This is probably the first time since the switch has been out that it doesn’t have a game I’m currently playing.
For this weekend I’ll probably be playing halo 5. They just dropped some new weapon skins and gonna grind out some wins to get those. Will probably also play some more of the new COD. So far I am really liking the multiplayer. They slightly upped the time to kill and added a health bar above and I think it made a big difference
Every game should support the pro controller and then let the consumer decide. It is a traditional controller I don’t even understand how this keeps happening.
I hope I win! Game sounds interesting and I would like to give it a shot, but after reading the review this isn’t a game I want to pay for at this point in time. A free download code would be great though
@BadWaluigi2 ok I watched your video. You had a lot of good comments and clips disproving a lot of the “justification” provided for why the pro controller isn’t supported. My only gripe is I would have liked to hear some of your commentary on this topic. Good video overall though.
@XenoShaun good point, I also do not know if 1-2 switch supports the pro. But I am not jumping down their throats, I still plan on buying the game (pending reviews), but I think limiting control options is never the best choice for the consumer and risks confusing a lot of people.
@FTL just because you personally think it would be hard to use doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be someone’s preferred method... for example Mario Kart offers a wide range of control options one of which is the steering wheel accessory that’s used motion control. For me I think using the motion control made that game harder but for others that was their go to way to play. Having more options is always better. And it’s really would not be hard to explain titling a controller to do various things. They have used standard controllers in past Mario party games so I don’t understand why you think they couldn’t do it now. Also what mini game have you seen couldn’t be played with the pro controller?
@XenoShaun right the pro controller is optional but it comes straight from Nintendo and the name “pro controller” kinda makes you think this is the controller to get if you are serious about gaming and want to take yourself to the next level. I’m not gonna go as far as to say it’s anti-consumer, but it definitely adds to market confusion that the premium controller for Nintendo’s newest console isn’t supported by all first party games.
@uhhhhhhhh what specific joycon functions are there that the pro controller doesn’t have? I know the right joycon has some addition tech the left doesn’t have but the pro controller does everything the left joycon does.
The 2018 touch version was my first time playing this type of game or really any soccer video game, aside from the Mario strikers ones, and it was a surprisingly addictive game. Excited for more info on this one.
It’s like these companies don’t realize consumers have a finite amount of money to spend and jamming everything in the second half of the year is not always the best environment to ensure your game will sell. I think if this had been delayed to January/February of 2019 people would be more inclined to pick it up because that is usually a slower period. As it stands October to December are looking to be pretty packed. I’ll probably still pick this one up but I would hate to not get another From Software game on switch due the far too common “poor sales” excuse.
Is this just matchmaking? All top video game players look like studs in matchmaking. If she was doing this in a tournament that would be a little different. Anyways this isn’t all that surprising... the best halo 5 player is like 16 and his team just won the tournament this past weekend. These young kids just got more nimble fingers than us old hands.
I would love it if the comment section in articles could be reworked. If I am commenting at something another person said it is difficult to keep up with the conversation when every new comment just gets put at the bottom, especially if that person had made multiple comments but you are only trying to respond to a particular one. I think it would be better to have a comment that is directly replying to someone to be under the comment you are replying to. I hope that makes sense.
I would also love to be able to upvote and down vote comments. I would also like to know which user upvoted me, I can understand why you would hide who is downvoting a comment.
Aside from those things I would just like to see better editing of the articles so less typos make it through and more articles on the weekend. I like reading this website and being involved in the discussions but that is difficult during the week because I work full time and most of the time when articles are posted it’s when I am at work. Once I have free time there aren’t any fresh articles being posted and the people who would be commenting have already moved on so there is less discussion.
I do like that on some controversial topics (like the banned Pokémon episode) you still kept the comment section open. In the past there have been articles where the comment section was closed, but in general I think the community that frequently visits this site are mainly looking for an open and honest discussion and it is generally done in a respectful manner so I am glad that you can post those kinds of articles and trust that your readers won’t get too out of hand in the comment section.
@Yorumi in response to comment 91 this opinion article basically sums up why black people live in homes without two parents. Mass incarceration disproportionately targeted black people (more times then not it was a black man), and yes it was the democrat Bill Clinton who was one of the worst offenders
@Yorumi I literally had to reread my post to try to make sense of why you choose to reply to me. I don’t believe a single word I typed attacked anyone or even hinted that I don’t consider an alternative perspective, I actively do, which is also part of the reason why I concluded by saying both parties would come away better educated after having a discussion.
Anyone who is blaming you for the actions of your ancestors is uninformed. You are you own person. The only point I was trying, and clearly failed, to articulate was that America in general does not want to tackle these kinds of topics. I am glad that we are getting a chance to discuss this because you will hopefully see where I am coming from just like I am trying to see where you are coming from.
On an additional note, just because none of the people alive today were part of the initial cause of America’s race relations issues does not mean that we can just wash our hands of the problem. We as citizens have a duty to try to better our country and part of that is trying to establish the notion of “life, liberty and the pursue of happiness” for everyone. We as a society have made advancements but injustices still take place to this day. I am not pinpointing a single event, I could bring up countless examples of injustices that happened hundreds of years ago or even just yesterday but that misses the point. I want people to engage in discourse, I would love for others to continually seek to understand why someone holds the beliefs they do, and if they can find no common ground then amicable agree to disagree. In no way am I saying a single group is responsible for the problems that exist today, what I am arguing is that we need to be willing to address that there are real issues that do exist and work to solve them.
As a black person myself I am not offended by the image of ash that is shown above. Obviously I haven’t seen the episode so I cannot state if it does or doesn’t contain something offensive, but I do think it was wise to not release it in the USA. Blackface is a sensitive thing in America and when used to belittle people who look like me it does bother me. I think a lot of the issue stems from people in America trying to sweep the racial tensions under the rug rather than addressing them. People say slavery was years and years ago, get over it, but yet when it comes to other issues like 9/11 which while bad did not affect as many people they say never forget. Or people will say things like I don’t see race which is just pretending the issue doesn’t exist rather than actually trying to solve it. It makes us feel belittled. Especially since the civil rights movement wasn’t that long ago and on top of that America still faces other very pressing race issues that I won’t get into on this comment section. I just wish more people in this comment section would try to see things from others perspective rather than immediately stating it is ridiculous. There is usually a good reason why someone is offended by something and if they state they are then use that as an opportunity to ask why, get clarification, discuss the issue and both parties come out better educated for it.
90% undocked, mainly handheld although there has been a rare table top use here or there. About 10% docked but that is because I rarely play video games when I am at my house.
Is it just me or does it seem like there isn’t much chemistry between these two. I can’t quite put my finger on it because they seem find individually and they present good info. It just seems like they don’t play off each other too well.
Overall I am happy Pokemon leaked. Gave me time to digest all the news that would have upset me and now I can just sit back and enjoy the game they are going to release without being disappointed that it isn’t exactly what I want out of a Pokémon game.
@URAmk2 ok if we want to be real stock jumps and stock falls are always based on assumptions and market perception. I am not back tracking at all. I just live in reality and am able to know that the stock in a company is a representation of how valuable people perceive it to be. Idk if you live in the USA or not but the dollar also has no intrinsic value and it is only worth something because people believe it is.
@HobbitGamer I agree, those who dumped the stock over this issue are probably just doing a knee jerk reaction to bad press. This issue while annoying isn’t going to stop people from buying PlayStation games, products or services this gen. I think once the games, mainly the TLOU part 2, drop the stock will skyrocket.
@URAmk2 I am not assuming anything and @HobbitGamer has not pointed out how ignorant the reports are, in fact he even stated that it very well could be inept investors dumping stock. While the reporters who are saying it is due to Fortnite are possibly making assumptions, they are drawing logical conclusions based on facts, interviews and recent events. I ask once again, what are you basing your arguments on other than just not wanting to accept what everyone is reporting?
@URAmk2 dude in my second post comment number 80 I posted two articles: the first explicitly stated Sony shares dropped due to Fortnite backlash and the second said they could face global backlash. I get no one likes to be wrong but you are refuting my news sources with your own speculation without providing anything to support it.
I am not the one who claimed Sony shares dropped. I am telling you reporters, lots of them, are stating they dropped and it is due to Fortnite. If you disagree with those reporters then provide support for your position. Link a current article that directly refutes what they reporters are claiming the reason to be. Can reporters be wrong, sure they can because they are human, but when you have this many reporters stating this is a big issue and it caused share prices to drop then that is likely the cause since it is their job to report on this news with accuracy. If you disagree with their stance then Provide facts to disprove it. Link an article that shows these reporters have a history of getting their facts wrong or link something that directly states Sony shares dropped because of “X” and not because of Fortnite.
And no one thinks Sony is doomed. They are currently the front runner in the video game console market and no one is seriously denying that. No need to speak in hyperbole. If you have facts present them. If not then admit it. I enjoy a good debate but we need to keep our positions grounded and baseless speculation that no other news source is supporting followed up by exaggerations is not a strong or persuasive position.
@HobbitGamer @URAmk2 I think it’s pretty safe to say Fortnite is the main cause when you have this many sites reporting on it and it just happened... what else has happened that could have caused this and provide facts and not just your speculation. I already linked an article. Here is another saying it’s due to Fortnite
@EasyDaRon @URAmk2 @ThainEshKelch @HobbitGamer @dew12333 I dunno why you guys just flat out state the drop wasn’t due to Fortnite when other news sites are covering the story the same way this site did.
Honestly getting sick of everyone complaining about clickbait. The title of the article is supposed to get you to want to click on it. Full stop. Period. That does not make it clickbait. Clickbait articles have no substance and they are just looking to get more views. The content of this article makes it not clickbait. What do people who cry clickbait want out of a title? Could the article have added an “s” to “character” sure, but lacking one letter doesn’t mean this is automatically clickbait. Honestly could have been a typo and then figured, eh not worth editing one letter in because the headline still makes sense without it.
This looks kind of annoying having a wire attached rather than it clamping onto the console itself so I think I will stick with my switchcharge... or Scharge since Nintendo forced them to remove switch from the name.
@Blizzia agree with almost every word you typed. Honestly not a fan of the motion controls in Splatoon 2 (never played the first one). Gyro aiming in Zelda botw was fine I guess but still preferred it to be off. Wii sports is the only true motion control gaming I have throughly enjoyed. I don’t understand why they would make this mandatory when there are perfectly good thumb sticks we could be using. I honestly don’t see how they can think this is a game for everyone if this is true and motion controls are mandatory.
@gordjscott I also have shaky hands (though yours sound a bit worse) so I agree that I hope it is very very very slight if it is true that motion is required.
@thesilverbrick where was it said that they are working on a more in-depth game to reassure the core audience? I keep seeing people and reporters say this but I cannot find anything official and everything I do find official makes me doubt the 2019 games will be what I want or what others are expecting it to be.
It seems a lot of additional info has come from this Eurogamer report and then the Q&A that took place after the announcement.
I have read the Q&A and while it seems the 2019 game will be gen 8 it doesn’t indicate that it will be more focused on the core audience. It just says this is their take on a console Pokémon and next year will be more focused on the handheld features. Imo this doesn’t tell us anything about the depth or what to expect from a gameplay level and with them being so cautious about not overwhelming the casual player isn’t inspiring confidence that they haven’t forgotten the core players.
That looks awesome! How much are the new 2ds xl systems typically selling for nowadays? Not that I will take the plunge since I already have a new 3ds xl that works just fine, but this is tempting.
This is a great idea. I think the eShop is fine as is for daily users but if you are only checking every few months then you are going to miss a lot of games you may potentially like. This would definitely lessen the amount of missed games.
@Anti-Matter Pokémon does have mini games, with an example being Pokémon contests. Could they do more to expand the mini games, sure they could, but to outright say all there is to do in the game is just battle is just flat out false for the later generations.
@Lizuka Since you never played Pokémon go it makes since why you cannot think of anything from that game worth adding to the main games. I like how in Pokémon go you can see The Pokémon in the over world, I like how the game makes catching and seeing the same Pokémon less meaningless, I enjoy to way the game implemented catching Pokémon, I like that the players can join different team factions. Does the game have its flaws? Obviously, but again there are things it did right too.
Honestly when I first heard this rumor last night I was horrified, but after sleeping on it, getting other people’s thoughts and opinions, I think this idea has potential. It’s just can that potential be realized? To me it is smart to capitalize on how successful Pokémon go was/is. I think there are a lot of lapsed gen 1 players that would come back to see a reimagined Kanto region. I just hope they don’t change the game mechanics too much. Adding new and fresh ideas is great, but if they overhaul everything then it is just a spin-off game and not a true mainline game like everyone is hoping. Personally I don’t think this game strays too far from what makes a Pokémon mainline game a Pokémon mainline game, but I could be wrong.

@EasyDaRon @URAmk2 @ThainEshKelch @HobbitGamer @dew12333 I dunno why you guys just flat out state the drop wasn’t due to Fortnite when other news sites are covering the story the same way this site did.

Re: Here's The Best Mario Kart Character According To Actual Science
Honestly getting sick of everyone complaining about clickbait. The title of the article is supposed to get you to want to click on it. Full stop. Period. That does not make it clickbait. Clickbait articles have no substance and they are just looking to get more views. The content of this article makes it not clickbait. What do people who cry clickbait want out of a title? Could the article have added an “s” to “character” sure, but lacking one letter doesn’t mean this is automatically clickbait. Honestly could have been a typo and then figured, eh not worth editing one letter in because the headline still makes sense without it.
Re: Charge Your Switch On The Go With These Officially-Licensed Portable Power Banks
This looks kind of annoying having a wire attached rather than it clamping onto the console itself so I think I will stick with my switchcharge... or Scharge since Nintendo forced them to remove switch from the name.
Re: Motion Controls Will Be Compulsory To Catch Pokémon In Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee
Re: Pokémon Director Junichi Masuda Talks Uniting All Fans, Future Of The Core Series
@thesilverbrick where was it said that they are working on a more in-depth game to reassure the core audience? I keep seeing people and reporters say this but I cannot find anything official and everything I do find official makes me doubt the 2019 games will be what I want or what others are expecting it to be.
It seems a lot of additional info has come from this Eurogamer report and then the Q&A that took place after the announcement.
https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/pokemon-creators-share-more-details/
I have read the Q&A and while it seems the 2019 game will be gen 8 it doesn’t indicate that it will be more focused on the core audience. It just says this is their take on a console Pokémon and next year will be more focused on the handheld features. Imo this doesn’t tell us anything about the depth or what to expect from a gameplay level and with them being so cautious about not overwhelming the casual player isn’t inspiring confidence that they haven’t forgotten the core players.
Re: A 'Hylian Shield Edition' Legend Of Zelda 2DS XL Is Coming Exclusively To GameStop In The US
That looks awesome! How much are the new 2ds xl systems typically selling for nowadays? Not that I will take the plunge since I already have a new 3ds xl that works just fine, but this is tempting.
Re: You Can Now Register Your Email For News On Pokémon For Nintendo Switch
@Dog I’d rather see the pic of Gary with his 10 badges
Re: Here's How A Nindie Developer Thinks The Switch eShop Could Be Improved
This is a great idea. I think the eShop is fine as is for daily users but if you are only checking every few months then you are going to miss a lot of games you may potentially like. This would definitely lessen the amount of missed games.
Re: Rumour: Pokémon Switch News Could Be Coming In The Next Few Weeks
Re: Exclusive: Take A Closer Look At Pokémon-Inspired Kickstarter Success, Monster Crown
@MisterKorman thanks for the info. Hopefully it comes out before the Pokémon on switch releases
Re: Exclusive: Take A Closer Look At Pokémon-Inspired Kickstarter Success, Monster Crown
When would this be coming to switch. It sounds really interesting.
