Following on from a Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium leak, the company has now locked in the release date for its second compilation in this series. It'll be launching next month on the 22nd of July for all platforms including the Nintendo Switch. As already confirmed there'll be a whopping 32 classics in this collection.
Each game in the second collection will also be available for individual purchase for $3.99 USD or your regional equivalent. Otherwise, you can order the "full bundle". Anyone who does pre-order or at least purchases the bundle "shortly after" launch will receive "Display Frames Set 1" DLC for free.
Like the collection before it, the 2nd Stadium release will include plenty of quality-of-life features. There are multiple save states, the ability to save and load mid-game, a rewind button, game speed customisation, and difficulty adjustments. Additional options include visual features, and there'll even be an invincibility mode as a free DLC.
The game's unique "CASPO Class system" is also back, allowing players to earn points through games, and compete in timed and score challenge modes - unlocking a collection of visual frames, and 2D and 3D rendered cabinet designs.
Capcom's also got some bonuses and collaborations planned. For a limited time Street Fighter II - The World Warrior is a free download in the original Capcom Arcade Stadium. and if you pre-order or purchase the Capcom Fighting Collection shortly after launch, you'll get a free download of Three Wonders in Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium.

I like this line up more than the first one
i'm just glad we get another piece of delightful art for it because i love these spreads
also, "Gan Sumoku?" gun.smoke, right?
Wheres Super Mega Street Puzzle Fighter Alpha Hyper 4 Turbo?
I might get this for some of the Street Fighter games...i feel like the quality might be better than whats on Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.
Im a bit sad that theres Alpha 2 Gold, or Alpha 3 Upper though.
I have all the SF games with that collection and plan to get the Darkstalkers collection. The only thing this has other than those that interests me is Sonson and that’ll be free so nice.
I really like the line up and by joining vol 1 and 2 of CAS, we'll have a wonderful selection of games running great! I'll probably not buy the fighting collection and get this one instead. The Dsrkstalkers game in this collection are my favorite. Maybe I'll get both. Maybe...
wow this is great
It's odd they're coming out with a collection including a couple Darkstalkers games and some others that are also in the Capcom Fighting Collection a month after that's out. I've got the Fighting Collection already pre-ordered and I'll use that for the overlapping games, but I'm still tempted to grab this as well. The Mega Man games in particular have my interest since I love that series and I've never played the arcade games. I'm not sure how many Street Fighter games here overlap with the Street Fighter collection since I still haven't picked that one up, but if there are any that are just in this collection, that makes it even more tempting...
Well, they pretty much eclipsed the old Capcom Classics Collection. As long as the input latency is as good as CAS1 is now out of the gate, then these will be the new definitive collections.
I wish Namco would make something this comprehensive! Seriously, what is stopping them from giving us a new Namco Museum that contains:
-Air Combat
-Pole Position
-Cyber Sled
-Tekken
-Ridge Racer
-Soul Edge
-Galaga 88
-Steel Gunner
-Mario Kart GP (Switch exclusive)
I have downloaded Street Fighter 2 World Warrior immediately when I got this news
3 games on my Capcom Arcade Stadium.
I'm trying to understand the difference between the two listing for this currently on the NA eShop. One promotes Son Son as the free game, while the "bundle" (both are $39.99) mentions Gun Smoke and the Display Frames Set 1 (this one also allows you to buy each game individually). Does anyone know what the actual difference between these two listings, if any, and whether you get BOTH Son Son and Gun Smoke as free games?
Thanks in advance for any insights.
Or you could be a sane person and use MAME and play online with anyone.
Man this collection is so stacked. I'm definitely gonna pick up some of these. Kinda dissapointed that they're now $4 individually instead of $2 but that's still a pretty good price to pay for a damn good arcade game
@SteamEngenius If you don't support releases officially like this, Capcom won't bother to try bringing them back again. The whole reason thwy're making another arcade stadium is because the first did well
Actually looking forward to playing mega man power battle.
@ReaperMelia The Street Fighter Collection has some extra games, but more importantly it has a feature missing from Capcom Stadium: It has online versus play. That could very important to soem. As for the the Fighting Collection, if you have Capcom Stadium 1 & 2, there is only one game on there that isn't included. So it's weird that Capcom is releasing it at all.
@Fighting_Game_Loser
Day one for me! I wish we could get a rerelease of the three Midway Arcade Treasures titles!
May have to get in on this just for Saturday Slam Masters.
Serviceable. A lot of deep cuts this time around such as Pnickies and LED Storm/Mad Gear, which I say, “the more obscure, the better” the only thing I do have issue with is that there’s a lot of overlap with previous and upcoming collections, like the fighting collection which has Darkstalkers, this one has it too
@BanjoPickles It's too bad Midway is dead and all their IPs were scoop up by different companies so that won't gonna happen.
No Mars Matrix still
While I like the new selections, I'm just pissed that Capcom is just throwing in games which we already got through multiple collection. Kinda lame that although both Capcom Arcade Stadia could connect online, it's mostly for rankings and achievements and not challenging or playing with other people worldwide.
The fact that this is two separate collections confirms my original idea that this should just be hamster arcade archives single releases. I hate opening and closing these collections to play one or two games and then you have to remember where those games are.
Rally 2011 LED STORM has not only one of the most stupid names ever, it's also one of the worst games I have ever played.
super annoying controls
Wait for word about lag. Some games from the first batch were bad. If it’s not at least at the retroarch benchmarks, I don’t bother
@thinkhector Yeah, I know the dedicated collections have online play while these don't. I just find it odd they'd have so much overlap between the Fighting Collection and this new collection that comes out a month later.
Sure is wierd that Mars Matrix isn't included. It's a high profile title running on CPS2 and from what I gather ISN'T tied up in legal shenanigans...
There are still a couple of games that really should have been included here...
Ring of Destruction: Slammasters II
Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
I get that basically all the remaning high profile CPS2 titles are mostly licensed titles, which would make the rest a real problem to license, but I hope they're not lost in time forever (apart from emulation that is)
@SaikazuSTG The only real surprise here is Rally 2011 LED Storm. Pre-release version of the game that most of the EU LED Storm ports are based on with some interesting differences from the widely released version (LED Storm/Mad Gear). Also, did we really need two recent collections (or even 1) with Hyper Street Fighter II?
Interesting, but these collections should have been physical too, and the line-up massively overlaps with Capcom Beat'em Up Bundle and the upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection, so I'll end up picking some games up individually.
@NicolausCamp They got to save some games for 3rd Stadium
@ReaperMelia 2nd Stadium will also let you download games individually, for $4 each! so you could get both Mega Man arcade games for $8, which is very worth it.
they're like fast boss-rush modes, with co-op play, different paths, and lots of easter eggs.
Still no Cadillacs & Dinosaurs?
@SteamEngenius mame is a pain in the ass to set up.
@BanjoPickles Definitely!
Three Wonders? ...yeah I'll buy it.
@NicolausCamp Well... That's Capcom Arcade (2nd) Stadium. And CAPCOM includes ONLY INFERIOR ARCADE VERSIONS, INSTEAD OF GREATER CONSOLE PORTS... It's just easier to include emulated arcade versions, instead of port of the console port. Same crap with the Neo Geo games. PS1 version of The Last Blade is better than the original. Dreamcast version of The Last Blade 2 is better than the original. PS2 version of The King of Fighters 2002 is better than the original. And so list goes on... And I still want to know something about arcade versions of Vampire(Darkstalkers) - will Dee be playable at least in one of the titles? Dee - is Donovan, who got corrupted to the dark side. His sprite looks like a hybrid of Donovan(head) and Demitri Maximoff(body).
Looking forward to the Mega Man arcade games and Saturday Night Slam Masters! But disappointed part 2 isn’t on the list.
@CharlieGirl That's true! I'll just do that then given how many of these overlap with their other collections. I wasn't sure if these were just updated arcade ports of the originals or new games, but that premise sounds really interesting! I'm excited to try them out.
@SteamEngenius yes. Just like you can steal movies from torrents instead of going to the cinema or paying for it.
Not everybody wants that.
Mainly bought the 1st collection for the shm’ups (spent tonnes of hours on Carrier Air Wing) but this one at first glance has a weaker selection. After a strong start I believe the success of Street Fighter II and other fighting games started to influence the genres they concentrated on.
I’ll wait till I can read and analyse a full list on their official website.
I can also keep dreaming for a Compile, Raizing and/or Taito Arcade Collection.
I love old retro games.
This collection of games doesn't look very interesting. So much overlap with their other collections, and so many obscure games.
But I will still buy them all when they go on sale.
Some of the game choices are puzzling. This makes both the street fighter and the fighting collection a bit pointless. What I would like to see is the games from the first Arcade Stadium playable on this one, so we don't need 2 different launchers to run the games and they're all together.
I wanted to get SFII on the first collection, now that it's free, is time to jump on it!
@BanjoPickles Yeah that would be very cool. Warner Bros does almost nothing with Midway's old ip's and it would be nice for them to at least get a collection of their games out
@rSp8 I'd say it's worth it solely for the new key art in my opinion lmao
Oh how I wish they would publish physical versions for both stadiums!!!
It's a good line up. However, there is an ineviteable slight overlap with other existing & soon to be released collections.
The only thing I like is the darkstalkers, street fighter alpha 3, puzzle fighter and megaman not sure ill buy this since there's few I like I wish marvel vs capcom was in that collection.
Black Tiger... Yusssss. Honestly, I always buy these collections for the history more than anything.
@Gamergirl94 I believe the software itself is free, it’s the individual games you have to pay for so you grab what you want. That’s how it works with the first one. Call it Virtual Arcade.
I was expecting there to be some overlapping games that are gonna be in the Fighting Collection, but it's not a big deal since Fighting Collection does arguably have more options for it's games (and a HUGE museum). Also YESSSSSSS 1943 KAI!!!
@Kermit1 with all of the fighting games I was hoping for Powerstone
@Ebellis1991 yes, I was too... but sadly I don't think it will show up anytime soon
Many titles already released multiple times, where is aliens vs predators, the punisher and cardillacs and dinosaurs?
@jrt87 I have beat ‘‘em up collection and street fighter collection, I don’t this collection at all. I hope they do consoles collection next, releasing games from genesis, snes, Saturn and ps1.
@MontyCircus ya just bunch of 1980 games, street fighters game and games from beat ‘‘em up collection, which I have. People are asking for aliens and predators, punisher and Cadillacs and dinosaurs.
I skipped Beat ‘Em Up Collection because nothing there appealed to me (and I already have the Double Dragon and Kunio-kun games to satiate that itch), but the upcoming Fighting Collection is really tempting, and I also have the Street Fighter anniversary release (plus Ultra Street Fighter II), and I’ve noticed quite a lot of overlap (unless I’m mistaken), so I don’t get the point of these releases.
I’d jump on both Capcom Arcade collections if they issue physical releases, but otherwise, it’s a pass from me).
Love the front end with all those incredible cabs!!. Fortunately for me I have an arcade cab with all these games on and more. AVP, Cadallacs and dinosaurs, the list goes on.
This is getting confusing. I was going to pickup the fighters collection coming out soon, but now we have this! Which is the better deal? does the stadium collection have roll back net code? Which plays better, latency? does the the fighters collection have extra content over the stadium realeases?
Hope we have a 3D fighters collection in the near future.
Ugh, I'm a fan of Daft Punk but that auto tuned music was not doing it for me. Anyway, looking forward to the collection, but there are still some glaring omissions that I guess are tied up in licensing issues. Oh well.
@MindOfAJ no online play at all, only leaderboards. If you want to play online then the Fighting Collection has roll back netcode.
Heck yesh Last Duel, Black Tiger, Side Arms, Gun.smoke, Led Storm, The Speed Rumbler!
Tho my most wanted game, Mars Matrix, is still missing sigh @SaikazuSTG
@BanjoPickles I can't comment about every single game you mentioned in the list, but I would bet that none of the past Air Combat/Ace Combat games will get a re-release on any modern platform because of licensing issues.
@ReaperMelia I guess you could buy the Fighting Collection and then just buy the individual titles you want on Capcom Stadium 2.
@thinkhector That's a good idea if you want them day one. However we all know that after a few months the Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium will be so heavily discounted that buying a few individual games at $4 each will end up costing as much as the entire collection. I'll be picking up the fighting collection and 2nd Stadium for the differences between them, but not until they're each half price.
@Dan420 Yeah that makes sense. When the first Capcom Stadium came out, I waited until you could purchase individual titles and not just bundles. After picking up a couple titles, I wound up buying the entire thing because, like you said, a better deal than buying piecemeal. The best thing about that collection is the song though: "🎶 Arcade ... The Good Old Days ... Being In The Arcade All Night 🎶"
@sixrings Arcade Archives does a good job and Namco has released their acrade games individually and as part of collections. The issue is one of pricing: Arcade Archives in crazy expensive. Also most titles never go on sale. While the quality of Arcade Archives is excellent, you do have to be careful with some of these collections. For example, the Sega Genesis Collection and Pac-Man Museum + all have lag. The Capcom Stadium is on the great side.
@NotArmani The Fighting Collection has one important feature: Online Play! This isn't a big deal to me, but it will matter to some people. Capcom Stadium is also online but not for versus play. The online comes via the way of weekly challenges.
@ReaperMelia It's based on the assumption that you're not going to buy them all. I agree there are definitely better choices that could be made here.
