Earlier this month Nintendo of America announced eight more games for the Nintendo Selects range, and they arrive in stores today (26th August).
There are some gems in the updated collection, which are undoubtedly worth a look for $19.99. The new additions and a trailer are below:
- Animal Crossing: New Leaf
- Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
- Tomodachi Life
- Nintendogs + Cats - Golden Retriever and New Friends
- LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
- Nintendo Land
- LEGO City Undercover
It's also worth noting that a small white New 3DS bundle is also available from today, but it's exclusive to Target and Walmart. The Target website is still taking orders at $149.99, which you can check out right here.
Are you planning to pick any of these games up at their bargain price? Let us know in the comments.

Yay!!!
That New 3DS bundle made me drooling.
How beautiful that White body color...
Also, very cheap bundle.
Still have yet to play the 3DS Animal Crossing...
Great, now we just need the Eshop Selects Range like what Europe is getting.
How is $149 a bargain? That's the same price it's been!
I don't understand why they didn't offer a Nintendo select game of your choice instead of just 3D Land.
Maybe Nintendo Land will magically re-appear on eShop now!
#hope
I want that New 3DS so badly... But I really shouldn't be spending my money on that since I already have the original mode. Hopefully it isn't limited so I have a chance to pick it up down the road.
I really hope they add a few more selects before the end of Wii U. I have not yet purchased Super Mario Bros U or Hyrule Warriors for example, but definitely would if they make it to the Selects line!
@GameOtaku At least in the US, the small New 3DS models have always been $200. But yeah, in general, it's not a huge steal since it is roughly the same price as Japan now.
FINALLY, Luigi's Mansion has been added! But for the love of god...when will Super Mario 3D Land be $20?!? WHEN?!?
I dont get it whi SuperMarioBros U is still not in this range of price while 3D world is ...
@wiggleronacid
Problem is, Nintendo thinks of it as "graciously allowing" us to buy it at the same price as their "precious" Japanese audience.
Well, at least they included two $20 faceplates and a nice Mario game. Though, I'd rather they drop the Mario game (already have it, as do many 3DS owners) and put in A FREAKING CHARGER.
@AVahne
Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. We will got New 3DS without charger.
Waiting for LCU on Wii U and Luigi's Mansion 2 on 3DS to show up, out from delivery via Amazon Logistics. Best thing about Selects titles, Amazon treats them as "new" so 20% off of each.
I'm kind of confused abut the New 3DS. Old game, store exclusive, New 3DS isn't even sold in the US. They could have made a big deal about New 3DS nationwide in the US for $149 alongside the Selects, wouldn't even need a game.
Oh well, at least they are trying. Much more so for 3DS than Wii U.
@rk3388 yeah i dont have hyrule warriors either
planning to get windwaker hd and maybe lego city undercover !
I already have all the Wii U ones, but I'll pick up Luigi's Mansion and maybe Tomodachi Life.
@rjejr
Wow, you're waiting two games that exactly same with my shopping list right now.
I'll order LEGO CITY Undercover and Luigi Mansion Dark Moon tomorrow. Chance to get very deal price.
Yes!!! Finally I will get to play Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon.
I think given the timing there will be another wave of selects in November to coincide with Black Friday.
The small New 3DS has been out for a week here in Canada. And it's still available at all retailers. Crossing my fingers that it will still be available in October so my daughter has a new 3DS to play Pokemon Sun and Moon on.
From those, not a single one interests me. Hopefully they include 3D world soon
i was thinking of getting Lego City: Undercover but then i realise once in the eshop that since i live in canada, those game are still 29.99 instead of 19.99... i mean, its still better than full price, but, idk...
@Grumblevolcano Unless Nintendo puts all of its limited marketing muscle behind FE and AC on mobile for the holidays. 2 games that should release in the next few months we know absolutely nothing about, except Reggie thinks FE will bring in the casuals.
I think this is the last Selects for the US, I'm not sure about EU. Paper Mario needs room to sell at $60.
I want that white n3ds. I hate you Nintendo.
@Anti-Matter yeah it really is. I got my New XL at Target last year for $175 which was a good price then.
I do like that smaller model bundle and would have gotten that if available. Oh well.
@huxxny U can pick up Lego Undercover used for 9$ (12 with shipping) on amazon.com .... isnt worth much more anyway.
Want!
Don't need it(have a New 3DS XL). But totally want this....
Have the Pokemon N3DS Wish I waited and saved $50 but the Pokemon one came with extras so I guess it's a toss up.
Nintendo Land is back on the eShop! Huzzah!
@Anti-Matter Mine just came in the mail, now I need to find a time to play them.
Will these games be made into Selects in Europe, does anybody know?
@rjejr Color Splash will have around the same sales as Star Fox Zero whether there's anything near it or not unless the NX reveal has a massive backlash (think XB1 reveal in 2013). So there's no harm in adding another selects wave.
@rk3388
Hyrule Warriors (Wii U) really needs a price cut either way, considering the 3DS version has way more content and is only $40.
Milk them loyal customers. Ha ha
@Grumblevolcano "same sales as Star Fox Zero"
Maybe, but I'm willing to bet you it doesn't have the same high return #'s as SFZ. People will keep PM.
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/05/random_store_shelves_appear_to_be_filling_with_pre-owned_copies_of_star_fox_zero
@rjejr Well that depends on when the NX is unveiled. An important point that's usually overlooked regarding the SFZ high return is that less than a week after launch Nintendo announced that NX is launching in March 2017 with Zelda U being a NX game.
Let's say the NX is fully revealed on the week beginning October 10th I'd imagine we'd be seeing similar results on that front too.
And meanwhile, Australia doesn't get s-YAHOO.
(Mario bleep)
New 3DS bundle was sold out everywhere (everywhere consisting of 2 walmarts and a target), unfortunate given my newly-minted "on the market" status.
@Grumblevolcano You think people returned SFZ b/c NX was supposed to release a whole year later? Sorry, but that makes no sense to me. Bad controls, short game, N64 graphics, those are reasons to return a game, not b/c in 12 months there will be a new piece of hardware.
PM won't be returned, only people who really want PM will buy it. Doesn't matter when the NX reveal is, unless PM is getting a NX port. I do hope the last week of Sept is the NX reveal, after TGS, before PSVR launches. Then people can just buy PM and forget about NX for awhile.
I recommend Lego City Undercover for Wii U as it's often overlooked and is a great game.
@rjejr Sure it makes sense, I'd imagine a lot of Wii U buyers from June 2014 onwards partially did so because of Zelda U and so that news may have been the final straw from all the droughts.
Since used prices dropped recently to below the price of the Selects I picked Up Luigi's Mansion 2 and Lego City Undercover. I'm still looking for a used Wind Waker, I like the original artwork better.
I'm thinking about Nintendogs and Lego City U...at some point. MyNintendo has had some of the other Selects available at discounted price so I'll wait to spend my stockpile on those discounts when they come up.
Hopefully September gives us something to spend on...
Fiddlesticks! Just paid $40.00 for LM: DM, and haven't even started it yet. Maybe I'll take a flier on Animal Crossing. Short play times sounds good, but I'm not sure I'm willing to invest in it long-term.
New 3DS owners, how does the size of the small New 3DS compare to the original 3DS and 3DS XL?
Probably gonna pick up WW HD sometime
Maybe I will get Zelda WW with my next paycheck.
@Sunset758 They probably will be,maybe in the next wave of Selects.I think from those above,only LM:DM, AC:NL and TL are yet to be confirmed or already appear as Selects in Europe.
@MetaRyan
New 3DS is a little bit bigger than older small 3DS but still smaller than both old 3DS XL and New 3DS XL. From aesthetic aspect, Small New 3DS looks so so fancy due to changeable faceplates and colorful buttons. I haven't owned a small New 3DS yet but i have ever compared the size by myself.
@Anti-Matter I want a New 3DS XL, but I want to save money, so if the New 3DS is larger than the original 3DS that's good, my hands are getting too big for it.
I want a replacement 3DS for Pokemon Sun & Moon, but at the same time I want to see what the NX is before I buy a New 3DS, because I might buy an NX instead. So many things to buy and so little money...
Is Target the only store selling that 3DS bundle?Can't find it anywhere else.
@MetaRyan
New 3DS XL now have four official color for USA and or ASIA version (Asia version provided by play-asia.com, it sold in my country Indonesia with very reasonable price). There are Black and Red (First launching), Blue (Asia version or from Monster Hunter Generation bundle) and Pearl White (Asia version). Both USA and ASIA version of New 3DS XL can play both USA and ASIA 3DS games. If you live in USA, probably Blue or Red color for best recommendation. Because, if you prefer Pearl White color, you might order from play-asia.com. Well, happy hunting for the Best New 3DS XL that matching with your taste.
@MetaRyan
I'd always had the xl as the original 3ds screens were just too tiny for me. My grandson loves the one I got him, but my (cough...cough) more mature eyes couldn't handle it. The weight/size of the xl was a bit of a problem.
I got the Animal Crossing N3ds and I love it. The screens are just enough larger to be fine. I am still amazed at the vibrancy of the colours over the xl. I just got another copy of LM:DM and it is so much prettier on the N3DS than my old xl. The volume is much better. I love the white with the coloured buttons, too.
If you have big hands I can see the N3Ds being a problem, but it's a good fit for me and worth it for the vibrancy of the colours and the crisp display.
Anyone know if the bundle will be restocked? Nintendo of America is being VERY scalper friendly at the moment.
I see Nintendo getting ready for the Holiday season! (and selling as much 3DS and Wii U as possible before the NX)
I'm hoping these will come to Europe soon-ish. I recently got a New Nintendo 3DS XL so I gave my old 3DS to my sister, and I know she would be stoked to get Animal Crossing on the 3DS. We played the living daylights out of the GameCube one.
@GameOtaku Its a bargain because it the other variations of the standard New 3DS have launched at $199 (or $219 for the Happy Home Designer one) in North America.
I would really, really like for Nintendo to release the black standard New 3DS here in the states. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
Wait. Is this only for the E-shop? Or is it physical too?
@Tempestryke The only thing "physical" is the 3DS ... Nintendo wouldnt give you a free physical copy of anything along, cause thats "worth something"
@ironside1911
Umm...who said anything about free? I wanted to know if I could go pick these games up at stores for $20.00 or if they're only on the e-shop for that price?
@Tempestryke That was meant for the 3DS bundle, the select titles are always available in physical form in shops/amazon etc.
@ironside1911
Thanks.
I pre-ordered the cart of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon from Amazon and got $5 off the already low price of $19.99 with free shipping Amazon ships FAST. I already have the game and it is very fun and polished.
Thanks Nintendolife! I've been meaning to replace my new 3ds XL. Thanks for the heads up on the deal! There was only a handful available in my area. I'm now the proud owner of a New 3DS; I'm loving these plate covers!
It's 28 and i still can't find that 3ds bundle on walmart.
And target doesn't let me buy it from their website, it says "stores only".
Um... good job Nintendo, next time why don't just release it on Amazon where people can actually buy the stuff you're selling?
@Luceus that is how I bought mine. Pulled up via zip code and told me what stores had them. (A handful of like 1s and 2s between 8 Targets in my area). Ordered it/paid for it online, walked into the store and picked it up. It was ready for pick up in less than an hour. Honestly great job Nintendo!
@orravan85 So the only way to get it is going to the store? no shipping at all?
@Luceus yup. At least for target, that is exactly the case. I found it more convenient in terms of getting it faster va 5-7 days later.
Black New 3ds please
Got the New 3DS at a Target that was not so close to home, the only one left within a 20 mile radius. Went on amazon and I got the Fire Emblem cover plates...I had a good birthday.
Just realized that Amazon gives a 20% discount to these as well within 2 weeks of release date for Prime members. So they are $15.99 each.
