Re: Review: BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL! - A Challenging Little Puzzle-Platformer That Ticks Most Of The Boxes

NicolausCamp

Played through the regular single player, and while I still really like the series, I'd place this AFTER BoxBoxBoy! and Bye Bye BoxBoy!
BoxBoxBoy! ist still the series' most challening entry, and Bye Bye BoxBoy! has the most fun gimmicks and block types.
I have yet to really sink my teeth into the co-op and the Qudy campaign yet though, and that seems to be where the game really differentiates itself from the other games, so I'm looking forward to really trying those out and will probably leave the game on a more positive note after that.
So yeah, it's great fun, but it hasn't wowed me as much as the predecessors did yet.

Re: Review: Etrian Odyssey Nexus - A Stellar Send-Off For A Beloved RPG Series

@koekiemonster I'll keep buying games for the 3DS as long as they keep releasing them! Just got Bowser's Inside Story, getting this tomorrow, Kirby in March and will pre-order Persona Q2 as soon as it's up for pre-order in Europe! The 3DS really is my favourite gaming system of all time, and I couldn't care less that the hardware is aging.
I love my Switch, but the 3DS is the system that completely reinvigorated the joy of gaming for me. Hoping Nintendo still have a few unannounced titles in the works!

Re: Rumour: Multiple Online Listings Suggest Assassin’s Creed III Is Coming To Switch

Unlike most, I actually really enjoyed AC3! Loved exploring the wilderness and it was a great, meaty game with a lot of gameplay variety. Sure, it's not one of the absolute best in the series, but great nontheless. Not sure I'll ever replay ANY AC game though. While I do enjoy them, they are really time-consuming endeavors, and I just have too much else to play as it stands already.
For those that haven't played AC3 yet however, this is great news. Hope they bring out the Ezio Collection sometime as well...

Re: Guide: Every Nintendo Console Ranked From Worst To Best

NicolausCamp

Based on what I currently feel...

1. Nintendo 3DS
2. Switch
3. SNES
4. Nintendo DS
5. Game Boy Advance
6. Wii U
7. Wii
8. GameCube
9. Nintendo 64
10. NES
11. Game Boy Color
12. Game Boy
13. Virtual Boy

Switch is quickly starting to overtake the 3DS. Also, I judge the console based on what they support out of the box. The 3DS having access to BOTH the DS and 3DS library, the Wii U being compatible with Wii, Wii running GameCube games, GBA running GB & GBC etc. etc.
Wouldn't surprise me if Switch comes out on top in the end, but for now, the 3DS is more dear to my heart than any console before it.

Re: Celeste Creator Teases Work In Progress

NicolausCamp

@NickOfTime90 That's true. Celeste is "harder", but also more forgiving in that sense that you only have to complete one "screen" at a time. If anything, I'd compare Celeste to Super Meat Boy, but not as tough as that one.

Re: Celeste Creator Teases Work In Progress

NicolausCamp

@janpampoen Celeste is as hard as you want it to be. There are a ton of settings you can adjust to make the game more accessible. It is quite a bit harder than Shovel Knight on its standard difficulty, but it's NEVER unfair and keeps pushing you to do better. It's sort of the point of the game and its story as well. You should definitely play it, and if you do find it too overwhelming, like I said, you can make the game easier if you want at any time!

Re: Review: LEGO DC Super-Villains - Proof That It's Good To Be Bad

NicolausCamp

Hadn't played a Lego game for years, but picked this up because of my love for all things DC. Just completed the first level and so far I'm having a blast! Solid performances, great writing, fun levels and designs. Just wish they could get the framerate from an uneven 30 to a solid 60 like on the other consoles, but that's just nitpicking, as aside from that, this is great so far!

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Praises Luigi's Mansion's "Completely Revamped" Visuals On 3DS

NicolausCamp

I live in Europe and my copy shipped today. I sold my GameCube version as soon as this was announced, sort of offsetting the price for the upgrade. Really looking forward to exploring the mansion again! <3

And to everyone complaining about this being on the 3DS instead of the Switch? You're getting Luigi's Mansion 3 next year! Let the 3DS have some ports and be happy Nintendo is supporting another system despite a new one being out for once. Usually they just jump ship immediately and don't look back. Glad the 3DS is still getting all this love.
