Hmm... New 3DS or save for an NX... I wish the New 3DS (normal size) was $150 standard. The Super Mario 3D Land bundle is $150, but I already have Super Mario 3D Land.
@Gridatttack https://m.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/581sas/updated_info_on_data_mining/?sort=new This is the big data-mining reddit thread. From what I've heard across the internet, Game Freak forgot to scrub the images for shiny Pokemon. At the rate they're going, we should have images of every shiny in Pokemon Sun & Moon within a few hours.
For a second I was worried, but then I remembered that I'm getting this game physically. (Can't trust with SD cards with save data anymore, at least on my current 3DS)
Sure are a lot of people whining about Ash-Greninja. It's people like them that made the Pokemon anime switch from the awesomeness that was XY&Z to the more childish Sun & Moon anime; maybe it'll be good, but XY&Z was something special, and it's a shame we'll lose all that progress.
Darn it, "Not Bad" is what I expected, but I had hope that this would be an unequivocally good game, at least to silence the uninformed Sonic bashers for a couple months. Guess I'll have to wait until Spring for that.
@Anti-Matter I want a New 3DS XL, but I want to save money, so if the New 3DS is larger than the original 3DS that's good, my hands are getting too big for it. I want a replacement 3DS for Pokemon Sun & Moon, but at the same time I want to see what the NX is before I buy a New 3DS, because I might buy an NX instead. So many things to buy and so little money...
Nintendo has referenced Virtual Boy plenty of times. Hotel Mario and the Zelda CD-i games, on the other hand... I'd like to see someone make a fan-remake of one of those games to see if Nintendo would shut it down, and by doing so, acknowledge that those games exist
It looks like the scores are correlated to how likely the reviewer is to have friends to play the game with. It's like the argument for Triforce Heroes; 6/10 single player, and it goes up one point for each additional player you play with.
This looks pretty fun. I'll probably buy it if one of my friends also gets it. I should probably get a New 3DS too before Pokemon Sun and Moon come out anyway. But the NX is coming out soon too... So many things to buy and so little money to spend.
@ya_boy_six The Pokémon franchise doesn't all take place in Japan, so I'm not sure how it can be whitewashed if the characters weren't necessarily Asian to begin with. Heck, they might just have original characters in this movie.
Being frank, patents almost never look as good as the final product. They just make them look cheap and basic to easily emphasize the important parts of the patent, in this case being the detachability of the controllers and the infrared tech.
Pyukumuku's ability will make it a great troll Pokémon competitively. Just switch it in right as a strong Pokémon is about to use an attack that's super-effective against Water, and if Pyukumuku gets OHKOed, the opposing Pokémon gets massively damaged. Maybe give Pyukumuku full HP and minimal Defense and Special Defense to maximize the damage it does.
In other news, Sega has recently announced Sonic Mania, a game where each person working on it has worked on at least one Sonic fangame in the past, including Sonic 2 HD.
Well, we already knew that Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros were going to support the NX, so that rumor's already 80% true.
Oh, and Breath of the Wild had better be in the launch window. Like, it wouldn't make sense if it isn't.
Wait, the graph has units on both axes now? Good, the original was just the line. Here's one issue, though: during that same update, the app cut the number of times the app checks for Pokémon locations in half, meaning at least a good chunk of that drop isn't related to the third-party apps.
@ASonic3582 The trailer made it sound like the trainer has to be holding the same type of crystal too, so if that's the case, the trainer would only be able to use one type of Z-Power attack per battle.
It's a fun game, but admittedly I don't play it that much. I guess I got burned out from the beta, and plus, my health hasn't been very good recently, so I cant go out and walk a lot, but I'm sure I'd be playing this a lot more otherwise.
Renegade Kid should try releasing an original game first that people will buy, they haven't done that in a while. M2 could port it, or perhaps Whitehead could do it if he has extra time, since the Retro Engine's been tested on the 3DS before, plus the New 3DS natively supports it. An NX version is very likely to happen, even if it's a couple months after the initial release. There probably won't be a Wii U version since that console will be more or less over once the NX arrives.
Man, I feel bad for NST. They were making all these cool games like Wave Race and 1080 and Project H.A.M.M.E.R., and now they're stuck with Mario vs. Donkey Kong games.
Nintendo has said in the past that the Animal Crossing mobile game connects with the main series games in some way. Maybe the mobile game has enough content to be standalone, but the NX will have the "Pro version", which has everything.
If this is true, I'm a little worried about having some sort of upscaling-hub device. Even though it lets you play on a portable device, every game released for that system has to be able to run on the handheld by itself. And if it's around the PS3 in terms of power, some games just won't be able to run on it, even if a hub device would provide the additional power. A hub device would be necessary to play on the TV and have multiplayer, sure, but I'm worried that if the handheld itself is only as powerful as the Tetra X1, porting would be harder, and we'd have third parties skipping the console again.
You know, I think I've really come to understand why people are upset with Federation Force. Recently, I've been playing through Paper Mario TTYD. I've come to realize that, while Color Splash might end up being a fun game, Nintendo has made it clear that they aren't planning to ever make a TTYD-style Paper Mario sequel. And TTYD is such a great game. So knowing that future Paper Mario games will never have the same magic that TTYD has makes me sad, regardless of how good Color Splash ends up being. I think it's the same with Metroid Prime fans. I assume the Metroid Prime trilogy was something special. Something fans hold dear to their hearts. And Nintendo, in a similar fashion to Paper Mario, is signalling that they aren't going to make a Metroid Prime game that has the same magic as the trilogy, so even if Federation Force is good, it can't replace that Samus-shaped hole in fans' hearts. Or something. I mean, the Metroid series still has hope for future titles, while the Paper Mario series has a bleak future. But I think, in general, the reactions to Federation Force and Color Splash are similar in more ways than you might think.
The indies that are working on Sonic Mania (which could very well release on the NX, even if it's a port after the main release) aren't just any indies. They've got Christian Whitehead and Headcannon, who worked on the classic remasters and the fangame/ROM hack Sonic Megamix; they've got PadogaWest Games, which was formed by people who worked on Sonic 2 HD; and the composer is Tee Lopes, who did the soundtracks for Sonic 2 HD and Major Magnet. Tee Lopes happens to be my favorite Sonic music remixer. So put simply, you probably couldn't find better indies to make a game like Sonic Mania.
@the101 Actually, the whole "Team A Team B" thing has been debunked. Turns out that saying comes from a fan pretending to be a Sega Insider from 2009. Turns out that Sonic Team is one team where people can be assigned to different projects if need be, like Colors and Generations, but there isn't a distinct "Team A" and "Team B".
This amount of sponsorship is good. Maybe letting businesses buy Pokéstops would work well, but there's always the possibility Niantic goes too far with sponsored locations. Niantic, you've struck gold, don't mess it up.
