Rainy Frog is resurrecting its Wii U and 3DS eShop title Plantera for the Nintendo Switch, it has been revealed.
Plantera DX is only confirmed for launch in Japan at the time of writing, and it's not known what additional content it will offer - if any - over the existing versions.
We awarded the Wii U version 6/10 earlier this year, stating that "if you are into relaxing farming games and want a peaceful experience, you should look into buying Plantera, but for some it may a little too simplistic and shallow to hold attention."

Probably gonna pass on this one.
Hmm, interesting looking title, could be good for a day or two's relaxation if it's a budget title.
Plantera NX would have been a better name.Opportunity missed!
More old games. Great.
Wow.
The last minute I saw a Chicken was "farting" an egg. LOL
I never knew if chicken has to fart first before lay an egg. XD
Yeah, not sure why anyone would buy an idle-game on a gaming console. On PC, they certainly can have their charm, especially if you're preoccupied with chatting or doing light work.
But a game with the core mechanic of "waiting a whole bunch" on a dedicated gaming system ?...
Oh well, to each their own i guess, but there are certainly more entertaining games around.
@Einherjar I can kind of see it working in undocked mode. You put the switch down while say watching something on TV or playing other stuff etc. But certainly seems very niche for a console game.
Played 3ds demo and enjoyed it, would be a good Switch title for me.
@XenoShaun Yup, Tabletop mode is actually a rather nice idea here. Haven't thought about that.
But like i said, i get the overall appeal of these "games", but having them on console is still rather weird
I bought this on 3DS without looking at videos or anything else...glad I only paid $2 for it, because this was completely boring and lacked anything that could make it enjoyable...plus, they technically gave you no way to let you know what you are to do next...like unlocking new items to use in the garden and you can't use or buy them even with having the correct funds. Not a game I'd double dip into like I would for Little Inferno (which I'd purchase again for Switch in a heart beat). Other than that, also sad to see more of the games that are already on the Wii U and 3DS making their way onto the Switch too instead of new and fresh ideas, and technically this also shows that more cheap-playing, not-long-lasting titles are going to be pouring out on the Switch, with the good games being lost in that shuffle.
Bought it on wiiU because it was cross buy with our household of 3DS's unless switch version has similar offer i think it could be a tough sell. The wiiU and 3DS games are almost the same as the mobile free to play version except with the in app purchases being able to be bought with in game cash instead. It's a great time waster and was worth buying to be able to pay once and play on half a dozen systems but a tough buy for one.
People would be better off buying Stardew Valley than this game.
Severed animal heads teaching kids at the only thing nature is good for is the commercial exploitation?
There should be riots in the streets
Actually, if cheap, I'll get this for the young un, and I'm a bit partial to realizing games too so it's on the consideration list.
Looks weird.
"Here we come reach for your gun and you better listen well my friend."....oh...my bad I mis read the name
tfw the only article you wrote for Nintendo Life is mentioned again
Another smartphone game? Thumbs down.
My problem with it is is that it looks like a game that was being developed for phones that was shoved onto 3DS & Wii U at the last minute.
Hopefully it will be more like good 3DS port and less like the awful WiiU port.
It seems this one has one new animal (horse), which rounds up the amount of crops, bushes, trees and animals to 5 each. It's also nice to see the loot hero in the switch version, I wonder why was it removed from the other two.
