I'm not sure why everyone was expecting a traditional Pokemon experience. I mean, sure, battles would be cool, but with how much work they have to do with AR and real-world integration, plus it being free-to-play (right?), I don't see battles being a thing any time soon. Too much work. Although, battles would make a cool update, or maybe when they make a sequel they could add them.
Several gave said it already, but Miis are too limited. They need more customizability. Maybe not Sims level of customization, but it would be nice to have more control over the rest of the body, not just the face (while still keeping it family friendly). I'd also like to see better detail on Miis, since Miis were low detail 10 years ago. (Oh, and I haven't tried the Wii U's feature for taking your picture and making a Mii of it, but on the 3DS it was laughably bad. Nintendo should fix that on the NX.)
I used to mostly download games, but then my 3DS's SD card corrupted, and I hadn't backed it up in a long time (it was broken for a while), so all my Animal Crossing and Pokemon Y save data is gone. I'm more inclined to buy cartridges now since I don't trust that downloaded games' save data will stay safe. If I have to buy it on the eShop I will, though.
VR will probably flop. Best case scenario it gets a small niche market, and then maybe in 2018-19 the tech gets cheap enough to get mainstream appeal. The problem with VR right now is that all of the "cheap" (calling Gear VR and PSVR cheap) VR headsets are too low quality to be of any worth, and all the good VR headsets are $600+. The Kinect was cheaper, and even with $500 million in advertising it still flopped (kinda). Oh, and there's no system-selling VR games anywhere on the horizon.
@Slave123 That would actually be helpful. "Let's see... well, she likes Pokemon, good, good... wait, WHAT?!? Bulbasaur's her favorite Gen 1 starter? OH HECK NO." swipes left It would help us find love based on what really matters.
This could be useful for sign-language recognition. However, I don't see any use for this tech that would justify the cost of putting it in a controller besides face-tracking.
You guys have to see it in order to truly appreciate it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA5XqON9OcI Not sure what's with the Sonic Boom comparison, though, as this game and that game are very, VERY different games.
We kept saying that the next big game will turn the Wii U around. We finally got that game. And after E3, a lot of my video gamer friends who previously weren't planning on getting a Wii U are now either planning on buying one by Smash Bros.'s release or seriously considering it. Plus, the Wii U looks set to outpace the Xbox One for at least a few more weeks.
@Genesaur That's what I've been seeing as well. It seems like the Wii U is finally hitting its stride, with Mario Kart 8 a few weeks ago and a successful E3.
@Kroisos Yes. I agree 100%. I'm surprised that Sony hasn't even attempted to fix the DualShock's analog stick issue. In fact, I'm surprised that no one has used the Gamepad's/Wii U Pro Controller's stick and button placement until 2012.
Good. The Gamepad needs to stay. However, hopefully the 3rd party studios that aren't making games for the Wii U don't see the Gamepad as an entry barrier. The game doesn't need unique Gamepad functionality, just release the dang thing for Wii U.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Stop keeping the GameCube controller-only snobs alive, Nintendo! You could have defeated the disease that has plagued Smash Bros local multiplayer matches for 6 years! Oh well. I guess a Smash Bros get-together wouldn't be a Smash Bros get-together without that one guy that needs to use a GameCube controller.
I think the voice is fine. Besides, they always "clean up" voices for stuff like this. Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon sounds a lot more nasal-ly in studio, but Dreamworks cleans up the audio. My guess is that Sticks will be similar. (And it's interesting to see a negative reaction from the Nintendo crowd when there's such a positive reaction in the Sonic community.)
Thank goodness. Except for Funky Stadium in MK Wii, just about every recent arena was terribly designed for kart battling. If karts didn't have things like momentum and speed, sure, the arenas would be great. However, they do, and courses that forget the physics of a kart aren't fun. Having tracks being adjusted for kart battling makes a lot more sense since the tracks are actually designed for karts. (Funky Stadium has the rare quality among battle courses of being fun to drive around on and having obstacles without high risk of losing all momentum due to bad level design.)
Honestly, I'm fine with this. Using European translations in North America could mess up the game due to differences in speaking, and it since it takes a whole lot of time and resources just to localize this for one language, it doesn't make sense to right off the bat translate to a language that only around 2% of North America would benefit from (French) or a language only majorly used in a country/region (I'm not sure if Central America is counted in this) that doesn't seem to buy nearly as many video games as major video game countries, like Japan and the US (Spanish). If there's enough demand, Nintendo can either patch or re-release the game with more translations.
Man, this game is fun, but there isn't a way to be able to see every plane's position at the airport, which is a problem. I've Game Over-ed a couple times on the Hard demo stage because planes would be in places I didn't want them too, but I couldn't see that until that stupid plane that needs to be towed to spot 61 would collide with them.
You know you're on a Nintendo-oriented site when literally no one stylizes inFAMOUS correctly. Lowercase i and n, capital "famous", got it? (Sorry, it just bugs me for some reason. I'm a Nintendo fan through and through, but I thought inFAMOUS [at least the first one] was a really good game.)
Hopefully this update fixes the college Wifi error issue. Unless practically no one else in my hall was using Wifi, I'd get error messages and couldn't keep a streak going.
Man, I'm not sure why, but I think I'm addicted to the multiplayer in this game. I really want to buy the full version, but A) Thanks to the new tax implementation on the eShop, I'm 53 cents short, and B) I often randomly disconnect; of course, that problem might be on my end.

Why does Atlantis look the most futuristic and Eden the least futuristic? It's supposed to be the other way around.

Re: Talking Point: Sony's PlayStation VR Launch Adds Pressure to Nintendo's Holiday - and Perhaps NX - Plans
I could see Nintendo rising as the champion of video games after the VR disaster, waving the flag of Zelda and NX this holiday.

@MrMario02 Link Between Worlds is a gamer's game. New Leaf has a lot more appeal to non-gamers. Mario Kart 8 would also make a good candidate.

@Tasuki The core game's still the same, and these can't be used in online multiplayer. I see it more like physical DLC.
