Clearly with the huge continued success of Mariokart 8 Deluxe, there's a massive market for great games on the Wii U that didn't get the chance to shine. Do we think they'll do the same for Super Mario 3D World at some point?

I got the demo which was pretty decent if a bit short. Defo give it a go if you haven't.

The fact that it's standing up next to the PS4 version is pretty damn impressive.

@EightyTwoStu Other than Metroid which ROCKED! I'm no fan of detective games or Pokemon so defo not one for me! Sure it'll sell well in the US and Japan though...

Super Play was my all time fave mag and Will was essential to its success. Get well Mr Overton.

He had better get a showreel of violent movies then as well. And all on the same day he backtracks over his promises to tighten up gun control. If games and movies gave someone a blood lust to blow people away (which they don't) it wouldn't matter if they couldn't get hold of an automatic shotgun would it?

@Heavyarms55 Couldn't agree more. The Wii U was the only Nintendo system I didn't get so why shouldn't they charge full price for a game so many people have never gotten to play? Making a game in house like this one takes so much creative input, time and money so bringing it to a new successful system is to be admired, not mocked by the masses, including this site it seems.

@Nincompoop Well it's not an illusion that it has so many games and I for one have never played any of the ports or the indy titles either so for people who don't have PS4 or a PC etc its a plethora of new games and ideas brought to a new a portable fanbase.

@BensonUii Yes I have criticised the site in the past for a bit of shoddy journalism or a blatant ad disguised as a story but on the whole I find it's a good community and mostly a good site. Definitely send in stories, I doubt they'd hold a grudge and as a journalist myself, content is content. Personally I'd like them to post actual charts from the US and Europe rather than just talk about them! Hint hint.

@Anti-Matter Final Fantasy Tactics is one of the best games ever made IMO. I'm playing through Mercenaries Saga 3 ATM which is a pretty good knock off. A proper full FFT for the Switch with amazing graphics, music and a story to match the original would be the actual dream. The stylised graphics here for the characters are a bit of a let down, probably would have tried it otherwise.

@beazlen1 Yeah I noticed that too. Well spotted. You only have to go to Game or Sainsbury's etc to see why it's not that hot property here, barely any shelf space at all. Someone ain't doing their job!

I think it'll be Smash Deluxe and it'll be soon, like the summer. How about a Kid Icarus mainline adventure? Or another new IP. Also Castlevania and some confirmation from Square Enix of what they have planned! I long for a Final Fantasy Tactics full on sequel for the Switch. They could have done that rather than Octopath (although I did like the demo)

I actually got 3 on my 3DS over christmas for less than a fiver! Well worth it and was a good alternative to Odyssey. I LOVED Final Fantasy Tactics and while not as good at all, its definitely fun and so worth it at that price

@AshFoxX @ThomasBW84 What an excellent editorial and a great heartfelt comment. Being kind an courteous to each other is even more important at the moment than it ever has been. This editorial really proves to me why I'm a Nintendo fan and what this community can mean to so many people. The kindness and sense of family that comes hand in hand with Nintendo is reflected 100% in this site which I also visit every day. It's a fantastic time to be a Nintendo fan which I have been since I got my first NES. The Switch is a wonderful machine and I've just taken a time out from the mayhem of Christmas Day to play my first 30 minutes of Super Mario Odyssey and it is just as incredible as I'd hoped. Here's to 2018, good luck to you Tom and Merry Christmas everyone!

I was trying to keep some of the kingdoms as a surprise til I get the game for Christmas but these handy guides popping up on NL with the name of the kingdom in the title is gradually putting a stop to that pipe dream!

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Pro Evol shipped on the 12th and NBA is a huge game. For 3 days and on the 3DS that's a good result. End of the day the UK isn't a Nintendo stronghold, when we look at the US numbers we'll have more of an idea. Praying its a smash so we get a 2D Metroid 5 on the Switch after Prime 4.
