@SuperDan64 While I would love it, it is fundamentally a concept that requires asynchronous multiplayer. Two screens are needed to make the game function. They could get around this with something like the Clubhouse Games Guest Pass, but the game simply cannot function to its fullest potential with just a single Switch.
They still need to port Yoshi’s Woolly World. Bring it to Switch, with the 3DS content, and HD versions of the shorts. I know they’re sitting on HD versions of all those shorts. I require them!
@MondayMedley It really isn’t. You can drag and drop as many as you want from the game into HOME. If you have them all in the game already, it takes a grand total of five minutes, if that.
The real challenge here is that you have to catch or hatch them fresh in SV. It’s a time-consuming task, but it can be done a lot quicker than most people think, especially since SV is really kind for grinding.
Huh…I didn’t think too much of it, to be honest. In reality, though, I think it’s because I was just over the moon to finally learn what the heck the NX was after over a year and a half of speculation and rumors.
Yeah, that ain’t gonna work. Sorry Nintendo. It’ll be out there within seconds…and then dumped minutes later. (Of course, I expect the software will require some sort of online handshake to work properly, so whether those dumps will be of any use is to be seen)
“If they’re coming after you, you’re doing something right.”
Even without the suit, I don’t think this franchise was ever destined or envisioned to be a Pokémon competitor, even after its success. I agree that competition is healthy, but with how big Pokémon is, it’s going to take far more than lightning in a bottle to make something that can match it.
As for the suit, we’ll just have to see what patents they’re supposedly infringing.
It has some good production values…but it does not look like it’ll run well on Switch. I’ll wait until it’s out to hear the verdict, but I’m not expecting much.
@Deviant-Dork They’re not gonna go after Palworld without a really good case. While the similarities between monster designs do exist, with how big the game got at launch, it was always better for them to just sit back and wait for the game to die down…and it did. At this point, they’ll probably just sit back and let Palworld keep its audience.
I was wondering where the review for this game was. I quite enjoyed my romp through it and completed it fully. My only true complaint with the game is its length, especially when the price tag is considered. But, I don’t regret paying for it.
Wow…the writer of this article and a fair amount of comments make it sound like the talking flowers pissed in their cereal, stole their partners away, kicked their pets, and called them a slur.
Hyperbole aside, I actually really liked the talking flowers. I thought they were just charming little additions that gave the game more personality. Now I won’t get a plush of them because I don’t buy plushies in general, but I think it’s at least kinda cute.
IIRC, this is the first time the NES version of Tetris has ever been rereleased. That’s neat. The Tengen version on the NES is better in just about every way, but that thing’s never gonna see the light of day again, so this is a neat consolation prize.
Okay, I get WHY they’re doing this as I don’t imagine Pokémon TV translated much to additional sales and they were probably losing money on it for a while.
But I’m not too fond of these episodes being locked behind ads. I guess we’ll just have to see how it is in practice, but realistically, I probably won’t be itching to rewatch the show anytime soon.
I don’t really much care for the results in most of these categories, but at least people are in agreement that it’s about diddly-dang time we got another new Mega Man game. I don’t care which sub series it’s in, I’ll buy it. Just make it Capcom!…And Ace Attorney 7, please n’ thanks!
Makes sense. The English words that the characters spoke (proper names and “Metroid”, iirc) showed up in the sentences where the subtitles indicated they were.
Well, given that Square Enix wants to actually make money again and KH has a pretty long history with Nintendo, this seems quite within the realm of possibility.
In all fairness, this is something that could be pinned down with an educated guess. What better way to celebrate the 10th generation of Pokémon than by aligning it with a major milestone anniversary? Makes me wonder what they have planned for the rest of 2025.
But also, assuming Gen X started development after base SV finished, that’ll give the game four years of development, something they haven’t had since Gen V. Might be a sign that they’ve taken the feedback from SV to heart and are giving themselves some more time.
Of course EA is among the first major studios to explore this option, but all the same, I get the feeling this is going to become a lot more prevalent what with the rising cost of game development.
@gcunit The reason for the turnaround is that the situation was developing. Edited comments are typically only made when new information is brought to light.
As for Garry’s Mod, I couldn’t care less. I don’t own it, have never played it, and don’t intend to. Have a nice day!
@TotalHenshin Yeah, that’s what I meant. Microsoft owns Crash Bandicoot and Spyro (due to the Activision acquisition), so they control where the IP goes.
Good. I’m glad this game is getting recognition. Hopefully the reports of Toys for Bob working on a new Crash or Spyro game are true. Of course, they would possibly skip Switch/whatever Nintendo platform is current since Microsoft owns them now, but those games would fit well with Nintendo, so I could see Microsoft pushing them there as well.
I’m finally working my way through these games via the Switch. I thoroughly enjoyed Final Fantasies I and III, hated II, and am loving IV so far. Looking forward to the other entries soon.
I’d put it at 7.5/10. It has good moments, most of the costumes are okay, a few are really fun, and one in particular is very weak (you know the one). It’s a bit boring at points, and the gameplay is a bit monotonous, but it has a lot of charm and simple joy. It’s very much a “buy it on sale” game, but for Peach fans and younger gamers (especially young girls), it’s still good.
Good to see the Mystery Dungeon games get the love they deserve, even if their descriptions from the writers aren’t the most flattering.
But, I will never understand why Colosseum and XD are so loved. I played them within the last few years and I hated them. Guess it’s just a me problem, but I will never like them.
I’d buy the 3rd versions because I’m weak and like to collect games, but they are completely unnecessary in the age of DLC. Not to mention, we’re getting to the point where they’d cost nearly twice as much as DLC, and you’d only get the added DLC content anyways. That practice can stay dead.
I happily eviscerated Colosseum and XD with a 4 and 5 respectively. I didn’t play these games as a kid, and when I finally got around to playing them as an adult, I hated them. Lackluster graphics even by GameCube standards, stiff animations on everything but the Pokémon, mediocre music that loops way too quickly, tedious backtracking, infuriating Shadow Pokémon mechanics, and the SLOOOOOOW battles. Yeah, I don’t get the hype behind these games. They can stay stranded on the GameCube.
@sanderev For sure. I’m not saying they are. But it just bothers me that microtransactions (which are just as dangerous and addictive as gambling) are given a pass when Balatro, which features no gambling whatsoever, is slapped with an age rating that will no doubt impact sales negatively.
Fortnite: contains elements that can easily get kids addicted to microtransactions (I know because some of my nephews are constantly asking for V-Bucks)
PEGI rating: 12+
Balatro: contains poker elements while having NO gambling or microtransactions whatsoever
PEGI rating: 18+
PEGI over there just doing things that make sense today!

@mariomaster96 Glad I’m not alone on this hill. Color Splash is legit my second favorite Paper Mario game.

Re: Switch System Update 19.0.0 Is Apparently Causing Some Issues
Oops. It’s too stable now.
I haven’t had any issues myself, but this seems like something Nintendo will probably look into a bit more if they’re getting complaints.
Re: Mario & Luigi: Brothership Has Reportedly Leaked Online
@N00BiSH Did you not read the article? It’s Acquire (a Japanese studio responsible for Octopath Traveler).
Re: Mario & Luigi: Brothership Has Reportedly Leaked Online
Not even reportedly. I have the file and have been playing it.
(And before people get mad, I’m still buying the physical version. I support devs)

That’s good, Miyamoto-san. Now let’s get you back to bed.
But in all seriousness, nuh uh, they were absolutely competing with Atari, Sega, Sony, and Microsoft up until the Wii.
Re: Nintendo Is Reportedly Targeting AI-Generated Mario Pictures
