The first thing that hit my brain when they announced these remasters- and I'm SURE I wasn't alone- was "I need a physical Switch release for this!" If they just released physically in normal quantities LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO, they'd sell a kazillion of them. (As evidenced by the fact that they were all gone a few minutes later.) Why would they do this to us, sure, but why would they do this to themselves?
The price is a bit steep, but Squenix could have just as easily released them on individual cartridges for $30 each and it wouldn't be the WORST deal. It's not like you'll be done with the series in a week or two.
Two eyes but with a dollop of sunscreen at the top of his nose that video games of the day didn't have the fidelity to portray, which has been misinterpreted in other media.
Fire Emblem fans have become accustomed to Day 1 DLC, for better or worse. I'm getting the Divine Edition, so you'd better believe I'll be getting the DLC pack. I want every ounce of available Fire Emblem.
Also, that FE1 remix at the end of the Japanese trailer is awesome.
I had some good times with that game. It never demanded much of my real-life money, it was fun to play, the multiplayer was solid, and the story was exceptionally well-written. There was a perpetually optimistic tone to everything, and the messages underneath were often empowering and encouraging.
I tapered off when I found it was taking too much time away from other games but checked back in when I found out it was closing so I could check out the end of the story. Glad I could get that closure.
I will say that the remaster of Wind Waker is the best version that will ever be able to be played. They can make it look prettier on Switch, but they can't give me a world map in the palm of my hand that I can access without having to pause.
I have been a customer service representative, and let me tell you, they need this stuff. Being yelled at and berated and threatened and insulted all day long, 5 days a week, takes a toll. And when the companies say, "Well they get to do that. Do your best to make them happy, but you can't give them what they want" it takes an even larger toll. I'm glad that Nintendo is giving employees an out from being abused all day long.
I was prepared to have to get used to Pratt as Mario, but I really didn't mind. It seems right, even though it's different.
And Jack Black was actually a really good Bowser. Like I forgot it was him and not just "Bowser" (Who never has much dialogue in the games anyway unless it's an RPG or Sports game) until partway through the trailer..
It's promising that Nintendo is taking ownership of this movie and not just giving it to Illumination and saying, "Do your thing. We disavow any connection with this movie."
I decided to make good on my previous post and booted up the game to finish the last 8 chapters. Took a while, and I had to upgrade a bunch of stuff to take on the last few bosses, but it was worth the journey and I'm glad I have closure. It was always the writing that drove me to this game. There's an optimism underneath it all that you don't see often. Felt good to close the book.
I've never understood why Konami, which has a history of good relations with Nintendo seems to never want one of their biggest Castlevania games (A franchise which ALSO has a good history with Nintendo!) to come to a Nintendo system.
I liked Paper Mario: Sticker Star. I know it's no Thousand-Year Door, but it's a lot of fun if you just accept it for what it is. Really all the Paper Mario games are pretty good if you don't hold them up to Thousand-Year Door.
So starting with the start makes sense, but if you've made it this far without playing the original, chances are you're not ready for the full thrown-in-the-deep-end Zelda experience. You could go with the most recent, but it's hard to appreciate it without being grounded in Zelda's history.
Link to the Past, though, is timeless. Accessible even to today's picky audiences, and a solid representation of what to expect when you're Zelda-ing.
I dunno if they can unring the bell that has been sounding for the last 2 years. "OK. You guys have been doing a great job of promoting your upcoming contact through direct streams, but- hear me out here- what if you spent an extra 2 million dollars to do the same thing, but with a live audience!?"
I laugh, but I'm part of the reason these games keep coming out. I can't get enough of House Flipper, PC Building Simulator, Train Station Renovation, and their ilk. I wish I could explain it. These games sounded ridiculous to me, too. But then you get one as part of a games bundle, you try it out, and before you know it you've spent a full month virtually restoring run-down old houses so you can turn them over for a profit.
There are MI fans that have seen the art and imagined the game that must result from that art, and decided not to take the return. My heart aches for those fans because they're missing out on the true-blue, perfectly-in-spirit, wonderful, challenging, brilliantly puzzling game they've been longing for for 20 years. They think they're making a stand for what they think is an affront to the series, but they're only hurting themselves.
I hope there will be an option to turn it off. When playing one Picross game (Either Murder by Numbers or Super Puzzle Makeout League), I found that my fingers tended to graze the edge of the screen while playing with the controller, which would move my cursor and mess up my Picrossing.
Konami really isn't kidding about bringing back some fan favorite franchises. As someone who gamed back when Konami made GAMES (darnit!), I hope this bodes well for a full-on Konami revival.
Well there it is. All of my "Work a real job and have more fun than you do at your actual job" simulators now live on the Switch. I should just retire so I can pretend to renovate houses, clean things with power washers, build PCs and run a gas station.
It sounds weird, but I've been hooked on games like this lately. House Flipper, Train Station Renovation, Gas Station Simulator, PC Building Simulator... I don't know if I want a new job, or if I just like simulating doing something actually productive.
Chrono Trigger, Romancing SaGa, Live A Live, Bahamut Lagoon. Square has never ever been good at releasing titles that sound natural or tell you anything about the game.
I've had this on my Steam wishlist for years, but never quite wanted to pay full price for it, and it never goes on sale. On the Switch, though, I'll be happy to drop full price.
I feel like Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered is getting lost in the shuffle. Now all we need is SaGa Frontier 2 and Unlimited SaGa, and we'll have every SaGa game released in the west on Switch!
I have gone from pure excitement to "Wait. How's that going to even work?" I hope it's not waggling the joystick just right. I was never good at Guitaroo Man.

It was "Moist." That is a very bad word.

Wholesome until players figure out how to get past first base.
Re: Random: Sony Alleges That Microsoft Is Trying To Turn It Into Nintendo
Only Nintendo can be Nintendo. Sega tried and got pretty close, but they ended up being Sega, which is generally just fine.
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th November (North America)
I don't think that's the right description for The Oregon Trail.
