app, since Let's Go is meant to appeal to Pokemon GO players, and almost everybody has a smartphone anyway, especially of you're playing Pokemon GO.
Also, remember when Pokewalker just came with Heart Gold/SoulSilver?
Depends on the price. I definitely would like to get one, but I won't if it's over-priced. Unfortunately, most likely it will be over-priced because it's Nintendo/Pokemon. In that case, I would wait for a sale, or buy one second-hand.
@DarkKirby Yes! That's what it reminded me of! I think it is indeed meant to be something like that.
Edit: I wish they would just include a pokeball with LGEevee/Pikachu; Even if it made the price like $80
@gcunit Pre-order price is currently at 49.99 although that could obviously change but the fact it has rumble technology like a joycon obviously means it will not be cheap.
I'm really hoping my GCU Best Buy discount applies to this.
Lets not kid ourselves, this isn't going to be cheap. I love Nintendo, but their accessories cost about a 20% premium over similar products on other consoles.
@molliolli182 - I don't know, that tech has been around over a decade now. Obviously Nintendo wants to make a profit, and because this is Pokemon they will sell a ton, but it's getting tiring spending $10-20 more for Nintendo accessories than is really necessary.
