Never underestimate the Big N! Seeing as speculation is rife on the NX without anyone actually seeing one, it's safe to say that they could have something that again moves the industry in exciting new directions. The only thing their rivals ever do is provide more power which is something that Nintendo has never really been fussed with, focussing on player interaction and just plain old fun instead.

How good would F-Zero themes be remixed in this style?! Never liked the screeching 'guitars' from F-Zero X. Please let there be an F-Zero NX in the pipeline!

It does get me excited and maybe means that a reveal is not far away. The fact they only showed Breath Of The Wild at E3 means that everything else they are working on is for the NX which they weren't prepared to show so some of these games must be well into production ready for the launch window. Let's hope they are all games we want and not spin offs!

Not perfect but totally get enough of a gist to imagine how good a real Studio Ghibli Zelda would be. If only they were still making films!

I have been devastated all day. Nintendolife was the last place I thought I'd see talk of Brexit, having a look to escape and cheer myself up before bed. I, too, am ashamed to be British today, as is nearly half the country that voted to stay. I hope that we can make it out of this.

As a gay gamer myself, I welcome the option to marry a guy as I wanted to do that in Awakenings. Well done Nintendo for this and I'm just glad that the people who don't 'agree' with it, despite it being nothing to do with them, now have no choice but to co-exist... like in real life. The other option being don't buy the game.. or cut off your nose to spite your face while you're at it. It's not the gay militia/liberals pushing it, it's life, and I'm so glad 99% of the people on here get that.

There's so much, if even half of that came off they would have won before the race even started and that's without getting the latest 3rd party guys on board.

I hate to say this but I just can't get into Majora's Mask!! I have played each and every Zelda to completion and got the 3DS version when it came out. I have tried loads of times but keep coming up against irritating barriers. Am I missing something? Have done the first 'dungeon' but I'm still not rally drawn in. And the time thing does my head in as well!

@JaxonH @ikki5 I'm talking about the changes to the game written about in this news article, one of which is giving the young teenage character slightly more to wear in one particular outfit which is the right thing to do.

As for the slider, I agree that the avatar representation should be left alone but I guarantee there would be nothing like this amount of comments here if it was to so with the removal a slider for the size of the male avatar's package. I think it's a shame you can't alter both as that would be the happy medium. Or large.

@Samwise7 Ok yes I get your point, as the size of a woman's breasts is irrelevant in this game and certainly shouldn't be viewed as obscene. I think their point is that it's just not necessary. I don't like censorship at all and the game should be presented as the creator intended, but I just think maybe the intention wasn't the best in the first place as there is so such option for the male characters. I stand by my point about a bikini and the possibility of large breasts on a 13 year though. Stick to the adults.

@Yorumi I wasn't aware of that but again it's to create a cool character who you want to play as, not necessarily one who looks like you or else you wouldn't choose to create an avatar of the opposite sex. I always used to play as Chun Li back in the day but cos I thought she was cool. I agree with any and all customisation just make it equal to both sexes and don't make it inappropriate for child characters as that's plain old creepy.

@heyzeus002 Exactly, have none or both. Anyone who has seen some of the slightly disturbing Japanese anime school girls in various 'situations' will know that there's something off about having a 13 year old girl in a bikini and being able to give her large breasts. It has nothing to do with the game and while I think the more customisation the better, just do it appropriately and equally. Changing the size of a man's pecks does not equate to changing the size of a woman's breasts. And with customisation, you don't have all these options to have them look like you! There would have to be a whole load of unattractive and overweight options if that was the case. 'Why have they removed the acne slider?' said no-one.

@Mr_Rawky I completely agree. Having a 13 year old girl with massive breasts and a bikini isn't particularly nice or necessary. If there was a slider to decide whether your male character had a huge package then I would say yeah leave them both in but there isn't, which sort of means it's there for a different purpose. Personally, I'm gay so a big rack does nothing for me sexually but I'd still give my characters large breasts if I had the choice I expect. Make it equal or not at al I guess. And to be honest, just play the game, you won't even notice once you get going.

@Shiryu It's totally amazing what you've achieved. The F-Zero and Secret of Mana soundtracks are my faves of all time so have listened to your stuff from start to finish. I'm a writer so it completely chills me out and inspires me at the same time when I work and listen. Cheers!

@ThomasBW84 What a brilliant and heartfelt piece, thank you for that. There was a sea change going on at Nintendo and Iwata-san was at the very heart of it. I think Shigeru Miyamoto will be the ultimate successor and someone who can further Iwata-san's vision and who knew everything that he was striving for. Both of these men changed the face of gaming and one half of that double team will be sorely missed. RIP Mr Iwata and thank you.

Ah this has really choked me up as well. So sad, and so moving to see the respect from Sony and Microsoft who know that he has kept them on theirs toes, inspired them and indeed all of us.

I have to say that a game that is a mix of Uprising and the original would be amazing. The original music was brilliant and I liked the slowed down exploratory aspect of the dungeons. Definitely so much potential in this IP that they haven't really tapped into at all.

@Takerkaneanite6 Yes! And with thumping dance remixes (wipeout style) of the original themes and not faux heavy metal crap lol!

@WaveBoy Perfect. Super Castlevania V and a new Contra would be ideal. Nintendo have proven with A Link Between Worlds how it can work so well.

I think they've missed a massive trick. They could have released the Wii with all their 1st party games, none of which need censoring, and made a shed load. Literally Nintendo consoles are the perfect fit. Sell them cheap, get a generation hooked. Job done. Billions made.

Am I being stupid, but how come the 3DS isn't capable of emulating the SNES? I thought it would have been way more powerful, the graphics are so much better.

@JaxonH Being old enough to have played them all from the start as they came out (I was a child for the first few though) I have to say Skyward Sword and A Link to the Past are the best. SS blew me away at times with the game's design, emotion and sheer beauty as well as the enormous fun factor. A Link to The Past is so big and I was so excited for A Link Between Worlds and although it's an incredible, 5 star game... it's just too easy and just felt a bit smaller in scope. The storyline however was amazing. I just think SS is the pinnacle of the Zelda's and gets waaay too much stick when in fact it's so gorgeous and so moreish, I wasn't bored once. Amazing game.

I listened but had to look away, the multitude of facial expressions were just a step too far towards irritating for me.

@Zergling Nintendo will be dead to you if they release the game as all inclusive to people with alternative sexualities? Hmm probably not the type of customer anybody really wants then. People get fired in businesses across the globe for saying less and rightly so.

@DiscoGentleman I agree, also as a gay man it does just seem out of place. So much so I wondered what LGBT stood for in this instance! Just tacked on as some kind of 'industry'. Ah well, I ain't complaining but really its just about equality and not trying to squeeze cash out of particular group of people in a cringe-worthy fashion. Lets just wait and see what Atari means by that.

As someone who has worked in game PR I do find this amusing. Not the trouble it caused but the general brainstrorming session that it oroginated from where they all thought it was a genius idea...if only they got the guys number right and left a voicemail or at least made sure the pin worked. Classic PR stupidity. Love it.

I would suggest having it on while you're doing other stuff tbh. The dude calling himself 'the Balrog of the music industry' with accompanying rap round the 18 min mark is a particularly hilarious highlight.

@Ronoh But surely that negates the point of the 3DS? It's popularity is of course mainly down to the games but the 3D effects used in those games enhance them and developers know that. Otherwise it's just a DS with better graphics and processor etc. I believe Nintendo that 3D is important to them, the 2DS is simply a way to sell more machines and more of the already existing canon of 3DS games to younger or less gaming market.

Clearly this is for kids, just by the look of it. With all the crap flying about about 3D being 'bad for your eyes' this is a simple way for under 10s to play 3DS games (ie sell more). 3D is not a gimmick at all and I never take it off. Some of the effects on Fire Emblem are awesome and its clear Link Between Worlds is utilising it excellently as well. Fret not 3D gamers, this is simply a marketing tool to get young'uns to get on the Nintendo ride early.
