Played through the regular single player, and while I still really like the series, I'd place this AFTER BoxBoxBoy! and Bye Bye BoxBoy! BoxBoxBoy! ist still the series' most challening entry, and Bye Bye BoxBoy! has the most fun gimmicks and block types. I have yet to really sink my teeth into the co-op and the Qudy campaign yet though, and that seems to be where the game really differentiates itself from the other games, so I'm looking forward to really trying those out and will probably leave the game on a more positive note after that. So yeah, it's great fun, but it hasn't wowed me as much as the predecessors did yet.
"While still the inferior entry in the Darksiders trilogy," Wow. Do NOT agree with that assessment at all. Darksiders 1 is one of the best Zelda games ever made, easily beating out several of the main entries... and that comes from someone who holds Zelda as his favourite gaming franchise.
I'd be good with just 3 and 4. 1 is okay, and 2 is a freakin' trainwreck, but 3 and 4, especially the special editions, are excellent! Really looking forward to 5's release next week!
As long as they add an arcade mode, I'll be happy. More fighters is always a welcome addition. Wonder what the sixth franchise teased at the end will be.
@koekiemonster I'll keep buying games for the 3DS as long as they keep releasing them! Just got Bowser's Inside Story, getting this tomorrow, Kirby in March and will pre-order Persona Q2 as soon as it's up for pre-order in Europe! The 3DS really is my favourite gaming system of all time, and I couldn't care less that the hardware is aging.
I love my Switch, but the 3DS is the system that completely reinvigorated the joy of gaming for me. Hoping Nintendo still have a few unannounced titles in the works!
Considering Atlus' games have a history of going out of print quickly, I've preordered this one even though I have some of them in my backlog already. Don't want to have to hunt down an overpriced copy down the line.
@Grumblevolcano I wouldn't be surprised if we get Yo-kai Watch Blasters 2 as well. It's been out for a while in Japan, and we did get Yo-kai Watch 3 recently.
@LuciferOnReddit Problem with that is that these games take up A LOT of space. The Ezio Collection containing the three AC2 games takes up around 40-45GB on the other consoles, and they'll probably have a hard time fitting an AC3 remaster AND Liberation on even a 16GB cart. As much as I'd like to see a collection, it's not really viable with today's space constraints.
Unlike most, I actually really enjoyed AC3! Loved exploring the wilderness and it was a great, meaty game with a lot of gameplay variety. Sure, it's not one of the absolute best in the series, but great nontheless. Not sure I'll ever replay ANY AC game though. While I do enjoy them, they are really time-consuming endeavors, and I just have too much else to play as it stands already. For those that haven't played AC3 yet however, this is great news. Hope they bring out the Ezio Collection sometime as well...
@SwitchForce From PQube's official Twitter account. https://twitter.com/PQubeGames/status/1086284460394496000 "the Spring 2019 release of the Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Edition on #Switch ! This includes the original Guilty Gear and GUILTY GEAR XX ΛCORE PLUS R in one box, and separate digitally! Original Guilty Gear will be on PS4 digitally! #GuiltyGear20th"
@SwitchForce It IS getting a physical release in Europe.
@Moroboshi876 No, it's not LRG. However, pqube, who is distributing this, will only do so in Europe, so you'll have to import if you're outside of there, unless Arc Sys announces a physical release for the US, which I find unlikely.
My most requested ports/remasters would probably be... Darksiders 1-3 Dead Space 1-3 Ninja Gaiden (Team Ninja) 1-3 The Dishonored games and... Vanquish!
@Rontanamo_Bay It's not like anyone is taking up a discussion with them or arguing against them. As long as people remain civil, let them have their reasons for not wanting to buy a game.
@thesilverbrick They sell some of them at Best Buy. So far it's been Golf Story and Yooka-Laylee, and the BB versions have different cover art as well. Not all LRG releases will be sold at BB, only the ones they choose to carry, and they buy limited stock as well, so once they're gone, they're gone forever.
@Schneiderbear You could still run the entire Wii VC library through the Wii U's Wii mode though. Sure, "only" through HDMI, but I prefer that anyway so...
1. Nintendo 3DS 2. Switch 3. SNES 4. Nintendo DS 5. Game Boy Advance 6. Wii U 7. Wii 8. GameCube 9. Nintendo 64 10. NES 11. Game Boy Color 12. Game Boy 13. Virtual Boy
Switch is quickly starting to overtake the 3DS. Also, I judge the console based on what they support out of the box. The 3DS having access to BOTH the DS and 3DS library, the Wii U being compatible with Wii, Wii running GameCube games, GBA running GB & GBC etc. etc. Wouldn't surprise me if Switch comes out on top in the end, but for now, the 3DS is more dear to my heart than any console before it.
@Lando_ Agree to disagree, on the sole basis that nothing that Sony has censored has bothered me in the least so far. Removing objectification and sexualization of underage girls is something I don't have any problem whatsoever with. Good riddance, I say.
@Lando_ Yeah, I do hope they fare better with future games. Hoping the new Samurai Shodown makes its way to the platform, and that they can lock it to 60FPS. It uses the Unreal Engine after all, and if DBFZ is any indication, they should be able to get that running without the shortcomings of SNK Heroines.
This game really is an optimization nightmare. It runs poorly, and it's file size is actually bigger than Smash Ultimate, despite having only a fraction of that game's actual quantity of content. I bought it on sale and still felt ripped off. Managed to sell it for more than I bought it for at least, so there's always that...
@NickOfTime90 That's true. Celeste is "harder", but also more forgiving in that sense that you only have to complete one "screen" at a time. If anything, I'd compare Celeste to Super Meat Boy, but not as tough as that one.
@janpampoen Celeste is as hard as you want it to be. There are a ton of settings you can adjust to make the game more accessible. It is quite a bit harder than Shovel Knight on its standard difficulty, but it's NEVER unfair and keeps pushing you to do better. It's sort of the point of the game and its story as well. You should definitely play it, and if you do find it too overwhelming, like I said, you can make the game easier if you want at any time!
Really weird getting this before the US. We had to wait for almost a year longer than the US for the first game. Not that I'm complaining! Just finished Blasters and I'm so ready for more Yo-kai Watch! <3
Hadn't played a Lego game for years, but picked this up because of my love for all things DC. Just completed the first level and so far I'm having a blast! Solid performances, great writing, fun levels and designs. Just wish they could get the framerate from an uneven 30 to a solid 60 like on the other consoles, but that's just nitpicking, as aside from that, this is great so far!
I'm actually open for this IF the price is good and the service works in the region I live. I look at it as a rental. If there's a game I just want to play through once, like an AC game (no way will I ever revisit one), then it could be a money-saver. Definitely open for the idea, as long as I still have the option to actually physically buy the game as well...
I live in Europe and my copy shipped today. I sold my GameCube version as soon as this was announced, sort of offsetting the price for the upgrade. Really looking forward to exploring the mansion again! <3
And to everyone complaining about this being on the 3DS instead of the Switch? You're getting Luigi's Mansion 3 next year! Let the 3DS have some ports and be happy Nintendo is supporting another system despite a new one being out for once. Usually they just jump ship immediately and don't look back. Glad the 3DS is still getting all this love.
@Stocksy Most likely two separate releases on two separate carts. Looking at the file sizes, they technically COULD put both of them on a 16GB cart (5.7GB + 9.6GB = 15.3GB), but it wouldn't surprise me if they just release them separately... Hoping I'm wrong but won't get my hopes up...
I'd understand if a catalogue game wasn't released in physical format if it had to be crammed into a 16GB cart, but this one fits on 8, so I don't really see any excuse. Will pass on this one.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Sega Ages lineup will get physical releases in the same way the Sega 3D Classics did on 3DS. Therefore I won't pick up the digital versions and play the waiting game instead and hope for the best!
@boop22 I see you haven't actually played Federation Force, because if you had you would see that it still retains quite a bit of the spirit of Metroid. Doesn't matter if the genre is a bit different or not, it's still a better game than a few on this list on it's own merits.
@boop22 Yep, all of them. It's one of my all-time favourite game franchises. And Federation Force deserves a lot better than that. So, yeah, dude, seriously.
