It's the end of the bracket for Pokkén Tournament DX. The Pocket Monster's beat 'em up will no longer be a part of the Pokémon Championship Series after 2022, The Pokémon Company has announced.
Pokkén Tournament has been part of the Championships since 2016 and the Wii U version, and its sixth year will be its final one and won't be seen at the Play! Pokémon events. No reason has been given for the game's removal from the line-up, but the game hasn't been updated for a long time, and perhaps The Pokémon Company sees something different in the Championship Series' future.
Despite many fans expecting this, this is likely very disappointing for them. Many want to see the 2022 Championship Series out with a bang because of this announcement, and we hope that the community can make this happen.
Maybe, just maybe, The Pokémon Company and Bandai Namco could treat us to a sequel? Then we'd get to see more Pokkén in action. We're just hoping out loud, here.

I hope there’s a sequel, I really enjoy the game but it feel like there could be more to it, a sequel could fix that
Pokken got a lot more official support than most other fighting games get, basically lasting around about 6-7 years. A great crossover that I hope gets a sequel (even if I could never get into it myself).
It's a shame this game didn't take off. It was fun to watch at least.
I'm guessing the Wii U basically sealed its fate from the start if the switch ports didn't revive it's community.
If it did take have those 3D projectile sections and constant crooked camera for the 2D sections, this would be so much better
The surprise for me here is learning it's still being supported currently.
A really solid and fun Pokemon game. Hopefully people can continue to play it even after the tournaments come to an end.
Really fun game. Unfortunately I don’t have my copy, it was the only game I lost while moving out of college and I haven’t rebought it. If I can find it for cheap I’d definitely pick it up again. I remember having some fun local-multiplayer battles in college with my buddies.
I’m still holding out hope for a sequel. I have enjoyed this series.
I enjoyed Pokken for what it was, but I can't say I got the most mileage out of it.
Pokken need Sawk as playable character.

I always watch all official tournaments, so sad to see this happen. Hopefully it's because there is a sequel or semi-sequel in the making, that would be amazing.
It sucks that it's rub is coming to an end, but it has had a much better competitive streak than even most other Nintendo games. It does honestly suck that barely anyone payed attention to it because I bet if more Nintendo people just bothered to play it, it would going on a lot longer
I don't play it Competitively but I do like to play it online from time to time. This is sad news really, hopefully a sequel is made but I won't hold my breath.
I stopped playing as the game had broken characters... Dulcieye, Machamp and weavile midcombo grabs are never fun expecially if 80% of your health gets cut... Not even gonna mention shadow Mewtwo spams....

Pokkén is for me one of the most underrated fighting games out there. It's great and I wish more people would give it a chance.
