Re: Nintendo's Share Price Dips Following Its Big Switch 2 Reveal

Here's the problem with Nintendo being Nintendo. Every knows Nintendo to be wacky and out of their minds when it comes to releasing consoles. The issue is when they do something out of the norm either it's TOO gimmicky and leads 3rd parties running away after the first 2 years. Plus, in some cases the gimmicky sacrifices process power leading to even more devs running. When Nintendo decides to play it safe you have the Nintendo faithful from different generations cry it's not weird enough. I tend to be in the camp of "they finally allow my purchases to transfer so I don't have to rebuy games." April is still a long way out and who knows there might be an attachment that allows you to feel the psychic thoughts of Mario and the need to jump on everything he sees.

The race is on to break the news first on the new console. Its funny because sites like this live on the traffic and ads. Concrete, solid and accurate information is lost because of it. But I guess this is the world we live in.

Re: The Game Awards GOTY For 2024 Is Astro Bot

cool...I guess I personally think it should have gone to that card game. Astro Bot while kinda fun is not Mario or Jak and Daxter. Because the game is built on ads for other games. I'm not saying Nintendo doesn't do this but at least they are classy with their nods to their other titles. Plus, the music to introduce the games felt off...but that is personal tastes considering in the past we had mario/zelda/metroid in the mix for goty.

Re: Talking Point: Can Sony And Microsoft Really Compete With Nintendo In A New 'Handheld War'?

Microsoft can't stay committed to anything unless it's a huge success especially for hardware. They only real reason they still have hardware in the console space is that they need to survive until all their games are ready to be cross platform. Once that is done, they will jump ship.
Sony maybe but if their VR headset is anything to go by, they can't juggle another piece of hardware.
