Re: Disgaea Series Hits 5 Million Sales

I'm hoping NIS pulls through, financially or at least is bought by a company that respects their properties like when Atlus was bought by Sega while still remaining creatively independent.

Re: Gabe Newell: Pricing Valve's Switch-Like Steam Deck Was "Painful"

NIN10DOXD

I feel like people are overlooking the fact that this device is running on Linux so it relies on proton to play much of the games on Steam, many of which still have compatibility issues. Also, the jump in quality from the base model to the next one up also means spending over $100 more dollars for any real storage. This is less of a Switch competitor and more of a competitor to handheld PCs like GDP Win. If it's anything like past Valve hardware, it will ride a wave of hype and then fizzle out, leaving a bigger impact of on Steam's back end rather than a large user base like how the Steam Controller became Steam Input.

Re: Talking Point: Where Does The Switch OLED Announcement Leave The Rumoured Switch Pro?

NIN10DOXD

Of course it's not coming. Not in the way we expected at least. The OLED is coming out at the end of the year and March will be the fifth anniversary. At some point, they will probably announce the Switch's successor by 2023. The Switch is doing well, but at some point developers will push a new platform that will most likely look like the "Switch Pro" in the rumors. In fact that device may be real, but isn't a stop gap like presumed by the rumor mill. It could be a prototype of the next system and is probably not final.

Re: Square Enix Says It's Not For Sale, Shoots Down Acquisition Rumours

@Caryslan If Sony actually cared about their performance in Japan, they would make almost none of the moves they have been making in general. Tim Ryan doesn't care about Japan, because the United States is nearly thrice the size and Europe is an entire continent. He sees dollar signs and that's all. If hey did by Square Enix, it would mostly be for their name and then they would only pump out Tomb Raider and some shell of what Final Fantasy used to be. There certainly wouldn't be Dragon Quest anymore.
