This game doesn't interest me, but with switch sales that high I wouldn't be surprised to hear that a port of monster hunter world is coming to switch.
This update sounds awesome! Just started playing splatoon 2, only level 8, but it is so much fun I try to play a few matches every night before bed. Interesting the level cap is 99, I have played 42 matches total so far and won half of them and usually finish top on my team. Is there something I am missing to level up faster?
@Octane I clicked the link at the bottom of the article and was able to view the full charts, but it would definitely be more convenient to just post the full charts themselves rather than a link to them.
@JamesR while I know this isn't a popular opinion I am really enjoying Star Wars battlefront 2. Have only played a few missions in the campaign so far but it has been a lot of fun, and the gameplay in the multiplayer is top notch. Combat feels so good in both the on foot shooting and the space battles. Heros vs villains is also a blast to play. It's a shame that such a great game is being overshadowed by a poor progression system and microtransations because the gameplay itself is everything I wanted from a Star Wars game. I hope EA still sticks with the plan of providing free DLC for the game when they reinstate microtransations because it will give the game longevity. It worked well for halo 5 and with some tweaking battlefront 2 could become an outstanding game overall as well.
@Nassov don't sleep on splatoon 2. I have been playing a lot of destiny 2 and halo 5 on Xbox, but this weekend I finally booted up splatoon 2 and it was a blast! Also I'm not the biggest overwatch fan so I'd rather have hearthstone than overwatch on switch. Especially since I deleted it off my phone to free up memory.
I'll be playing some destiny 2 iron banner and probably a little halo 5 because I just can't get enough. Beyond that I will continue playing dragonball xenoverse 2 on the switch.
@rjejr I am pumped for this release and a buddy of mine who has already played the game on xb1 is gonna double dip on switch. The portability is too good an offer to pass up and this game for DBZ fans is a must have. I do agree that all DLC that has been released so far should be included but I still am fine with paying full price to have this game in switch.
I would like to have both games, but before we get into confirming this game for switch how about you confirm a release date for dragon ball xenoverse 2...? Thought we'd get one at E3 since it was said to be a fall release date...? Seriously how much longer do we need to wait to know when fall games are launching? Makes no sense to me and fall is right around the corner. How can you even begin to measure demand for this game when you can't even give a release date for a game set to come out in a few months?
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I wouldn't say he is always lying, but rather that he is always putting a PR spin on things. Also hard to say he isn't a president and is just a PR BS merchant when we only get to hear about his public statements but not what his day to day duties and tasks are.
I am so pumped for Ittle Dew 2+!!!!! I played the original on mobile and it is by far the best phone game I ever played, and I played a lot of hearthstone on my phone. Cannot wait to dive into the sequel!
I really want to support 3rd parties but the fall slate is starting to get crowded, and we still have few dates... Is this date gonna be revealed in the Nintendo spotlight? Also I remember seeing an article on polygon or something saying dragon ball xenoverse 2 was coming this fall but then I have heard nothing else about that release. Is that still happening?
I own a xb1, switch and a PS4. Though I did just let my nephews borrow my PS4 and the xb1 is basically a halo 5 machine. Dunno how to properly balance multiple consoles and the switch is always with me due to it being portable. Also have a 3ds but haven't touched that thing since the switch came into my life.
I'll probably play handheld the most because that is how I typically play the switch anyways. If a buddy comes over then I'll just single joycon it like I do when playing Mario kart with friends.
Not too worried about it only being 720, gameplay is what is most important and being able to play on the tv and also on the go will make enjoying the gameplay more convenient.
If this is true and we do get a Zelda mobile game I hope it is similar to Ittle Dew. Idk how many of you played this title, but this website reviewed it for the eshop release and gave it an 8/10.
I played it on mobile and fell in love with the title and would give it a 9/10. The touchscreen controls took me some getting used to but once I figured out you could enlarge the touchscreen d-pad I had little difficulty with the controls and it did not detract from the amazing experience. The puzzles are clever and it was a nice title to scratch that Zelda itch when I didn't have a portable console with me.
If Nintendo can give me a one time purchase 2d Zelda gameplay experience similar to Ittle Dew then I am super hyped! For anyone reading this who hasn't played Ittle Dew, give the game a shot and don't be intimidated by touchscreen controls. I'm sure the controls feel better on a console, but i never had more fun playing a game on my mobile phone and being able to have that experience without having to bust out a console was amazing imo.
@DarthFoxMcCloud everything you said in comments 23 and 24 I 100% agree with. From the sounds of this preview this is going to be a good game and a switch version would be awesome.
Streetpass is a cool feature that is missed on the switch, but I hope that when we get more news about the switches online network that maybe features like miiverse and streetpass could be added, though I think it's a long shot.
If they are going to focus of 2017 games, I hope they would at least provide release windows of games through March 2018 to get us through the first year of the switch and near the end of the fiscal year.
Only ones I think the switch needs to get as ports are super Mario maker and smash bros 4. Otherwise I would rather have new installments in the series, but smash won't see another version for a long long time and mario maker is a creation tool so a port with some new features added wouldn't be too bad. I'm so pumped for this E3 and I hope they announce a smash and Mario maker port along with Pokémon stars and a 2d metroid, but now I'm just dreaming.
This is a great compromise and hopefully a good example of a solution other companies can use to make switch owners not feel taken advantage of due to higher retail cost. Saw a preview for this game on gamespot and it looks good. I'm looking forward to reading what the reviews will have to say. I just hope the game isn't pushed back too far on the switch. Nintendo still needs comparable software sales, to what the other consoles will get, in order to keep encouraging devs and publishers to put their games on the switch.
The trailer looked interesting enough I guess, but the music didn't sound too good imo. Will probably wait for reviews before picking this up, but I will have to get through more Zelda before that happens.
@N8tiveT3ch kamiko was $5 and it looks like an amazing game. Will definitely pick up kamiko and shovel knight for a 3rd time once I am done with Zelda.
I just hope this has all the modes the other systems will get. I'll probably get it for the switch regardless because being able to play on the go and on the tv is just too good to pass up though!
I still think it's a little early for the "it prints money" but the early momentum is very encouraging. I am very excited for E3 also but since I didn't get my switch until the end of April I still have a lot of Zelda and Mario kart to chew through before I should even think about getting new games.
Interestingly today was the first day I hooked the switch up to the tv. Had a buddy come over and we played a couple rounds of Mario kart. It's cool to have two controllers out of the box, but they really are hand cramp inducing.
Finally played some Zelda on the tv and gotta say the colors didn't seem as vibrant on the tv as they do in handheld mode, but the game still played great.
I do think over time we will see the switch marketed more as a handheld. I think that could happen sooner rather then later depending on the type of 3rd party support. If it is just a Nintendo and indie machine then in my mind it is more a successor to the vita, but with the added benefits of Nintendo games and that's not a bad thing imo.
Caved and got that $500 GameStop bundle with botw and expansion pass, mario kart 8 deluxe, and 128gb memory card, ships on 5/5. Always liked golf games, wish this was regular golf rather than mini, but depending on reviews will check this out.
@electrolite77 Exactly! Who needs a vita , 3ds, or Wii U when you have a switch? And the vita was an indie game paradise. Hoping all those devs jump ship to the switch
@Niinbendo I also agree that if something isn't report worthy to just let it be. At the same time who am I to make the choice for others? I like they gave the option to ignore because more options allows for a more customized user experience and I think that is typical a good thing for a website to shoot for.
@Utena-mobile I am curious to see the results too. It would be interesting to see how users of Nintendolife answered versus users who found the survey through another site.
Nintendo should give us more NS news prior to 2017, if any of it is bad news they get it out the way early. If they provide us with specs and features of the console in 2016 they can spend all of 2017 showing why the games are amazing. For me at least, the games are the most important part so if they end with a steady stream of revealing good games for the system I think they should have good launch sales.
Basically I think the reveal was good, even though investors clearly didn't, I am assuming something in the specs or features of the system will draw negative press, and then they can end on a really high note with amazing games and that would be our lasting impression prior to launch.
@Rin-go despite the negativity, part of the reason I even check the comment section is the see what @rjejr has to say, because the opinions typically seem pretty considered and every article I click on they have commented on lol
@Dgrin I think hearthstone is a real game and it is on mobile. Honestly the convenience of having it on my phone makes it my most played game. If Nintendo can make an experience as deep as that then I am very excited.
I would love if somehow this could come to the 3ds. I was hoping Nintendo would give me a 2d metroid, but since that didn't happen I just want to believe they will help bring this game to both of their systems.
