New 3DS XL for me. I don't use the 3D frequently, but the 2DS XL just feels and looks so cheap, like they really scrimped on materials.

Amiibos are just so hopelessly mid. If you give them too much functionality, people gripe that they've paywalled features, so as a result it's always something totally inconsequential and underwhelming. People do love buying branded hunks of plastic, tho.

It always makes me laugh when people expect Mario world to have consistent "canon" and lore and coherent timelines and such. It's extremely funny!

Definitely not picking this up, then. The physical release forces me to buy a game I already have on the Switch, which sucks. I guess I'll stick with my Wii version.

Pretty underwhelming, low effort branding on the boots, and a fairly high price. That's a made-in-Japan price on a pair of made-in-China boots.

Fun game! This is one of those rare examples where you can pick up the Gamecube version for peanuts, probably way, way less than this remake will cost. Just saying!

I don't think Nintendo has ever put quite this much effort into backwards compatibility.

This doesn't address low-effort asset flips, like, at all.

I guess I'm just one of those weird people who loves Kirby Air Ride on the Gamecube, so I'm all-in on this one.
