Following last week's focus on the apparent form factor of the Nintendo NX, this week MCV spoke to sources to try and get the lowdown on the system's planned launch window games. Pokémon and Mario were mentioned as launch window titles, along with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; encouragingly, those reports reinforced previous instincts that the likes of Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Activision and Warner Bros are offering some early support.
In any case, should the oft-checked reports prove correct in that the NX is a portable that can also be played on the TV, there's the exciting prospect that Nintendo will be in a position to roll out first party releases with more frequency than before. Rather than spread resources between two platforms, as has been the case up to now, Nintendo could in principle produce NX titles far more rapidly.
Based upon this, too, the NX could be home to experiences typically associated with portables, in addition to larger titles we've only been used to seeing on home consoles. In theory its library could host the latest Fire Emblem alongside Pikmin 4, or the aforementioned Pokémon series would see its main generation titles appear on TVs in addition to smaller screens.
The launch window is the key, too, as the NX will need to get off to a strong start. With that in mind the first 3-6 months could have a generous helping of titles. But if you could pick any franchises to launch a new system, what would they be?
Well, the poll and comments below are an opportunity to have your say. You can choose up to five of the options below, considering the fact you're picking games / franchises that you most want to see in the first 3-6 months of the system's lifespan. We've tried to think of the most notable Nintendo IPs, but apologise in advance for those we've missed. We've also left out some that scored 0% in a poll at the start of the year that tackled a similar question.
We're going to follow up this weekend with a feature looking at ten titles / franchises that we think would best suit the NX launch, and will certainly keep an eye on these results.

breath of the wild and pikmin 4
List could do with a bit of Fire Emblem and Xenoblade.
Why not all
I'd like Mario Kart, 2D-Metroid, Zelda and a sequel to Kid Icarus: Uprising. Luigi's Mansion and Super Smash Bros. would be nice as well.
I know it's not technically a Nintendo IP, but 51% of my brain only thinks about Bayonetta 3....
Breath of Wild, Pokemon, Metroid 2.5, Mario Kart, and Kid Icarus. Some SquarEnix would be nice.
A 2D Metroid is greatly needed. Pikmin 4 has to be about done right now, a 3D Mario would be a great launch title, and I would love a Pokemon game (main series or not).
EDIT: I didn't vote for it, but I would be super happy if F-Zero came to NX. F-Zero NX?
I didn't pick Zelda because that should be in that window for sure. I went with 5 we don't have any clue about. 3d Mario, Pikmin 4, Luigis Mansion, Metroid Prime, and Splatoon.
Seriously no Fire Emblem option or XenoBlade?
I'd like them to mix both every gen franchises with a few niche titles, like F-Zero and come out swinging for all the Nintendo fans old and new.
@MrGawain thats the first game i though of too!
I went for the franchises that were avoided on Wii U (or not Wii U exclusive), so:
. Metroid Prime (a proper one, not Federation Force HD )
. F-Zero
. Breath of the Wild
. Luigi's Mansion
. Kid Icarus
That said, if mine became reality the NX for certain would be dead in the water and sell even worse than the Wii U.
Screw it, I want an ice climbers game!
And another wario land game
Choosing only 5 games is very hard to do
Mario Kart is essential for their success. Essential for me if I am to purchase early.
Well, we already knew that Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros were going to support the NX, so that rumor's already 80% true.
Oh, and Breath of the Wild had better be in the launch window. Like, it wouldn't make sense if it isn't.
Advance Wars would have been one of mine as well as an Eternal Darkness sequel
None of my main choices seem to be in the poll, aside from F-Zero.
Not thinking if it's either more or less console, handheld, or both, where the heck is Golden Sun?
@khaosklub I second you on Ice Climbers! Another revival like they did with Kid Icarus is more than welcome if you ask me.
I'd like to see a Ninja Gaiden on Nintendo NX
I would love to see a new Warioland installment. 2.5D with HD visuals... Count me in.
A 3D Mario platformer that uses Super Mario 2 mechanics would also be freak out worthy.
Since this is a portable/home console, where are the Advanced Wars/Fire Emblem options?
Otherwise, I voted Luigi's Mansion, Kirby, Wario Ware, Wave Race and F-Zero
i dont see star fox, main series pokemon, and paper mario as possible launch titles because they have just had very recent releases. the console is already guaranteed breath of the wild so i didnt choose that.
a 3d mario platformer is a must have at launch. animal crossing is also a system seller, so it would be great if it launched within 6 months of the nx's release.
i also chose luigi's mansion and a pokemon spin off.
3D Mario,
Breath of the Wild,
Pokémon (main series),
Luigi's Mansion,
Spla2n
I want to vote
1 Xenoblade
2 Advance Wars
3D Mario and Luigi Mansion would make the NX incredible for me.
2D Metroid (most of all). Then Zelda, Metroid Prime, Kid Icarus and... you know what, for nostalgic reasons, Pilotwings. It probably wouldn't be the same with stereoscopic 3D, but I had such a fantastic time with Pilotwings Resort as a 3DS launch title.
Metroid Prime. Freaking Metroid.
Voted 2D Metroid (been a while since we had one), F-Zero and Luigi's Mansion. I"d have voted for Pikmin 4 instead, but that one is pretty much a given at this point.
Also, I find it funny how F-Zero is still an option in the poll, yet more recent series like Golden Sun or Advance Wars are all but forgotten. I guess you have to limit the options somewhat and F-Zero is more beloved by Nintendo themselves than those two, but it does make you think a bit.
@The-Snarfer A new Wario Land would be alright, but instead of being 2.5D, what if it retained the hand-drawn look of Shake-It/Shake Dimension, but was made with something similar to Ubisoft's beautiful Ubi-Art engine?
"A 3D Mario platformer that uses Super Mario 2 mechanics would also be freak out worthy." Isn't that basically 3D World in a nutshell...?
I voted for:
~ 3D Super Mario platformer
~ The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
~ Pikmin 4
~ Metroid (2D or 2.5D)
~ F-Zero
I'm one of the weirdos that prefers 2D Mario to 3D but a 3D one will push the system to sell much better than a 2D one would.
Man, a Kid Icarus game would be awesome
No one wants Nintendogs?! Why?! That game is awesome and needs to come back anew! And animal crossing and paper Mario too!
I want variety: both for launch window and for the future. Reviving series like F-Zero, having a sequel for Splatoon, making a great 3D Mario again, like 64, Sunshine or Galaxy games, making new IP´s.
There´s so much games they can make for the system if they´re really going make a fusion of a handheld and homeconsole.
I didn't vote for it, but I think a new WarioWare is long overdue. I'm very disappointed we didn't get one on 3DS. I don't think Game & Wario sold particularly well, which worries me we might not get another WarioWare title, at least for a while. I really hope Nintendo doesn't decide to go mobile-only with WarioWare. The series would be perfect for playing on your phone in short bursts, but I really hate mobile gaming.
@Hitman1102
I actually prefer one Mario over every 3D Mario: the game is called Super Mario World, and I doubt we´ll ever get a better Mario game.
@Not_Soos
I don´t know if WarioWare would be "big" enough in terms of content to justify a physical release anymore. Then again, I would like to see an improved version of DIY that last´s longer than the one on DS. I got DIY rather late and would have wanted to download more minigames before Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection was closed.
I wouldn´t mind having a Wario Ware games on mobile. It could use touch screen, motion controls, camera and all such features which used to have their own games for each gimmick back in the day. Then again, 3DS can do those things.
A new 2D Metroid would be huge - it's been a while!
The staples like Mario Kart and Smash would be awesome too. I imagine you'll be able to bring a bunch of NX's together for a LAN party! (Gamecube had this concept in mind too)
In no particular order:
Luigi's Mansion
M&L
Breath of the Wild
Spla2oon
Mario Kart
But overall I still want Project Sonic 2017 the most. Luigi's Mansion is a very close second though.
No love for Sports or Fit?
-Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I guess this is a given, but it should be a good launch game!
-Pokemon: the 3D console game
Not another Stadium, or Safari game. Would be a good thing to bet on if not on launch, the not unforeseeable future.
-Mario 3D game:
I'm a huge fan/supporter of 2D Mario games, but I'd like to see another 3D Super Mario game would be the perfect game to Launch, on the NX.
-2D Metroid game
The 2D Metroid games are still better than Prime. I would love to see a game where Samus is training with the Chozo. I've been saying that for years.
-F-zero NX (Has a nice ring to it, don't it?)
Some of the best music, in any game. Fast, difficult, and a great demonstration of the NX prowess.
-I think a second Splatoon game and Mario Maker game are great ideas, just not as launch titles
UNMENTIONED:
Wario and Waluigi deserve a full game, not a wario ware game. I am a huge fan of Wario, and an even bigger fan of Waluigi.
Over the years, "Wario" has got quite a collection of characters in his series. The game I imagine would play similar to Knuckle's Chaotix , different characters have different abilities.
I would love to see a new Advance Wars game! I'd give up the rest of the games, for the next year, for a new one of these! (I just hope it doesn't look like battle tanx)
It will not let me select Animal Crossing 5 times
Monster Hunter: Stories because that's the only way it gets localized
F-Zero NEEDS to be one. Sad that the majority rather have a game that already has plenty of games in its series...
MARIO MAKER NX should be the pack-in title. And then drop Smash Brothers DLX (wiiu version with all DLC), MARIO KART 8 DLX, and SPLATOON 1st day. After that trickle out F-Zero and Animal Crossing for Summer and METROID for fall.
Bayonetta 3, No More Heroes 3... but those are not Nintendo :-(:-(
Anyway, 2d mario, 3d mario
I wanna see FFXV on the NX.
I would like a new 3D mario. It's been long enough.
A 3D Mario in the vein of Super Mario 64, with multiple worlds and 7 or 8 macguffins per world instead of the 2 or 3 from Super Mario Galaxy. That's the one we've gotta get.
Other titles, like a new F-Zero (closer to X than GX please) and a new 2D metroid would be terrific, but Mario's the big one for me.
Virtual Console games without waiting for a year!
Monster Hunter 5. I figure if it's in the launch window in Japan it'll come out in the US after Generations has had enough time. I imagine it'd be in Japan near the end of the launch title window if they do something.
@GameOtaku A thousand times, yes! With GameCube titles also available for download.
BoTW (not Bottom of The Well), Super Mario Galaxy 3, Mario Kart 9, Mario & Luigi RPG 5 and Paper Mario 6. What happened to the Paper Mario hype?
3d mario: should be for marketing the nintendo brand. Let mario become popular again but less targeted to kids. Its obvious kids like cartoony stuff. In 90s mario wasnt targeted to lil kids as they are doing now.
Kid icarus: it still pretty fresh franchise after the 3ds version and can do anything they want with it gameplay wise for the NX. This game should be the answer to other nintendo titles having less voice acting.
Wave race: should be the game that shows off the NX graphics. Go for realistic graphics and this be the game that confirms its on to par with other consoles. At the same time be fun for both casuals as the deeper(hardcore) gamer.
Metroid prime: very important one i think. Should definitly stay with the same formula gameplay wise. Ofcourse show off graphics and let Samus become a Female icon marketing wise (should also have done this for Bayonetta). There are a lot of female gamers, why not show the female heroes off. I assume it will have voice acting.
F-zero: also important one. Wave race should be game targeted to both casuals as hardcore but fzero should be the game that targets the hardcore and should reel the casuals in. Graphics should definitly shine in this one. Voice acting should be in it and i think this game deserves a story mode, especially how they promote ct. Falcon in SSMB.
This are the titles i love to see in the launch window, great balance while still enticipating for zelda and pokemon and leaves space for third parties to also release games.
The only thing nintendo should do is balance the marketing. Its also good for them to let 1st party titles be on the low side marketing wise and let 3rd parties promote the NX through there games.
Also not to much kids or families in commercials. They should do something like the gamecube/GBA era.
@GameOtaku "Virtual Console games without waiting for a year!"
That's be good, but I ain't gonna pay for the same games again, though. I think it could be a great time to introduce a subscription service where you'll get access to the VC library via a monthly fee.
I'd really like the whole New SMB Series to be closed with "New Super Mario World" — a HUGE 2D platformer that couldn't be completed in ten minutes
I want Monster Hunter...unless this allows us to play 3DS games on the big screen. If so then whatever, lol.
(seriously, this would be awesome)
The lack of Advance Wars in the options automatically makes this list invalid.
@WhiteTrashGuy
I strongly disagree with this. I'd be immensely upset if Nintendo used their launch window to just re-release a bunch of Wii U titles, even if they have extra content. Wii U owners have had to suffer constant droughts of no games for months at a time, and this is how Nintendo should compensate us? What would be the point in upgrading to the NX if it's just more of what we already have? Especially if we have to fork over another $60 for that little extra content.
Smash takes years to make but sells large numbers, so a re-release with extra content for that and maybe even Super Mario Maker is probably a good idea, but there's no reason Mario Kart 9 and probably even a sequel to Splatoon shouldn't already be in development.
Wave Race Bluestorm Part II
FZero NX, 1080NX, Wave Race NX, Mario Kart NX, Pilotwings NX
If the NX comes bundled with Zelda: BotW, then I don't need any other titles for the first two months at least.
I do hope for Wave Race and Pilot Wings though. These games have such a unique Nintendo vibe about them and we're due for some console followups of these games.
I hope Final Fantasy 15 is coming to the NX.. I really want to play that game on a Nintendo console... Dunno why... That's just how it is...
A Nintendo console without 2D Mario is like the vatican without a pope.
@khaosklub Another Wario Land game would be amazing. The 3rd on the GBC is still my favorite to this day.
botw is obvious and i also pick mario maker nx and pikmin 4 since its almost done and f zero... you shouldnt be releasing so many big games in 3-6 months cuz what about the upcoming years ???
Animal crossing , Luigi's mansion , Mario .
An F-Zero game and a METROIDvania (hasn't it been awhile in both cases?) in particular. While not on the least, a new Fire Emblem game. A port of Disney Infinity 3.0 would be great to have both at home AND on the go in full capacity (even sans the online stuff), but this sounds like fiction in itself now.
From SE... it's up to them what to launch here, but wasn't Crystal Chronicles among their late generation Nintendo projects? I wouldn't mind more of it - Ring of Fates gave off a MASSIVE "Landstalker meets Secret of Mana" vibe.
How bout a 2D Mario game with Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, and Daisy trying to rescue Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad from some evil newcomer? Daisey can bribe the bad guys with riches for their help
My choices: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (obviously), a 2D/2.5D Metroid game (when was the last time we had one of those?), Super Smash Bros. (an NX Edition of Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U wouldn't hurt), F-Zero (and I want Shin'en to develope it), and a 3D Super Mario game (a la Super Mario Sunshine, or Super Mario Galaxy).
Wario ware for sure. We skipped a whole generation without a proper Warioware game. Or at least a sequel to the Gamer game from the Wii U title
My choices:
Pikmin 4
Mario 3D game
Luigi's Mansion
Metroid Prime
Animal Crossing
Anyone thinking Mario Kart or Smash would be ready for NX launch, after hearing 0 about it, is delusional. So delusional that even hoping for it isn't good! Kid Icarus is a close 6th.
Why is Breath of the Wild even in the list, let alone getting votes? It's a given.
@gcunit Eh, more like a 99% given. We don't know for sure definitely not-maybe
Mother 3!!
....bah its not a realistic wish but please..
Didn't choose Metroid Prime because I want anything like that to be awesome and not rushed. Metroid 2D/2.5D I'll take.
I want to see a return of the arcade racers even if the new outings are download only. While I adore the wiiu first party line up if the nx mimics that I will be waiting a year or two since I still have a massive backlog. Aside from zelda I don't want any straddles or remakes for a year. At least not first party.
Well Retro has had how many years to work on a project?
I've been thinking for a while that they'll have four core games on launch day.
Zelda, Animal Crossing, Smash 4 and a new IP (and I'm thinking the new IP will be from Retro).
It would help to choose if I knew what the NX was...perhaps that is just me.
What is GoodFeel working on now?
Konami should just soften up and sell off its franchises. Especially Goemon. They haven't done anything with it for over 11 years, yet it was a HUGE series before. Why is that? Because the key people from the franchise left Konami and formed GoodFeel.
Bottom line, GoodFeel should make a new Goemon game. Now that would be a pleasant surprise.
I would get hype for a new IP. But Pikmin 4, Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart, plus a nice surprise we aren't expecting would keep me hype for the next 15 months. I also don't expect a big new 3d Mario until minimum Holiday 2017. I also want a new Sin and Punishment, even though I highly doubt it ever happens. Tbh I just want the official announcement already so we can really see the NX and get a complete blowout of trailers for new games. If they announce a lot of games and have third party and indie support a sizzle reel would be super hype.
A game-changing Mario game is the dream.
High def Animal Crossing would be pretty irresistible.
Same goes for a high def Kirby that's not a silly touch based mobile game.
And something made me vote for NX Sports...
I hope Mario Kart comes later, MK8 is still too hot to get usurped, but maybe that Tweet was about MK9 and not DLC for MK8
I'm always the 1% that votes for Pilot Wings... And that makes me a sad panda
Y'all chose 3D Mario but the silent majority is for 2D Mario lol
i don't wanna choose cause i ain't gunna be able to get it at launch.
That ground breaking new kind of a Mario game ain't coming until at the end of 2017 at the earliest, based on what Miyamoto said, but I'm sure that we'll get some kind of a Mario platformer close to launch.
Wave race, pikmin 4, metroid prime,f zero and I spla2n I in that order.
I still think pikmin 4 should be a Wii u game TBH, the hardware worked perfectly and I'd miss the wiimote and of screen map combo allot!!
Realistically, I think we can expect
Some Wii U ports (Mario Maker, Splatoon, ect.)
Breath of the Wild
Pikmin 4
Mario Party/Nintendoland-esque game
Maybe Kid Icarus/Wario/Kirby/other B-tier Nintendo series
Honestly, I think I will be happy with just BotW as a launch title, so anything that will sell the system in large numbers to guarantee third party support would make up my remaining options. That's assuming I'll be buying the NX. I expect to, but I'm still to be convinced that it will compete in a traditional sense. In fact, Nintendo have been touting its uniqueness for a while. That's been the whole point.
It's not necessarily a good business decision to go head to head with Sony and Microsoft, but I'm okay with that as long as Nintendo themselves keep delivering on games and third parties can be encouraged to also offer some support. As long as it's not only a mobile game type platform or it improves vastly on the quality of most of the games that are available on such platforms, I don't mind - the tech exists now for games to be comparable. Of course, I hope it's much more than that and am fairly confident it will be from what we know of Nintendo.
RPGs... a lot of them. Remaster of the incredible ones from the past, that have a proper ending, and sequels to those that left the door opened. Really want to see a fantasy, but with realistic design/graphics, RPG from nintendo, and see it grows as I saw Final Fantasy, breath of fire and others. A strategic game would be nice too. Nintendo are creative, but don't come out from the box as many times as I, and many others want it. Really want to see new IPs coming up on the launch.
Yay, an article about hype for potential game releases rather than rumors and speculation about the hardware!
There are so many games I want to see come to the NX early on, but if I had to pick just a few, these games would be nice:
Pokemon and Animal Crossing for long term play.
Wario Kart because its awesome and a biggest seller
A party game because Ninty do them so well and it'll draw people in.
Zelda as a big exclusive.
I'm waiting for: new IP, new IP, new IP, new IP and surprisingly new IP
Really, give me new games, especially RPGs and platfomers. I don't know exactly what I want, surprise me, Nintendo.
But if I must choose something from this list... nope, Monster Hunter 5 and story-driven Xenoblade 3, not this MMO-like X with tons of fetch quests and shitty companions - this is what I want.
If Nintendo ever wants an amazing system launch, they should launch with a main series Pokémon game.
This just made me want all of them! :/
3D Mario, Metroid 2D and 3D, Zelda and F-Zero... basically all the stuff the Wii U failed to deliver.
@NinChocolate has their been any shortage of 2D mario games lately though? I'd be happy with ports of the Wii U and 3ds games i haven't played yet.
If they do have a Waverace or F-Zero as launch titles, or even just show a gameplay trailer for them as upcoming games, I'd buy 2 NXs just on principle alone
I'd prefer no more 2D games for the time being.
..any or all of the above would be fine..just as long as there are more than 2 at launch..also would like an Advance Wars, Castlevania, Super Monkey Ball, and PUNCH OUT!...
Frankly, I just want ANY good game at lunch (other than BotW). Nintendo has botched launce line ups for several systems now.
My ideal NX launch would include Pikmin 4, Animal Crossing, Breath of the Wild, and a Mario platformer (2D or 3D), plus maybe a Smash Bros U/3DS Deluxe Edition. The only problem I'd have is actually buying all of that, plus a new system, in 1 day. I'd also love to see a new Luigi's Mansion. As a big fan of the franchise, I want a main series Pokemon game too, but with Pokemon Sun/Moon coming out in October, I think the NX launch window would be too soon.
I feel like some of these would be foolish to waste early on. Games like Mario Maker, Splatoon, and even Mario Kart all had entries too recent to revisit just yet.
I mean, I'd love it if all of these made it onto the console at some point. But in terms of launch window? Hmmm....
I definitely would like a new 3D Mario, but I don't need it at launch. I'd like something to play down the road.
First person Metroid, 3D Mario, Zelda Breath of the Wild, F-zero, and Kid Icarus. Nintendo shouldn't do the same mistake and bring out a 2D Mario as a launch title, that was stupid, and a lot of those entries have had games recently, so it's too early for another game already.
Before I answer I need to know how many games you will be releasing in that period of time.
Metroid Prime with gyro controls, please!
I'd like to see F-Zero early in the system's life, partly to see it get another shot at life, but also to give Mario Kart more time to be fully completed and not need to have DLC, for those who'd be hard-pressed to get it.
I would like to see a Pokémon Stadium-type game where you can link your smartphone to the Nintendo NX and battle with a team of six Pokémon on the TV or online.
I would love to see a new metroid 2d or 2.5d game. Tired of nintendo sleeping on this great franchise.
3d mario
Pokemon (something like stadium )
Splatoon 2
3d kirby
And soul calibur 2 hd(im still waiting! )
These low percentages are why we rarely get some of the franchises. I'm sure Nintendo has focus groups who also tell them what players want and likely come up with similar results. Remember this when we get another dozen Mario and Zelda titles while you are waiting for a new fzero or golden sun.
I'd like to see a new Mario Strikers. Beyond that I'd like to see a new IP.
Nintendo should have a varied mix:
1) A new 3 D Mario. This is a must, as the franchise is the face of Nintendo. Mario Galaxy #3.
2) Mario Kart Maker. A racing game is needed & who wouldn't want to make & share their track or car creations? I'd also suggest a Zelda maker, for Dungeons, as a great alternative.
3) Breath of Wild. The game must be a launch title given its already large hype.
4) Spla2oon- This is Nintendo's great new shooter franchise & Nintendo should build off its successful 1st entry.
5) Wii Fit NX- Nintendo should make Wii fit with a monitoring band, so that users can go out and monitor their outdoor/gym exercises & merge them with their Wii Fit indoor workouts. I'm talking fit bit style data, more than the Wii Fit U meter. Perhaps part of the NX itself could be used as this, or have it built in.
Definitely need a new 3D Mario. Metroid 2D/half, I was never much into Prime games. Zelda I think will already be set for NX. Wave Race would be a fun off-set game it usually is and Luigi's Mansion would be cool to, especially if it was right next to 3D Mario, best of both worlds.
My Choices:
1- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: This game would bring in a varied audience due to the now-popular open world genre. It appeals to more mature audiences compared to Mario, i.e., teenagers to adults. Plus, it will sell like hotcakes.
2- Mario and Luigi: If- by slim chance- the NX rumors are correct, then having a Mario and Luigi game will be great for the NX. Imagine having an optional multiplayer story, where one player is Mario and the other is Luigi. If the controllers have screens, then an interesting dynamic could be made. On the TV, both Mario and Luigi will share the camera's attention. On the gamepad, the camera is focused on the perspective player.
3- 3D Mario Platformer- Remember what I stated about Mario and Luigi with the camera system? That should apply here too. Otherwise, a new 3D Mario platformer, either Super Mario NX World, Super Mario Galaxy 3- even Super Mario Galaxy 1-2 Remastered- with multiplayer would work finely.
4- Warioware: We don't know the gimmicks of the NX for real now, but Warioware is a guilty pleasure of mine and each game made has exploited their system's gimmicks in very unique ways. (Refer to Touched or Smooth Moves!)
5- Smash Bros.: Super Smash Bros would be perfect as a launch window game as almost ANYONE would play it. Not to mention, I feel as if the NX will be very multiplayer-friendly.
Just to note: The NX would be a day one purchase if it had Gamecube Virtual Console titles. I know issues stem from the fact that the triggers on the Gamecube can provide different responses depending on how hard you press on it, but I have an idea to dodge that. The primary trigger buttons would resemble a hard press, and the secondary triggers would be a light press. SIMPLE. The Gamecube VC should consist of Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, and later, they should add third-party titles such as Resident Evil 4, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (I know it's mediocre, but it's popular to the fans) and others. The NX launch is incomplete without the online services like Gamecube VC and other stuff lacking on the Wii U to this day.
All I ever play is the Animal Crossing course on MK8 thinking about what could have been with a legit AC on WiiU.
I would want games unlike my wii u which was a sssss lucky I have a ps4
I won't be buying NX at launch just for a Zelda game I bought the Wii U for (I have a fun story about the cross release, actually), but I would buy it at launch if it comes with an Animal Crossing or Fire Emblem game. It's been SO LONG since the last Animal Crossing. I need an excuse to buy the amiibo.
F ZERO!!!!! i think it will be too soon to put mk and ssb out at launch... they need to save the big guns for later to help maintain momentum
Picked 5 with Wave Race being one. It's been too long. I just want a couple good multiplayer (local please) games to play with the wife and friends.
Can I just give all five of my votes to Metroid? I want Metroid Prime 4 so bad I can't even put it into words.
Breath of the wild
Splatoon 2
3D Mario
Pokemon
Metroid
Went Mario Kart, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, and Pilot Wings. Would otherwise like to see more Fire Emblem, though I get that Fates happened recently. Maybe an HD Path of Radiance, or perhaps get Koei Tecmo on board for Fire Emblem Warriors.
Otherwise, I'd like Bayonetta 3 for sure, and if we're getting into dream territory, a return to something along the lines of PN03 or Auto Modellista from the Cube or something akin to Remember Me from the X360.
WaveRace would also be cool if done right.
I really wanted the high def deep animal crossing experience. Unfortunately that's not going ot happen. We're going to get mobile microtransaction gobbeldygoop that no one wants.
A Paper Mario RPG and Mario Galaxy 3
Wave Race, F-Zero, Pokemon, Pokemon spin-off, Animal Crossing. I'm sad that Pokemon spin-off is the most likely of my choices.
A new Professor Layton (not up to Nintendo of course), Monster Hunter 5 (maybe a little too early with generations out now), Metroid Prime (would probably sell like crap), and Xenoblade X port assuming there's no backwards compatibility would all make me very happy.
@Vineleaf that's the first time I've ever heard "Fire Emblem" and "Warriors" in the same sentence. I like that idea very much...
@Elanczewski There were a LOT of fetch quests. I got really sick of those reaaaallly sick of those.
Breath of the Wild, Animal Crossing HD (not smart phone crap), a fire emblem game for consoles (beefy beef graphics with some additional stuff only a tv could do), and pikmin 4 would make me happy to at least 2 whole years.
What about Startropics?
LOZ: BOTW and Pikmin 4 are probably already going to happen, so I picked Prime, New 3D Mario, F-Zero, Pokemon (still hoping for a Xenoblade style pokemon game, maybe not as large) and Mario & Luigi (cuz it's more Paper Mario than Paper Mario currently is)
Not Nintendo but Monster Hunter Generations G!
Can I choose F-ZERO five times???
Actually I got a couple other ones I can think of that really need a new game, and I would but the system day one of it had them, no questions asked: a new 1080 snowboarding game, and especially a new Startropics, that would make the nx a instant buy for me!
I picked only 4 (could have trimmed it down to 3) and didn't even include Zelda since we already know it's a launch title.
The games I picked and their reasoning are as follows:
NX Fit (this is the expendable one, just seems like something N likes to put on their consoles tho I've never played it)
3D Mario Platformer: preferably a remake of Sunshine since it's (correct me if I'm wrong) the only Mario platformer we can't play on Wii U .. and I've never played much of it
Animal Crossing: THIS ONE IS KEY, perfect game to have in that launch window, it gives you a reason to turn your system on every day after all the other games have been beaten. And we NEED an HD home console version of this after getting teased with Mario Kart DLC and amiibo Festival.
F-Zero: it's about damn time and we don't have to hear whining about no/crummy Battle Mode. Could be the game that really showcases the power of the NX as well as the other games are a little more cartoony/slower paced. Also checks off that needed multiplayer vs. box.
This gives the system plenty of variety and fun and I think these are some of the strongest series that we haven't seen in a while (we just got Kirby, Splatoon, Kart and many more recently)
Nintendo just needs to put out a console that gets third party support back so that when in-house Ninty games make all the developers worn out there will be someone filling in the gaps and keeping the drout seasons at bay.
No Other option? If there was one:
WWF No Mercy sequel
I could be wrong but I don't think they have ever released a Zelda and main Mario game within 6 months of each other. I would love another Wave Race. I played that game to the literal death of my N64 controller.
Not having an Animal Crossing game as a launch title would be a huge missed opportunity.
I really hope they show it in September.
Animal Crossing NX, please. I can spent my whole day by drooling at beautiful HD graphic and cute characters....
Oh, Nintendogs NX ? My...what kind of supporting devices for speaking to our dog ? NX microphone ? I want to teach my dogs with Indonesian language instead English.. XD
Purhaps I'm in a minority for the games I chose but i really think 5 of any of these is too many. I'm hoping we see some amazing new IPs. Splatoon just didn't cut it for me. There's a million possibilities for new successful ideas but I know the franchise mainstays are the backbone of the business. I anxiously await the future of Nintendo's "NX". IF it isn't backwards compatible, there'll be a lot of gaming space to fill.
A full console Golden Sun would take the cake.
Super Zelda Bros Prime.
I would be quite pleased with a Mario Galaxy 3 or some other 3D Mario game.
I'd love, non 1st party here, another xenoblade (I loved X favorite wii u game by a long way), Bayonetta 3 and more SMT games (maybe even the new Persona, though that seems highly unlikely)
It says there's 9,000 votes which seems so high, but I'm assuming it counts up all 5 choices individually rather than as 1 collective total vote per user.
So I'm assuming it's more like around 1,800 people voted.
For 3rd party games, i would like to see :
1. Bokujou Monogatari NX
2. MaiMai SEGA (Please, SEGA.Bring MaiMai to handheld or console with DLC songs) or any kind of Rhythm games that we must tapping the button based on the music.
3. Any cute Boxing games like Animal Boxing NDS (We have no Boxing games since 3DS and Wii U era)
4. Cute RPG like Fantasy Life or Ever Oasis
5. The Sims 4 (At least there are roof, public places to visit, Swimming pool, a multiple neighbour so we can switch into another family if we're bored to play with certain family)
6. Go Vacation 2 or something like that. I can spent my time to explore the beauty of resorts.
woohoo art academy! but with enhancements!!! like 'photo academy' mode that checks levels, composition, exposure, etc. also, every single amiibo should unlock a figure in it. more tools like alternative process, and outright image editing.
Definitely want to see Pokemon and Animal Crossing from the start. I really want new Wave Race, Pilotwings along with Star Tropics.
I went with Zelda, Pikmin, Mario Kart, Metroid Prime, and Kid Icarus. If the NX makes its launch in March 2017, a few months later MK8 will be 3 years old, which is a good amount of time for a sequel to release, and Mario Kart is a big system seller that would help keep momentum up for the system after its initial sales. A 3D Metroid (doesn't have to be Prime) soon after the launch just makes sense to me. The sci-fi shooter market is huge, and Nintendo has one of the most famous characters in that genre. With good marketing it could easily be a smash hit. Kid Icarus is mostly just for my own personal tastes. I'd like to see another 3D action game, but on a system that actually has the control scheme that makes sense. Zelda and Pikmin 4 are there because, well, they should be.
Edit: All of this was not taking into account the latest NX rumor of the system being a high powered hand held with the ability to play on the big screen. Otherwise, Animal Crossing is a given.
Wave Race, Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, Pokemon, F-Zero...
And Fire Emblem ⚔
1 - Fire Emblem
2 - Final Fantasy XV
3 - Tons of games from this list.
Hmm thats weird i cant find the box that says Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival 2 ;-;
1-breath of the wild
2-pokemon spin off
3-art academy
4-F-zero
5-Smash
Any of those would be great.
A GameCube VC with MGS: TTS. That's literally the only thing that could make me get into a day one hype frenzy.
No super run aways. It's a lot closer than I would have thought
Zelda
Donkey Kong
Mario Kart
Smash
Luigis M.
NX would really jump out of the gate if it had the Zelda and a Pokemon title. Just those 2 would be an epic start.
Pikmin 4, Mario 3D Platformer, Wave Race, F- Zero, and Pilotwings. Clearly I want a second coming of the N64
Strange question, because ideally I would like to see them all! So I just voted what I think may launch during the first month or two.
An F-zero game. Just... Please. It's been too long.
1080, Eternal Darkness, F-Zero, Pilotwings and WaveRace.
Metroid.
I wouldn't mind if it was Other M2
An HD Kid Icarus would be amazing. It's the franchise we've seen the least of. A third person adventure with flight sections and good combat, upgradable weapons etc. I think this kind of game done with this IP would be very popular and would help sell hardware.
So my five votes were not necessarily reflective of what I'd prefer to play within the first 3-6 months, but for the most part, what I'd feel to be best for it. As such my five votes were cast for Nintendogs, NX Fit, Art Academy, Wave Race, and Kirby.
The first three were voted for with a more... 'casual' oriented audience in mind. After all, if the NX wishes to lure such a non-dedicated gaming audience in with the hopes of getting them more invested in gaming, it's best to release games that appeal more to them first and follow up with more 'hardcore' gaming releases. That, and they each can show off some pretty cool, with Nintendogs showing off the portability aspect, NX Fit it's benefits to health and fitness, and Art Academy allowing creativity to flourish. I'll also admit, I quite like both Wii Fit U and Art Academy, so I wouldn't mind having sequels to them on NX available.
My vote for Wave Race was on the basis that it is an obscure series, and I always like seeing them get more attention or revived. Within the early period, before the heavy hitters of Mario, Mario Kart, Pokémon, SSB and the like release, would also be the best for such obscure series to garner attention.
Finally I voted for a Kirby game... because I love Kirby games. I also feel it strikes an amazing balance between accessibility and challenge; easy to beat, hard to complete.
For me though, the question of 'if you could pick any franchises to launch a new system' is one I struggle to answer when limited to just Nintendo series. In a funny case, my focus was on 3rd party software when it came to purchasing a Wii, 3DS, and Wii U. The games I wanted when I got my Wii and 3DS were Red Steel and Dead or Alive: Dimensions. As for the Wii U, whilst my main focus was on Wonderful 101, I opted to get the system at launch with Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed. When taking into account 3rd party games as well, having 5 different Nintendo games I'd like to play within the first 3-6 months would just be aggravating; I'd never be able to purchase them all within that first year (let alone within 3-6 months).
To me, the best launch window for the NX would include a game that appeals to the 'casual' market, a game that appeals to the 'hardcore' market, a game that shows off the unique abilities of the NX, Nintendo properties that would otherwise get overshadowed once most of Nintendo's heavy hitter IPs are released, and then 3rd party support. Ultimately a steady stream of Nintendo games, consistent but not overcrowding any month would be best, with 3rd party games to support this output.
A 2D and 3D Metroid please! Plus a sexy new Animal Crossing game would be great!
a mario striker would be really awesome
Can a new IP be an answer please?
I would've selected Paper Mario as one option but Ninty seem intent on covering that franchise in glitter-covered turds.
No box for 'something new'? Really NL?
1-Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
2-Super Mario Galaxy 3
3- A new Super Mario Concept
4-Super Mario Maker NX
5-NX Fit
6-NX Sport or Resort
this is my pick for the launch Window from Nintendo
How bout a new dang IP? GameCube had a good number of them in the launch window. Would be nice to see Nintendo spice things up a bit rather than rely on what's safe. Splatoon was one of the only games that did that this gen.
Not being funny but after the end of Wii cycle draught and the unfortunate Wii U draughts of games, quite Frankly i expect the NX to have ALL of the above games available within the launch window coupled with heavy backward compatibility tied to my extensive library of purchased digital content.Give players access to everything as soon as possible and they'll have an instant flourishing userbase.Pipe dream? it's the only ace Nintendo could have right now to 'catch up' in the industry.
@PikaNick MH5 as NX exclusive and you'll see Nintendo Japan run out of NX stock in about a week.
Which would be great even for western non MH fans because it will create a large install base in Japan which means in times of need plenty of games that could be localised. I think if Nintendo can grab the likes of Persona and FF it could really help its prospects (along with third party western titles)
Just give us like 6 AAA main series games per year, that's one every two months (totally reasonable), with a couple at launch, and all of them over the lifespan of the system, with a few smaller games sprinkled liberally across each year, and I'll be happy.
Also let's relaunch some old forgotten IPs with modern gameplay.Mach Rider, Takemuras Ninja Castle (loved the Nintendoland game), make it a retro heads go too console, these indies mainly cannot compare imo, Nintendo always nail bringing back old games. It would encourage Capcom, Sega, Konami, Namco to do the same, who wouldn't want a full 3D gargoyles Quest adventure? An Amiibo compatible Ridge Racer with track creation tools? A Castlevania with dedicated 2 player co-op on one machine, even Contra? An Sega, Golden AX, Streets of Rage, Afterburner, Thunderblade, Galaxy Force all brought up to date.Well i can dream.
ZombiNX. C'mon Ubisoft, redeem yourself...
@SavoirFaire They mean enhanced ports of the Wii U games, not entirely new entries.
A new 2d Mario adventure with a completely new art style and design!
And deus ex MD!
Also Fzero NX
Plus all the wii u VC library of games!!!
I'm happy for all too be released within the first 2-3 yrs.
If we can leave the reliance on 2D platformers, that would be great! I can't think of any 2D platformer that I'd pick over Mario 64, Sunshine or Galaxy, and that's as a fan of Yoshi's Woolly World and NSMBU.
I voted Metroid 2D, Metroid 3D, F-Zero, Kid Icarus and Kirby.
Why did I vote Kirby? Because its time there's a proper, new home-console one. I hope it isn't a straight platformer though, but something else.
As for Mario: 3D Mario will happen someday. It doesn't have to happen on launch.
My point is, I chose the most unlikely games. Games that probably won't even happen further down the line (with the exception of Kid Icarus and Kirby).
Also Zelda Botw in the list is just silly since we already know its a launch-window game. Besides, it doesn't have to be on NX in my opinion. Its made for Wii u!!
Also Pokemon spin-off: Why is everyone thinking it will be a spin-off? Maybe they have finally waken up and are making a proper, full-scale homeconsole 3D one (and a proper entry at that)! Who knows?
way is dragon quest not there
@pokedex
Looks like the list is Nintendo games only, no third-party
Advance Wars.
What if they made F ZERO NX and it was an open world game where you get to travel around mute city and do what you want. Basically I'm proposing a futuristic space GTA where you can race. it would be cool to see captian Falcon travel around, give you place to explore. Heights and epic car chases to comeplete. It would bring a fresh start with some old vibe on a great franchise. You can still race anytime but you can also do heights, car chases, fight people with falcon moves or guns, or anything your little heart desires
When I said heights I meant heists
Cant wait for Pikmin 4
To be honest, im not wanting to see anything specific but their general attack plan as a whole.
Core or casual oriented, what can be expected from backwards compatibility, will we be sesing a PS4-esque "Remake-O-Rama", will their focus be on portable or stationary games (both follow vastly different design philosophies) etc.
Wanting to see a specific franchise turned out to be rather disappointing if you look at AC-Amiibo Festical, MP Federation Force and PM Color Splash.
Pokémon Stay!!!
I'm tired of being screwed over as a Metroid fan. Other M stunk and Federation Force is not what I want. We haven't had a proper 2d Metroid since what, Zero Mission somewhere around 2002?
Star Tropics 3
Super Mario Land 2 in full color
Super Mario RPG 2
EarthBound 64
Project Hammer
Kid Icarus 4 in 2D
I just want them to make amends for what they did to Pilotwings in Wii Fit.
Pilotwings deserves respect.
The neglect of Wave Race is also unforgivable.
Sort this out Nintendo. Last chance.
Since I won't be buying an NX at launch the only game I want is Zelda Breath of the Wild on Wii u. Nintendo will have to sell NX to me and the games will be the selling point. I'd love a new Wave Race or F Zero. I'd also like a new Stunt Race FX.
Nintendo used to make the best racing games.
Of course, 3D Super Mario platformer.
I saw Wave Race, I had to pick that one.
A Chibi Robo game, people will actually buy and appreciate.
@Martendo Stunt Race FX was sick !
How about remake of Bravely Default and Bravely Second as a single release? They're better than most of the FF mainline entries!
Let's also have the next Animal Crossing and I'm hoping for Dragon Quest 11, which was near enough confirmed (though not necessarily for launch).
Maybe something that'll get updated with new features fairly regularly? If you were to add a new Mario Maker or Splatoon, you could keep adding new stuff to it till the NX's successor rolls in.
Heck, pack in Mario Maker 2 with the console, update it with new stuff regularly, and watch the sales grow...
Hey, Metroid is 30 years old today!
A celebration Deserves? XD
I hve stated several times here, but I guess it won't hurt one more: "Berserk Musou".
A new "F-Zero" outta nowhere would also make me a happy NX owner.
I picked 3D Mario platformer, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Pikmin 4, Metroid Prime, and Nintendo Land.
Don't know why Mario Party is tied to Nintendo Land in the options though; completely different type of games.
If Fire Emblem or Advance Wars were options, I'd pick those instead. I'd even pick Xenoblade even though its not realistic that a new one would release that soon!
@Madder128
One of my favourite games 😊
Not voting for my most anticipated games, but those that I believe make the most sense to be released in the initial 6 month launch window.
Day 1:
-Breath of the Wild
-3D Mario Game
Botw for the obvious reason that its happening. It was incredibly smart for Nintendo to hold its release for the NX launch. Provides a grade A block buster hit that has already generated a substantial amount of hype at E3. This is the game that gives anyone interested in the NX a reason to purchase the system.
Mario is the staple of Nintendo characters and is expected at launch in one form or another. After the release of Mario Maker I recall Miyamoto stating its time for Mario to Evolve. I took this as acknowledgment that another stale 2d rehash won't make the cut after the creative tools have already been given to the users. I'd expect a 3D Mario title: Possible Galaxy/3D world sequel.
High tier fillers:
-Racing Game (Fzero or Wave Race)
-Platformer (DKC, Yoshi, Kirby, Rayman)
-Pikmin 4
Nintendo will release a couple high tier games to bolster their initial lineup while we wait for the 2nd blockbuster to drop (hopefully 6-10 months down the line). IMO the perfect candidates would be a racing and platforming game. This hits a wide range of game types while allowing its users to test the systems new portable perks. Casual platforming: situations with limited time (car rides, bus stops, lunch breaks, etc..) Racing game: group/party play on individual systems. Online play.
Pikmin 4 since its been in the works for quite sometime and adds a unique experience to the lineup.
Low Tier Fillers:
-Casual Play (NX sports / NX fit)
-Wario Ware
-Pokemon spinoff
Games that are targeted to either an extremely wide or narrow audience. Not saying these games are bad, but the hype levels are for a select few. The rest of us either give them a shot out of curiosity or pass while we save for the next game.
2nd Major Release:
-Metroid Prime
-Pokemon Main Series
Nintendo will need a follow up game to carry the system and all of its release hype into the holiday season. Here's to hoping Metroid Prime is the game.
Shadow of the Eternals, or whatever Eternal Darkness-ish game. Bayonetta 3. Okami sequel. No More Heroes 3. Madworld 2. Beyond Good & Evil 2. Persona 5. Etrian Odyssey. Monster Hunter. More.
And of course all the Luigi's Mansions, Pikmins, Zelda's, Metroids, Mothers, 1080's, Doshins, and pleasant surprises they can come up with.
A stadium like pokemon game.
I bet Nintendo will release breath of the wild on nx before its released on wii u by at least a month or 2. This will entice wii u owners to get the nx version. I just went to my local wallmart and the Nintendo section was being used to hold there extra xbox crap. There was 4 wii u games and about 20 3ds games. No systems. so sad.
Many games, too little time,
something new maybe?
Would love to see a Pokemon game launched to link up with Sun and Moon to battle your Pokemon in 3D like in the Pokemon Stadium days as there wasn't a Pokemon game released on Wii U to link up with your 3Ds Pokemon games for some strange reason.
Didn't see 3D Mario platforms for some reason till after I voted. But with Zelda known, Mario Kart would be my next top pick. Splatoon, Smash, F-Zero, and Pilot wings would be nice. Based on what has been said it would be hard to see Metroid coming out in the launch window.
Okay so the first thing I do in the choices is look for Golden Sun. Not there... (as expected >.<)
I did vote for 5, but my actual votes would have gone to:
Golden Sun - 3
Advance Wars - 2
These two series have been "seemingly" forgotten since their DS entry, and I really want them to make a glorious comeback on the NX. If NX is a hybrid, then it would be all the more awesome since I can take them on the go (more like bed xD) or play them on the TV.
Also, shout-out to all the people who mentioned GS in the comments! Golden Sun has not been forgotten by us
I also really love Monster Hunters, but I have been playing that for quite some time, and haven't even started Generations yet!
I voted 3D Mario, Pikmin 4, WarioWare, Luigi's Mansion, and Zelda. I thought WarioWare would of got more votes for sure. I loves those games, they always show off new Nintendo hardware in clever ways which makes me think of all the possibilities for future games.
Monster hunter back on a console with voice chat!
Hard to actually come up with 5 choices. I didn't realise Nintendo have so few franchises that interest me anymore. Probably doesn't help that I'm not buying an NX anyway.
I don't really care what 5 games would be available at launch, I think having 5 games available at launch is a terrible idea. I'd rather have one game a month for 5 months than 5 games on day one and nothing for six months. Another software drought would suggest that Nintendo have messed things up again and depress sales of both hardware and software. Nintendo need a strong launch but that doesn't mean putting all their eggs in one basket either.
So I voted for Splatoon, Metroid Prime, Mario Kart, Pokemon, Luigi's Mansion.
I voted for Luigi's Mansion over a Mario game because I would love to see a system push this series to the limit visually. Plus, if we get a portable/home console hybrid, they could maybe do some augmented reality with ghost hunting! A new Prime game is way over due, nuff said! Mario Kark was my favorite game on the Wii U, I want more plus it's been a while since the series has had a portable release. Finally I picked Pokemon for multiple reasons. 1.) it would be awesome for a Pokemon (main series) game to finally make it to a home console. 2.) with all the popularity of Pokemon at the moment, this game could potentially be a system seller, which would be great for everyone else.
I didn't vote for Zelda because it's already coming. I also didn't vote for Smash because an "ultimate versions" is coming...I think. I also didn't vote Mario platformer, even though I love them, just because we had plenty of him on Wii U.
Like others, I question where Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, & Advanced Wars are??? Especially Fire Emblem!
If the list was open to non-Nintendo games, I would vote for Monster Hunter, Fall Out 4, Street Fighter/Capcom Vs Marvel, FIFA/Madden/...any serious sports title.
The game that NX needs the most is a real 3D Mario game, but that won't happen until 2019, if it ever happens at all.
Pokemon Go Stadium!
@VanillaLake
I think it's almost a guarantee that a 3D Mario game will end up on the NX. Actually, wasn't there an article that said that Nintendo will have a Mario game in the early stages of the NX?
@dkxcalibur Correct, but not long ago Reggie or Miyamoto (I don't remember exactly if one or the other) said that we will see "an interesting Mario game in 2 or 3 years". The Mario and Pokemon games in the launch window could easily be spin-off games or ports.
3D Mario, Spin-Off Pokémon, Splatoon 2, Kid Icarus, and NX Fit were my choices. I would have said Paper Mario but it wouldn't be an rpg anymore, and I would have said Fire Emblem but it's not there.
@khaosklub I'm curious what they would do with a new Ice Climbers game. It would be an attention grabber, no doubt.
@Ninten-san Sticker Star happened, if I recall. Miyamoto saying that the game had to be changed because it "played too much like Thousand Year Door" was the most wrong thing I've ever heard from a game developer. I'd be too worried that they'd make another "action adventure" game out of it to ask for one.
I chose:
Splatoon
Smash Bros
Mario Maker
The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
Mario Kart
golden sun and breath of wild
@Zorox88 heck yeah Golden Sun 4 along with luigis mansion, metroid prime 4,zelda breath of wild and splatoon 2
@LasermasterA yeah you can hope for golden sun 4 but I highly doubt that will (sigh...) happen....
@triforceprime84
Well the chances are not too high, but nothing wrong with hoping xD They might re-invigorate their older franchises if NX doesn't face too many problems, hence they could take a "risk" with GS. I really want that Golden Sun 4!
I just have one question to Nintendo about GS:
Why?
yeah well they could try to get sales with the virtual console and I know maybe getting my hopes to high but after golden sun 4 (NX) I want to see golden sun 1and 2 remake then a golden sun prequel then golden sun 5
@Not_Soos
It does not matter what you think. Business-wise it would be smart to take all of Mario Kart 8 with all of the DLC and put it out for NX users. Same with Smash Brothers and with Splatoon. The install base wasn't large enough to let these great games go to waste this would be a chance for a new audience to experience these games. We all know Mario Kart 9 and Splatoon to her already and development I'm just saying it would be nice to have day one some easy titles to have out there for people who didn't get to experience them the first time around. I am going to be purchasing an NX day one. I bought a Wii U on launch day. And I have over 40 titles for that system not including downloaded ones. I will be playing BREATH OF THE WILD and new content. And that is fine with me. It makes good business sense to take product you already have and release it for consumers who are not able to consume it yet. And that's what Nintendo needs to worry about right now they need to worry about saving its company not about Wii U owners that felt burned.
@andrew20 that's not going to happen! I wish!
