>and a new twist on the classic game of S.C.O.O.T. Would someone care to inform me what "S.C.O.O.T." is? The only result I'm finding online is "Split Cycle and Offset Optimisation Technique", and I'm guessing that's not it.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 wasn't coming to the West until Fall anyway, so this only (negatively) affects Japan and those planning on importing (or downloading from the Japanese eShop). That being said, the first game is a welcome addition to the Switch.
Even if GameStop's CEO doesn't know the unannounced titles, it's likely Nintendo has given him information on how many physical titles are expected to ship, along with pricing, and also he'd likely be able to see what 3rd parties are shipping Switch games. I think it's safe to say that Smash won't be the only tentpole release this year. I just wonder if Game Freak can finish Pokemon in time, or if Nintendo will opt for other title.
The foundation of a great game is there, but it looks like they haven't put in that final 10% of polish that juices up a game from boring to outstanding.
As is, I'm stuck in a loop of being good enough in S to rank up to S+ easily, but then being bad enough against all the S+ players that I immediately rank back down to S. Hopefully having an X rank will move the players with unhealthy skill at the game into their own matchmaking, and so normal people like me have a chance to actually stay at S+ for a little while.
Alright, so even though there isn't a confirmed release date, Q1 2018 is the most specific Team Cherry has been. Hopefully having this feature means they're starting up the PR machine for the Switch release and that it's releasing sooner rather than March.
@Folkloner I like to think that no mention of framerate or resolution means that the reviewer never noticed any issues with them, meaning they're "good enough".
Man. Every other medium (movies, TV, comic books, etc) of Star Wars has been firing on all cylinders since the Disney acquisition, and the vast majority of that has been high-quality content made by passionate people, but EA just doesn't seem to care much that they have the privilege to make Star Wars games. 2 mediocre shooters and a mobile game in... has it been 6 years now? I really hope Disney gives the Star Wars license to a publisher more worthy of the franchise.
"So if the Unreal Engine can adapt to Switch"
Spoiler alert, UE4 has native Switch support
Edit: I suppose they could be using Unreal Engine 3, though I'm not sure why they would since Unreal Engine 4 was out around the time they started development
@scoobdoo Battlefront 2 reportedly was the second best selling game of November, and yet sales were much lower than projected. Being the best selling game on the eShop doesn't automatically mean it sold as well as Nintendo was hoping.
You can like the designs, or you can dislike the designs, but I think Monolithsoft is learning a very valuable lesson as sales numbers start coming out from North America and Europe: if you design female characters as fanservice first and characters second, your NA/EU sales will suffer. Sure, you can argue that it shouldn't matter because video games are an art form, or that it would be censorship to make certain characters look decent, but if the character design directly causes thousands of lost sales, then the designs were a mistake.
I really wanted to go to Symphony of the Goddesses this year, but the showing near my home is while I'm at college, and the one near my college is while I'm at home.
If any of you aren't sure if you want to get this game, go buy the original Valkyria Chronicles on Steam during the Thanksgiving or Christmas sales (it'll most likely be on sale during at least one of them). Codename S.T.E.A.M. is probably the most similar game to this series, but if you haven't played that game, it's like Mario + Rabbids, but you aim your shots, and it has an excellently constructed story.
From the article it sounds like Nintendo is expecting to tap into the casual market in a big way during the next fiscal year. Perhaps Pokemon and/or Animal Crossing are coming by Christmas 2018.
The Festival Plaza and everything in it should've been first on the list of "What We Can Improve/Fix/Remove In Pokemon Sun & Moon for Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon"
I've only ever played the 3rd one, but that one is a blast with a good group of friends. I think whether you enjoy these games or not is really down to having the right group of friends, and having 8 players is much more fun than 3-5.
@Nerdling The Sloshing Machine was almost broken in Tower Control, but I agree that the weapon is now probably useless in Turf War. I wish the devs would've nerfed it in such a way to be fair in Tower Control while still being viable in other modes. And yes, the Rapid Blaster needs a nerf. I feel like blaster-hopping is the new fire-hopping, in that it's more exploit than technique, and I think Nintendo needs to patch it.
For those of you that can't see what the text of the post says, it says: "What would you say if we told you there was a Faygo Easter egg in the game that no one has found to this day?"
20 people x 18 months x ~$10,000 per dev per month (ballpark estimate for game development cost) = $3.6 million in profit. If we assume that's 70% of the total revenue the game has made (assuming Nintendo/Sony/Valve each take a 30% cut), then total revenue would be ~$5.14 million. Divide that by each game costing $20, and the game needs to sell around 257,000 copies to cover development costs.
It's fine that the Switch version won't get the update until later, but it bugs me that Microsoft didn't say anything about a delay until the update was released on other platforms.
Have Patreon accounts been taken down before in relation to mod/fangame creation? I mean, blocking downloads of the game is pretty common, and we've seen videos being taken down in the past, but taking down a Patreon seems like a lot. I wonder what this means for Nintendo IP-related fan works that are free but still make money through other means, such as Pokémon Brick Bronze.
Looks like the Rapid Blaster got nerfed too, which is a good thing. I'm not sure how I feel about the Inkjet nerf though; when I'm fighting an Inkjet I get annoyed at how hard they are to splat, but when I'm using an Inkjet I get annoyed at how quickly I get splatted.
@Biff_ARMStrong Read over what you just wrote carefully. If you actually believe all of what you wrote, then I have no hope that you'll understand any argument I make, so it wouldn't be worth the effort to try.
@Biff_ARMStrong Most of your arguments are complete crap, but I don't feel like wasting energy tearing them apart. All I'll say is if you're a big fan of ARMS you don't have much right to complain about games with "mediocre" reviews and camera issues.
Oh good, we've gone from "currently undergoing testing" to "submitting for testing this week". I wonder if they'll regress to saying they're "currently bug-fixing" next week.

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze's Switch File Is Almost Half The Size Of The Wii U Version
Now that the game fits on an 8GB cart, Nintendo can't blame the inflated price on the extra cost of using a larger cart.
