Re: WWE 2K25 Online Shutdown Date Revealed Just Months After Switch 2 Release

RootsGenoa

Preservation is very important but people are being delusional about online services. This game has a robust selection of offline modes anyway, so what's the point of maintaining the online modes if (almost) everyone has moved on? Do you really want to wait for hours to find a match? Even if you manage to force publishers to keep the servers alive, you can't force players to keep playing.

Re: Review: WWE 2K25 (Switch 2) - The Best Wrestling Game You'll Find On A Switch

RootsGenoa

I'll probably wait for a sale anyway (these games get on sale pretty quickly usually), but I was slightly disappointed with 2K23. It had tons of content, sure, but I didn't like the gameplay that much, especially the convoluted countering system... Which is why I ended playing Fight Forever a lot more, even though it's very lacking in the content department. That being said, Fight Forever has been abandoned for a year now, so a lot of the new wrestlers are not included... I wish I liked WWE more, because I'll have to get the DLC with Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer immediately.

Re: PSA: Do Your Switch 2 Joy-Con Disconnect In Docked Mode? It Might Be The HDMI Cable You're Using

RootsGenoa

@BrintaPap @AnonyQ @dskatter Thanks, I didn't realize it was that short for starters. My TV only has two HDMI ports, but it's my Xbox and Blu-ray player that share a port, even though they still use their respective HDMI cable since I use a splitter.
That being said, I try to always use the official cables for consoles, and re-use old cables for Blu-ray players or retro consoles (Analogue stuff) that are not that picky.

Re: Switch 2 Joy-Con 'HD Rumble' Won't Be As Loud As It Was On Switch

RootsGenoa

That's a good thing, mostly because a lot of third parties don't know how to use HD rumble and turn it to the max (I even had to turn it off in some games). That being said, I was also disappointed with Mario & Luigi Brothership in that regard; it's mostly in cutscenes but it often makes the Switch squeak like in some third party games.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Mario's Picross

@rvcolem1 It's possible, yes. And I admit it's relevant in terms of marketing because it was 'easier' to sell the game that way (making it more exciting), but I still think it's misleading though.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Mario's Picross

RootsGenoa

None of them really convey what Picross is, though. And I didn't pick Europe #2 for another reason: it looks like Mario is dressed as an explorer or something, which can make you think it's an adventure game.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2: Everything We Know About The New Console

I have a new idea for the new button, that makes sense since it's located just below the home button. If you assume the Switch 2 will be able to offer quick resume to several games at a time like the Xbox Series (it has as much RAM as the Series S after all), that button could allow you to go from a game to another, like Alt-Tab on PC.

Re: Goodboy Galaxy Developer Dramatically Cuts Ties With Physical Distributor

RootsGenoa

What a mess. I had no problem with FPG before (I think they even sent me a game for free), but I admit I'm torn here. As a matter of fact, I happened to have checked their blog a few days ago and they haven't posted anything about the problem being resolved, so I find very convenient to claim it is now, while claiming they can't fulfill the shipping "because" of the developer's behavior... And that problem was always weird to me since there are many other publishers of homebrew games that provide quality releases.
To be fair, I only sent $9 of shipping fees to FPG, but I don't see how the developer could have other physical editions made without getting their Kickstarter money back.

Re: 'Croc' Comparison Video Shows A Solid Yet Familiar Graphical Evolution

RootsGenoa

@Kienda I can see that, but tweets don't always display properly (or take some time to), and there are cases where you just want to embed the video, without the comment (it's really a pb for my website because I like to write the comment myself, and I post every week digests with dozens of videos). So the better thing to do imho is posting on both networks, especially when you have a YT account which is Argonaut's case.
