@HedgehogEngine You didn't mention gameplay though. The Wild Area was boring. Some towns were just corridors. There were livelier towns on the Gameboy. Not to mention that outside of one or two gym leader, the whole game could probably be played by just spamming one attack over and over regardless of typing outside of immunities. They really could've added difficulty modes that altered the AI behavior and gave the NPCs held items or something. Galar was charming, but then they made strange decisions with what were otherwise beautiful cities and towns. It was quite jarring.

I have seen some people lash out horribly at reviewed of Sword and Shield which was wrong. I do think though that Game Freak has done a pretty bad job of striking a balance when you consider that kids were already playing the older Pokémon games without any problem and the new ones are becoming almost as brainless as mobile games. I'm not asking for Dark Souls, I just want the option to feel more engaged in battles. Even when I go back and replay the older games, they are still more difficult than playing a new game blind. That's despite the fact that I have them fully memorized. That's not good. The Pokémon Company has even acknowledged that many of the current fans are adults who grew up with the series and they know the games are for all ages. They have done a lot to cater to younger players, but it's time to at least add some basic options and settings to the game to make things more interesting at the bare minimum.

@CharlieGirl Its ironic too since Hollywood loves to save money almost as much as they love making it. They could save a lot of money and produce a higher quality product by using proper voice actors and film actors in the roles in their respective fields instead of just paying the highest bid for the most expensive celebrities on the market.
