Re: Feature: Keeping It Physical In A Digital Age

NicolausCamp

"Disney has just announced it is ceasing production of 4K discs."
This is fundamentally untrue.
They will still be releasing select catalogue titles in 4K, and all upcoming releases are still slated to hit the format. You're making it sound a lot worse than it is.

Re: Poll: No, Really, What Was Nintendo's Worst Year?

NicolausCamp

This sounds a whole lot like whatabout-ism. Trying to defend a poor year by pointing out that there have been worse years... Of course there has! Doesn't take away from the fact that 2020 really has been a bad year for Nintendo first party fans... at least those of us who don't like Animal Crossing.

Re: Limited Run Games Teases Blaster Master Zero Announcement, More Info Next Week

@Wavey84 Exactly. The only games I still buy physically are Nintendo's first-party offerings, as Nintendo have proven time and time again that they're really bad at keeping their legacy titles available for purchase. They close down the eShops and because of their unique system controllers etc, backwards compatibility doesn't stretch further than say a generation back tops. Those are games that risk getting lost, if you're not ready to pony up the cash for second hand or go the emulation route.

Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Make The 'Switch Sacrifice'?

NicolausCamp

Since I changed my working place to a place I don't need to commute to with bus, but can walk to, I've started valuing performance more than portability, as I don't use the Switch in portable mode that often any longer. Certain types of games, such as RPGs with grinding etc I prefer the Switch for, but the usual AAA type games are going to my Xbox One most of the time nowadays.
Still love the Switch though, and for games that offer similar performance, such as a lot of indies, I usually go with the Switch version.

Re: Uncensored Version Of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Becomes Best-Selling Wii U Game On Amazon Japan

NicolausCamp

@Trajan It is, but with Fire Emblem Heroes and Three Houses raking in cash and selling well, Im sure a whole lot of people who just discovered the Fire Emblem series will give this a chance now, even though it has almost nothing to do with either FE or SMT in the grand scheme of things.

@BadEndBrit I don't view this so much as censorship as replacing content. Do I think it's silly that they covered a monster's cleavage with smoke, that they changed revealing costumes to more clothed ones etc? Yes, I do, but these are compromises that I am perfectly fine with that don't affect my enjoyment of the game and I would think most people will agree.
If something I would react on negatively would be cut from a game, well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Takes A Look At Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

No analogue controls.
No enhanced menus (like FFX HD).
No A.I.-upscaled backgrounds.
No graphical enhancements whatsoever apart from the character models.
15 FPS menus in battle.
No new, sorely needed translation.
This is literally just a modded version of the old PC port.
No, Square Enix, you are NOT getting my money for this one, even though it's my favourite game in the franchise.

Re: Both Guacamelee! Games Launch On Switch In Physical Form Today

NicolausCamp

@RupeeClock Sorry to break your bubble, but on the Switch cart, the DLC for Guacamelee! 2 is not included. Instead a voucher to download these are included. On PS4, everything is included on the disc though.
Real pity they weren't able to solve this, as others have distributed Switch games with DLC on cart without any issue. Oh well, at least the base games are on the cart in their entirety, which is the most important part.
