@SLIGEACH_EIRE Haha not a very positive viewpoint. Actually the full interview is a pretty good read and doesn't feel like spin, just a man proud of his company.
Looks brilliant and the guys behind it clearly know what they are doing. I just find it funny how there is such a market for the likes of Castlevania, Metroid, F-Zero, Mega Man etc that indies are doing it for themselves when the people who own the IPs should actually be doing it themselves!
Defo has to be more than just Mario. There needs to be a Metroid coaster for sure, a bit like Space Mountain, proper scary. Zelda more tricky, spinning Gorons perhaps haha.
@Peach64 Thats true. With the opening so far away, that looks temporary and probably for an announcement or show etc. to drum up some excitement. They wouldn't install fireworks over 3.5 years in advance!
@Eric258 Definitely more dungeons and more varied. Imagine just stumbling across huge level dungeons just out of the blue (like the first one) and putting them on your map for later cos they were WAY too hard? SO fun.
@alexolney 'Let us know what you think of the game besides the size of Twintelle's hair down there' We can't see her hair down there! Thankfully, this is a family game.
I would like to see maybe a mix of the two. I think the overworld is incredible and a masterpiece in itself. So many flourishes of genius I've honestly been properly emotionally moved at times. I love the multitude of shrines and discovering them is such an awesome undertaking but I'd like to see more variety in the look of them. I always loved the layouts of the dungeons and the sense of dread which I think is missing in the slightly anodyne shrines. Get more colour in them, spruce up the music. Get more towns in the over world and there's a massive basis for the series to move on. It has renewed my love for Zelda in such a huge way I really take my hat off to Nintendo.
@gcunit I agree, bit of a flimsy review. Sort of reads like it's half finished. How long is the game? Nothing about items or music etc etc. Learned more from the trailer!
@gcunit @AlexOlney @Simbabbad @Grandpa_Pixel @briwipdx Agreed, a free meal tastes all the sweeter and more enjoyable than if you paid through the nose for it. I agree with Alex, you'd be more interested and play it more if you didn't resent having to pay for it which ultimately detracts from its experience. When you see Holly Willoughby playing 1,2,Switch on This Morning, you realise what its reach is and how it would have been the perfect pack in.
Number 1 has to Link To The Past. Music, graphics, dungeons, dark world. Amazing. 2 is Skyward Sword - I just loved the dynamics, the characters and again the music. And then 3 Twilight Princess as it was genuinely darker and scarier. I couldn't really get on with Majora's Mask, it felt too 'small'. BOTW looks amazing but I'm just the slightest bit worried about the music or lack of. Will there be some new classic themes? Seems a bit sparse from what we've seen.
@remlapgamer While the director swearing is just him being enthusiastic about the project, I'd imagine the R Rating would be for the gore. The core content of GoT has a lot of sex in it so I doubt they would wedge that sort of thing in unnecessarily. If they're going for proper scary monsters getting hacked to bits then that's what will make it R.
Would love see those economy and mechanics details, not sure why you guys haven't popped them up as you would do normally with the slightest bit of news unless you're directing us to buy a copy of the mag?
@beazlen1 That's true, my nieces love that sort of shiz as well. I do think that it should be included with the Switch however, preloaded onto the system.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Haha I know WTF is 'Baby'? That's the worst 'game' I've ever seen. Takes the worst parts of a real baby (crying non stop) and puts it in a Switch? SO weird.
Thanks @gcunit I guess I didn't know which is why I was so liberal with my swears. @Plywoodstick @g-boy don't even get me started on the different cultural perspectives between the US and the UK. I love a comedy or emphatic curse as you say but not a violent one. When it comes to ratings, the differences between nudity and violence between our two ratings cultures is just shocking. A boob being more shocking than a murder apparently but then lets not get started on gun culture or we'll be here all day!
Thank you @G-Boy and while I didn't realise that I wasn't allowed to swear, I do find the threat from @gcunit of deleting my account as slightly draconian. I do use profanity for emphasis, in my writing (I'm a journalist/author) and in spoken word, so am just a little surprised when I was simply expressing my excitement for the Switch. I wouldn't use swears on Miiverse but in most of the British media it is permissible so I assumed it would be the case in the comments section of Nintendo Life. Apologies for any offence caused.
I'm Samwise7, I love Nintendo, and I love to swear.
A PRIME example of how Nintendo made the right decision with SMR. You pay for quality. Fair enough it could be at £5 or $5 but it's worth more than that. The fact that Mega Man here is $12 for 6 shabby games that are actually all brilliant originally just highlights that this is a huge Nibelsnarf up. Basically, nintendo would NEVER release a pile of poo like this that does nothing but damage Capcom's brand.
Last time I waited up till 4am was for the US elections and look how that turned out! I'm going to go to bed in the UK and hopefully wake up to a brand new world of Nintendo!
I have to say that I'd rather it was available day one in the US and Japan and we in Europe wait a little longer. The success of the Switch is the most important thing here, a few months wait wouldn't make any difference to me.
Well said @ThomasBW84 I love my 3DS and the 3D aspect has been something I've enjoyed and will continue to. I went to the launch of it in Amsterdam and even met Mr Miyamoto and Nintendo gave me one as a gift (which I left in a cab a year later in Glasgow ironically!). I now have a New 3DS XL and the 3D is even more lush than before so I will lament when they stop making games to support the 3D function. I'm yet to get Fire Emblem Fates so I'm going to savour every minute of its stereoscopic goodness.
I got into an argument with this guy at a New Years Eve party about it. Yeah I was a bit inebriated! Basically he was saying that he wasn't going to pay the £7.99 for it and I laid into him haha! I said that was CHEAP for a Mario game and he should be grateful for that. There's heaps of content, I have easily spent 20 hours on it over christmas and new year and it's ridiculous you would be able to get such a valuable IP for free. Micro-transactions are awful and are there to suck up your money in the long run and that's not what Nintendo is about. People have missed the point, drives me MAD! He agreed with me eventually haha.
That totally makes sense that the resolution is higher when docked, the screen is ridiculously bigger so it's simply not necessary to have that resolution on the go, total waste of battery.
Also worth noting that the Nintendo Switch was the 9th searched consumer tech product. The only game system, the rest phones. Not bad for a 3 min launch video!
@Peach64 I think Nintendo might have put a bit more effort into it that 2 programmers over 3 months haha. This is HUGE for them and needs to be incredible as their name, Mario's name and the potential new NX customers are all riding on it.

@TeslaChippie EXACTLY. The screen is obviously way smaller so why would it need such high res?! Makes total sense

@SanderEvers I agree actually. No need for the tone of this piece @nintendolife . Just comes across quite negatively when it's not necessary.
