Red Limb Studio has announced that its first-person psychological horror game Rise of Insanity is headed to Switch in Q3 2018.
The game, which was released just last week on Xbox One, centres around Dr Stephen Dowell, a renowned psychologist faced with a particularly difficult patient who shows contradictory symptoms of different mental disorders. The life of the doctor himself is also shrouded in mystery, and you must step into his shoes to find out the truth about your wife and child who seem to have befallen a terrible fate.
Krzysztof Sopata of Red Limb Studio has said the following about the game's release:
“For Rise of Insanity we drew inspiration from classic psychological horror masterpieces such as The Shining, The Exorcist and Silent Hill. The human mind can really be a container of horrors when we let our fears and monsters linger inside. In this game we also wanted to represent mental illness in some original ways, and let you literally ‘fly’ through the hidden paths of consciousness."
Features:
- The realistic graphics provide a horrifying and immersive atmosphere that will chill you to the core.
- Haunting soundtrack and professional voice acting.
- Explore diverse locations inspired by North American architectural trends from the early 70s.
- Walk, examine, discover dark secrets and solve logical puzzles.
We expect to hear more details surrounding the game's release on Switch - such as a specific release date and pricing - as its launch draws near. Until then, though, let us know whether you're interested in this one in the comments below.

That's insane!!!!
The first game Consistent Levelheadedness was average but this seems to deviate too much from the original.
Pass.
I even love bad horror games so no matter how this turns out I’ll buy it in a heart beat. I’ve purchased every first-person horror title on Switch so far and haven’t been let down once.
I am not gonna lie, when I saw "first person" I kinda got my hopes up. One genre the Switch is really lacking in is first person shooters. We do have Splatoon and Fortnite now, and both a fun and different 3rd person shooters. I guess we have Doom. And we are getting Wolfenstein. So there is that. I'd like a COD or a Mass Effect style game though. An FPS that doesn't have Nazis or literal satanic demons would be nice.
As for this game. Sorry, it's a horror game. Neat I guess, but that genre never really pulls me in.
@shiryu - I WANT THIS SO BAD
@Richard_Atkinson Looks like an average Monday to me.
@Heavyarms55 If you're not satisfied with the quintessential first-person shooters (Doom and Wolfenstein) it's tough to still say there isn't enough representation. That's kind of like saying there aren't enough platformers because you don't want to play as a plumber or gorilla. Sure, maybe that's an unfair comparison, but it sounds like the theme is more important to you than the genre.
@Shiryu - I'm strangely... jealous?
@Richard_Atkinson
@Heavyarms55 Paladins say high.
System. Seller.
@Heavyarms55 there’s a couple of other FPS I believe, my mind fails me but at the very least immortal redneck is pretty good if you’re looking for an FPS with a cool twist.
@JJ286 Oh yeah, that's out now. I forgot.
Cool. Just by telling their inspirations, I think they basically told us the plot twist. Let me guess, his family died because he killed them, right?
