Re: It Turns Out Pokémon GO Players Have Been Training An AI This Whole Time

Shepdawg1

Not too surprising. Niantic’s status as a game developer has always been a front. They’re a data farm using a game-oriented collection model. This is why they have been so eager to nerf remote raids and ban spoofers in Pokémon GO. There’s little usable data to collect from a phone that isn’t physically present at a location.

As for this AI itself, it depends on what it’ll be used for. AI has uses, but it needs to be implemented responsibly. Only time will tell what they plan to do with it.

Re: Come On, Where Are The Composer Credits in 'Nintendo Music'?

Shepdawg1

Not defending this at all, but…isn’t this a Japanese culture thing? Like where the work of the individuals is largely lumped into one sum and one credit rather than individuals getting credited?

Again, not defending the lack of crediting here and I think it should be here. I’m just asking for clarity.

Re: Pokémon Home 'Shiny Meloetta' Distribution Now Available

Shepdawg1

@MondayMedley It really isn’t. You can drag and drop as many as you want from the game into HOME. If you have them all in the game already, it takes a grand total of five minutes, if that.

The real challenge here is that you have to catch or hatch them fresh in SV. It’s a time-consuming task, but it can be done a lot quicker than most people think, especially since SV is really kind for grinding.

Re: Palworld Developer Responds To Nintendo Lawsuit

Shepdawg1

“If they’re coming after you, you’re doing something right.”

Even without the suit, I don’t think this franchise was ever destined or envisioned to be a Pokémon competitor, even after its success. I agree that competition is healthy, but with how big Pokémon is, it’s going to take far more than lightning in a bottle to make something that can match it.

As for the suit, we’ll just have to see what patents they’re supposedly infringing.

Re: Onward And Upward! This Upcoming Mario Wonder Plushie Actually Talks

Shepdawg1

Wow…the writer of this article and a fair amount of comments make it sound like the talking flowers pissed in their cereal, stole their partners away, kicked their pets, and called them a slur.

Hyperbole aside, I actually really liked the talking flowers. I thought they were just charming little additions that gave the game more personality. Now I won’t get a plush of them because I don’t buy plushies in general, but I think it’s at least kinda cute.

Re: Pokémon Partners With WildBrain To Stream First 22 Anime Seasons

Shepdawg1

Okay, I get WHY they’re doing this as I don’t imagine Pokémon TV translated much to additional sales and they were probably losing money on it for a while.

But I’m not too fond of these episodes being locked behind ads. I guess we’ll just have to see how it is in practice, but realistically, I probably won’t be itching to rewatch the show anytime soon.

Re: Rumour: Pokémon Leaker Suggests Gen 10 Games Are Coming In 2026

Shepdawg1

In all fairness, this is something that could be pinned down with an educated guess. What better way to celebrate the 10th generation of Pokémon than by aligning it with a major milestone anniversary? Makes me wonder what they have planned for the rest of 2025.

But also, assuming Gen X started development after base SV finished, that’ll give the game four years of development, something they haven’t had since Gen V. Might be a sign that they’ve taken the feedback from SV to heart and are giving themselves some more time.

Re: Crash Bandicoot 4 Sales Reportedly Surpass Five Million

Shepdawg1

Good. I’m glad this game is getting recognition. Hopefully the reports of Toys for Bob working on a new Crash or Spyro game are true. Of course, they would possibly skip Switch/whatever Nintendo platform is current since Microsoft owns them now, but those games would fit well with Nintendo, so I could see Microsoft pushing them there as well.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give 'Princess Peach: Showtime!'?

Shepdawg1

I’d put it at 7.5/10. It has good moments, most of the costumes are okay, a few are really fun, and one in particular is very weak (you know the one). It’s a bit boring at points, and the gameplay is a bit monotonous, but it has a lot of charm and simple joy. It’s very much a “buy it on sale” game, but for Peach fans and younger gamers (especially young girls), it’s still good.

Re: Best Pokémon Spin-Off Games Of All Time

Shepdawg1

Good to see the Mystery Dungeon games get the love they deserve, even if their descriptions from the writers aren’t the most flattering.

But, I will never understand why Colosseum and XD are so loved. I played them within the last few years and I hated them. Guess it’s just a me problem, but I will never like them.
