Unfortunately everything costs more today. I’m surprised game prices have remained level for so many years. I remember getting a copy of Mega Man 4 for the NES in the early 90’s for $50. Paying $80 for a game today isn’t great news, but inflation is real.
Unicorn Overlord and Clock Tower Rewind for me this weekend. Looking forward to more layers of strategy in the former and hopefully a bit of horror in the latter. Happy gaming!
Unicorn Overlord (NS) is my game of choice this weekend. Will try to finish Silent Hill 2 Remake as well (currently reached the hotel). I can only play the latter at night with headphones so that the family doesn’t wake up, so maximum terror it is. Happy gaming!
There is nothing scummy about this practice. It is completely legitimate and quite effective to defend your business. You have to ensure you are covered before you go public with an idea. Analyzing whether your competitors can file divisional patents to block you are part of that.
EDIT: Also, the language used in the linked analysis does not portray that they understand what is happening clearly. Rather that they have picked a side.
More Silent Hill 2 Remake on PS5 for me! It is quite a bit different from the original - more like an escape room full of monsters. But it is so good! Happy gaming!
I just bought a Wii U last week with Paper Mario Color Splash. Loving it and see quite a few other titles to grab as well. Xenoblade Chronicles X being released on Switch is great for everyone, and does not sour my purchase of the Wii U.
Beat Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse and found the game to be quite scary. Any scenes where you have to run from untouchable enemies will do this to me. Quite stressful, but not to an annoying level at all.
Started up Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen and really enjoying my time with it. Will also continue The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (3DS) and Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse (3DS). I’m on the fire temple in the former and early on in the latter. Happy gaming!
Finishing up Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. Currently on the 11th phase and really liking the story.
Will also put some time into The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (3DS), Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader (GCN), and the classic Resident Evil (GCN).
Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse (NS) - on the 5th chapter. The game is pretty good, but could use faster character movement. Definitely a bit scary.
Silent Hill 2 (PS5) - Fantastic recreation of the original game! Super scary, with maybe the only nitpick being more focus on combat than I recall with the original. Sometimes wondering if/when you will face monsters is more tense. Highly recommend it.
Will complete the 4th dungeon of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Halloween = horror games! Almost finished Alan Wake Remastered (currently on Episode 6). Not the best gameplay loop, but I love the atmosphere and story. Will move on to Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse next.
Lastly, super excited for Silent Hill 2 (PS5) to arrive next week! Happy gaming!
Key here is that a divisional patent uses the parent patent’s specification. So any claims in the new divisional filings would have to be described in that 2021 filing.
Finished Metroid Zero Mission (GBA) this past week and what an amazing game it was. One of the best Metroid games in my opinion, even if it was a bit short.
Will work toward completing Chapter 9 of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (NS) , solving the case in Emio: The Smiling Man (NS) , and leaving the first town in Golden Sun (GBA). Happy gaming!
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Chapter 8, NS), Etrian Odyssey II (Floor 9, DS), Final Fantasy III (DS), and Metroid Zero Mission (GBA).
The last game has been quite a surprise and easily one of the best Metroid games I’ve played. Looking forward to picking up Fusion afterward. Happy gaming!
Beat Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, but only had enough money to get a dead tree as a palace… so have quite a few more treasures to hunt.
Discovered Etrian Odyssey II (DS) and was immediately hooked. What a cozy and punishing game. Will also continue to play Metroid Zero Mission (GBA). Happy gaming!
Just beat Castlevania Order of Ecclesia (DS) - what a fantastic game! I was unsure about the divided stages until reaching the last. Great music as well. 10/10
Relaxing with Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (Chapter 2, DS), Golden Sun (Just started, GBA), and more Wario Land (4th world, GB). On switch playing SMTVV (currently in the middle of the 2nd area). Happy gaming!
Beat the original Dragon Quest (bit of a grind) and continued Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Will push forward on the latter along with continuing my Persona 4 Golden playthrough (currently near the end of January).
Also plan to play some Wario Land on the virtual boy in between. Happy gaming!
Really hooked on Star Ocean: First Departure R (maybe 11 hours or so in). Fun game with a lot of nostalgia feelings.
I’m also at the end of chapter 8 on Paper Mario TTYD. Good game, but I didn’t feel like it offered much more than Paper Mario (N64), which was a tighter game.
Lastly, putting some more time into Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Chapter 8). Happy gaming!
Beat Metroid Samus Returns (3DS) at 100% last weekend. Excellent Metroid game.
Picked up Star Ocean: First Departure R and was hooked by nostalgia. Will mix in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Chapter 8) and Paper Mario TTYD (Chapter 7). Happy gaming!
Very close to beating Metroid: Samus Returns (3ds), so will focus on that. Also playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Chapter 7) and Paper Mario TTYD (Chapter 7). Happy gaming!
Focusing on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - which is amazing to explore. Also playing Paper Mario TTYD and Metroid Samus Returns (3DS) whenever it feels right. Happy gaming!
I’ve been playing both Paper Mario (N64) and Paper Mario TTYD up to chapter 5 and found the former to be more interesting. I’ll stick with that and revisit my 40h file of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and work in some Metroid: Samus Returns (3DS). Happy gaming!
Almost forgot- beat Fire Emblem Engage on hard after about 75 h. Great gameplay, with mediocre writing.
Paper Mario (Chapter 6, N64), Fire Emblem Engage (Chapter 21), and SMT IV (3DS). The last one will for sure be completed this weekend and then maybe add SMT V: Vengeance. Happy gaming!
Getting close to the end of SMT IV(3DS) [maybe??]. Finally beat the 17th chapter of Fire Emblem Engage after taking half of a year off. Lastly, just finished chapter 4 on Paper Mario TTYD and will try to complete the next. For some reason I also started Paper Mario (N64) a week before TTYD’s release, so may be tempted to play through chapter 6 in that as well.
Paper Mario: TTYD - currently on Chapter 3 and thus far like the original Paper Mario a bit more.
Adding some more SMT IV (3DS) and Persona 4 (NS). I’m about 45 hours into the latter after having spent time with Persona 3: Reload (PS5). Decided to stick with completing P4 for now as P3 hasn’t grabbed me yet.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (2nd November)
@NinChocolate Is OOT3D different from the N64 experience? I missed out on that growing up as a PlayStation owner. Master Quest is my next game up!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (2nd November)
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on 3DS is all I have time for this weekend. First time playing and just beat the water temple. Happy gaming!

Re: Best Super Mario Games Of All Time
Maybe it’s nostalgia, but I would place Super Mario 64 at #3.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Time For Another Side-Scrolling Zelda Game?
Love Zelda II, but I find the side scrolling segments in Echoes of Wisdom to be less exciting. Dimensions add much needed depth.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (12th October)
Carrying forward with a spooky Halloween lineup:
Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse (NS) - on the 5th chapter. The game is pretty good, but could use faster character movement. Definitely a bit scary.
Silent Hill 2 (PS5) - Fantastic recreation of the original game! Super scary, with maybe the only nitpick being more focus on combat than I recall with the original. Sometimes wondering if/when you will face monsters is more tense. Highly recommend it.

Re: Feature: That Time I Was Invited To Square HQ To Playtest Final Fantasy VI
Excellent story! Made me recall playing FFVI back in the 90’s and what a mind blowing experience it was!

Go Witcher 3! Amazing game that stays on the charts!
Re: Random: There's A Reason Link Can't Speak In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom
I like the touch of adding this, not that it has ever bothered me that Link doesn’t speak.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?
8/10 for me. I haven’t found the desire to pick up and play this one much. Beat two of the dungeons and felt like I had seen much of this before.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (28th September)
Echoes of Wisdom.
Beat Xenoblade Chronicles 2 after what felt like a year. Great game, but prefer the pacing of the first entry.
Re: Nintendo Patents Filed After Palworld's Release Suggest Lawsuit Prep Started Months Ago
@anoyonmus Correct, I see this as highlighting additional inventions contained in the first patent.

Beat Metroid Samus Returns (3DS) at 100% last weekend. Excellent Metroid game.

Re: Random: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Overtakes NES Lifetime Sales
Great sales numbers for Mario Kart. Population has grown a few billion since the NES days, so not sure what to take from this comparison.

Beat SMT IV (3DS) last weekend - amazing game! Fire Emblem Engage (Chapter 25) and Metroid Samus Returns (3DS) this weekend. Happy gaming!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd June)
Paper Mario (Chapter 6, N64), Fire Emblem Engage (Chapter 21), and SMT IV (3DS). The last one will for sure be completed this weekend and then maybe add SMT V: Vengeance. Happy gaming!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th June)
SMT IV (3DS) AND SMT V Vengeance (NS)! Great weekend! Will add in some Fire Emblem Engage (currently on Chapter 20). Happy gaming!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th June)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st June)
(25th May)
@Denoloco Either of the Fatal Frame games are worth checking out.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th May)
Just beat Super Mario Land and also moments away from the end of Rain Code (it does get better story wise despite the constant loading).
Playing Paper Mario TTYD (NS) and SMT IV (3DS) this weekend. Possibly adding Unicorn Overlord (NS) if the urge arises. Should be fun!
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door For Switch?
Preordered and excited to play it for the first time
