Re: Editorial: After The Bold Brilliance Of Breath Of The Wild, Where Can Zelda Go Next?

Samwise7

I would like to see maybe a mix of the two. I think the overworld is incredible and a masterpiece in itself. So many flourishes of genius I've honestly been properly emotionally moved at times. I love the multitude of shrines and discovering them is such an awesome undertaking but I'd like to see more variety in the look of them. I always loved the layouts of the dungeons and the sense of dread which I think is missing in the slightly anodyne shrines. Get more colour in them, spruce up the music. Get more towns in the over world and there's a massive basis for the series to move on. It has renewed my love for Zelda in such a huge way I really take my hat off to Nintendo.

Agreed, a free meal tastes all the sweeter and more enjoyable than if you paid through the nose for it. I agree with Alex, you'd be more interested and play it more if you didn't resent having to pay for it which ultimately detracts from its experience. When you see Holly Willoughby playing 1,2,Switch on This Morning, you realise what its reach is and how it would have been the perfect pack in.

Re: Feature: Some of Our Favourite Legend of Zelda Games

Number 1 has to Link To The Past. Music, graphics, dungeons, dark world. Amazing. 2 is Skyward Sword - I just loved the dynamics, the characters and again the music. And then 3 Twilight Princess as it was genuinely darker and scarier. I couldn't really get on with Majora's Mask, it felt too 'small'. BOTW looks amazing but I'm just the slightest bit worried about the music or lack of. Will there be some new classic themes? Seems a bit sparse from what we've seen.

Re: Poll: One Week to Go - How Are Your Nintendo Switch Presentation Hype Levels?

Samwise7

Thanks @gcunit I guess I didn't know which is why I was so liberal with my swears. @Plywoodstick @g-boy don't even get me started on the different cultural perspectives between the US and the UK. I love a comedy or emphatic curse as you say but not a violent one. When it comes to ratings, the differences between nudity and violence between our two ratings cultures is just shocking. A boob being more shocking than a murder apparently but then lets not get started on gun culture or we'll be here all day!

Re: Poll: One Week to Go - How Are Your Nintendo Switch Presentation Hype Levels?

Thank you @G-Boy and while I didn't realise that I wasn't allowed to swear, I do find the threat from @gcunit of deleting my account as slightly draconian. I do use profanity for emphasis, in my writing (I'm a journalist/author) and in spoken word, so am just a little surprised when I was simply expressing my excitement for the Switch. I wouldn't use swears on Miiverse but in most of the British media it is permissible so I assumed it would be the case in the comments section of Nintendo Life. Apologies for any offence caused.

I'm Samwise7, I love Nintendo, and I love to swear.

3 days left! I'm one excited @*%$!!

Re: Soapbox: You Should Probably Avoid Capcom's Mega Man Mobile Ports

Samwise7

A PRIME example of how Nintendo made the right decision with SMR. You pay for quality. Fair enough it could be at £5 or $5 but it's worth more than that. The fact that Mega Man here is $12 for 6 shabby games that are actually all brilliant originally just highlights that this is a huge Nibelsnarf up. Basically, nintendo would NEVER release a pile of poo like this that does nothing but damage Capcom's brand.

Re: Editorial: The 3D Effect - A Smart 3DS Feature That Struggled to Find Its True Depth

Samwise7

Well said @ThomasBW84 I love my 3DS and the 3D aspect has been something I've enjoyed and will continue to. I went to the launch of it in Amsterdam and even met Mr Miyamoto and Nintendo gave me one as a gift (which I left in a cab a year later in Glasgow ironically!). I now have a New 3DS XL and the 3D is even more lush than before so I will lament when they stop making games to support the 3D function. I'm yet to get Fire Emblem Fates so I'm going to savour every minute of its stereoscopic goodness.

Re: Newzoo Estimates Less Than Five Percent of Users Have Paid For Super Mario Run

Samwise7

I got into an argument with this guy at a New Years Eve party about it. Yeah I was a bit inebriated! Basically he was saying that he wasn't going to pay the £7.99 for it and I laid into him haha! I said that was CHEAP for a Mario game and he should be grateful for that. There's heaps of content, I have easily spent 20 hours on it over christmas and new year and it's ridiculous you would be able to get such a valuable IP for free. Micro-transactions are awful and are there to suck up your money in the long run and that's not what Nintendo is about. People have missed the point, drives me MAD! He agreed with me eventually haha.
