Re: Review: Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana (Switch) - An Excellent 'Less Is More' Entry In The Long-Running Series

"May seem a bit too simplistic compared to later entries"
This is, say it with me, NOT. A. CON.
The straightforward nature of the game is one of its biggest strengths. I've actually taken a break from Ys X for the sole reason that it keeps interupting me with overly long cutscenes which brings the pacing of the game down to a crawl.
THIS is how an Ys game should be! Brisk, quick, to the point, challenging and FUN.
I've played through the entire series except for X, and after VIII, this is by far my favourite of the bunch!

Re: SNK Announces ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 3 And Vol. 4 For Switch

NicolausCamp

@HammerGalladeBro I just bought myself one of those little NeoGeo Mini cabinets. Includes KOF94-2003 and more or less every great fighting game, and Metal Slug 1-5. It's a novelty for sure, but I'd much rather play on that little machine than buy these collections which just feel like SNK played spin the wheel when it came to game selections.

Re: Knuckles Series Physical Pre-Orders Appear Online

@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot I've got a region-free blu-ray player, so I know all about the region locking. It was the fact that UHD discs can seemingly be locked as well that I reacted to, as I for sure thought each and every one in that format was supposed to be region free, as that had been previously claimed, which makes this news really disappointing.

Re: Talking Point: What Would Make You Happy To Give Up Physical Games And Go 100% Digital?

NicolausCamp

Xbox set a great precedent for consoles and backwards compatibility, and the PC space is leagues ahead.
Nintendo is the only platform holder where I haven't jumped ship 100% yet, and that's because of the uncertainty of how they've handled things in tha past. With the Wii, 3DS and Wii U eShops closing so soon after the platform has been discontinued, it does not instill confidence in me that Nintendo has a long-term plan for these games and purchases.
I will probably buy more games digitally on Switch 2, as there just isn't a future for physical, but I'd be worried for my Switch 1 digital purchases once the inevitable successor to the Switch 2 rolls around...

Re: Video: Nintendo Land Will Likely Never Come To Switch, But That's Okay

NicolausCamp

@geox30 Gatekeeping much? If they could figure out a good way to make it work on future consoles I'd be all for it, and I DO own a Wii U AND this game. That's just a selfish remark, like a child who won't let others borrow their toys. So the Wii U flopped, does that mean that the gems available on it should be lost to history? Come on, dude!

Re: Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium Brings 32 Classics To Nintendo Switch This July, Here's Your First Look

NicolausCamp

Sure is wierd that Mars Matrix isn't included. It's a high profile title running on CPS2 and from what I gather ISN'T tied up in legal shenanigans...
There are still a couple of games that really should have been included here...
Ring of Destruction: Slammasters II
Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
I get that basically all the remaning high profile CPS2 titles are mostly licensed titles, which would make the rest a real problem to license, but I hope they're not lost in time forever (apart from emulation that is)
