Despite playing host to myriad genres and subgenres as of 2018, Nintendo Switch is still lacking when it comes to deck-building titles. And while A Long Way Down from French studio Seenapsis isn't a traditional CCG, it mixes the basic concept with monster-filled dungeons and roguelite risk. The result is a dark and intriguing amalgamation that takes a few cues from the likes of Darkest Dungeon and Hand of Fate.
Cards in your deck serve as choices, with each one shaping your adventure as you delve deeper into the dungeon below. There's loot to be found, allies to be made and a ton of enemies to evade and kill as you use your deck to defend against all manner of nightmare creatures.
Check out the teaser trailer above. What do you make of A Long Way Down's genre-mashing concept? Worth a hand or two on Switch? Share your thoughts below...

If it's even close to as good as Hand of fate, then I'm in.
Really gorgeous art style!
@PhilKenSebben Yeah kinda, I enjoyed Hands Of Fate a fair bit even though its combat was at the same time really derivative (my fault for having played all the Arkham games I guess^^) and also really basic. I haven't tried Hands Of Fate 2 yet, so maybe that issue has already been addressed.
Anyways, I really enjoy deck building games and rogue-lites alike, and the art style seems rather endearing, so chances are, that this is going be right down my alley. I also highly recommend Slay the Spire and Card Quest on Steam for some awesome rogue-lite+deck-building-action
@Ralek85 Card Quest is a blast. I second that!
Awesome art style, but Roguelites generally aren't my thing.
Rogue....sold!
I wonder how it compares to Slay the Spire which has been making rounds on Steam. I've not played either.
Also hmm, maybe some traditional deckbuilders could be brought to Switch? I wouldn't mind parity between mobile, Steam and Switch versions of Star Realms.
And why not Arkham Horror LCG on Switch ?
