@dew12333 Thanks! It really is how I feel about the current situation with pretty much every piece of media. Movies, songs and games of course just don't feel as original or good as they did, say, 10 years ago. With Nintendo being the only singular great one being left.. for now. But who knows? Sony and Microsoft might bounce back from all this
And yet they keep making games on their own pace, don't include ludicrous ads into the starting screens of their games and (most of the time) ask for fair prices of their games. Then there's the consistent quality of said games too.
Sure, they may not be perfect and their anti-fan attitude has got to stop, but compared to the likes of modern Sony and Microsoft.. they really are the best and most trustworthy.
Also, what hardware continues to fail?? I literally do not understand. If you're talking about the Joy Cons, well.. ***** happens to everyone everyday. In seven years and with three Switch consoles I have NOT seen a single JC fail so far. Not even a drift. Makes me believe people blow this up just to make Nintendo seem bad.
Meanwhile, I've lost two Playstation controllers and THREE xbox controllers in the last five years; and I'm considered one of the most careful people in my group.. So if you have any complains about ''failing'' hardware, please take it to the Playstation or Xbox site, where such criticism is deserved. Not here. I apologize if I come off as a bit of a fanboy, but I won't be tolerating unneccesary slander. You're of course welcome to your own opinion - and Nintendo does need to ease up a bit on their fans a bit - but just spouting nonsense about ''faulty'' hardware is just plain ridiculous. If you disagree, well.. I guess everyone has their ''opinions'' these days.
None of these matter to me personally. I would just like FUN games. Meaning:
Not too long, not too short;
NO Microtransactions
NO crowded ad filled home page with ''dlc available now''
Just a fun story, gameplay and great soundtrack.
Nintendo is literally the only modern company I still have respect for, and I do mean ALOT of respect. Sony, Microsoft, Sega, Ubisoft, Disney.. and pretty much 90 procent of all these big wig companies have lost sight of who they were when they started. I pray this does not happen to Nintendo too.
@RareFan Haha at least Sonic still has his own games.. add to that the fact that he appears in other games (and comics too) makes him FAR more relevant than your precious Banjo Kazooie who haven't been seen since Smash Bros Ultimate (Now almost five years ago..) So who's the unrelevant one now, huh? Lmfao
Wait why? They offered a pretty cool story DLC for FREE with Sonic Frontiers.. but here they expect people to spend basically 22 euro's/dollars on skins.. here in Monkey Ball? Do they WANT non-Sonic games to fail?
@HaroGenkide No.. no it is not haha. Nintendo has their own share of problems of course - their hostile attitude to their own fanbase for exemple - but compared to Sony or Microsoft, they are doing far, far better.
Well whatever, it's still selling extremely well AND it's in the top 3 still. Glad to hear it's selling well; here's hoping it will outsell the final entry in the False Trilogy (Origami King).
Love to see it. Nintendo has been the only decent gaming company for.. oh.. let's just the last five years? Both Microsoft and Sony have become far too complacent and arrogant with their consoles.. for no reason whatsoever. Glad I left them behind awhile ago (Though I still enjoy their older and far superior older titles)
Interesting, I visited GAME during my trip to Scotland last week.. Really nice store with alot of merchandise. Far more than my local game store (Game Mania).
Went in trying not to buy anything - went out with Persona 3 Reload for Xbox and 3 Animal Crossing plushies lmao
Fantastic to hear!! Here's hoping more people will buy this. It's a must have for EVERY Switch owner and we NEED to get Paper Mario to its original roots.
We do NOT want to have another entry into the false trilogy (2012 - 2020), now do we?
@cyrus_zuo Very true. More often than not will a new entry in a well known franchise fail if it's too different (Paper Mario Sticker Star for exemple, or Mass Effect Andromeda)
There are some parts I don't really like compared to the GC version.. But overal it's been amazing! Such a relief to finally play Paper Mario again after it's long hiatus.. even if it IS a remake.
And no, the ''false trilogy'' (Sticker Star, Color Splash, Origami King) don't count.
Don't really care for the FPS.. But I still seriously do NOT like the ''glossy'' look, as the review named it. It reminds me far too much of the ''dark age of paper mario'' and I really wish they just kept the original art style completely intact.
I would've preferred a direct port for sure, but i'm guessing that wasn't possible. Oh well.
Bah, Nintendo doesn't truly care about this franchise anymore, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a new game. I mean, ffs, they haven't even put DK64 and/or Diddy Kong Racing on the N64 app..
Still busy with Trails into Reverie - and about to start Hogwarts Legacy (Slytherin Route). I already own it on PS4 and Series X, but the game is so much fun I needed to get it a third time haha.
Nintendo of AMERICA takes their people for granted. How many times do I have to say this? I pre-ordered it in my own country (Via Nintendo of Europe), and I've had no such thing happening.
Pretty sure pre-orders aren't getting cancelled in Japan either.
@JohnnyMind Yeah, I'm slightly worried about the extra content. I'm sure the original content will still be fine, but I heard rumors that Shadow's levels are made with the same garbage engine that has plagued this franchise since Forces.. so that means more static and choppy gameplay.. I really hope this rumor is false though
Ironically, you're the one being ''edgy'' right now.. Shadow is well loved by the fans still - and the two movies are very much appreciated and loved too. Although I kinda agree with you too with SEGA pretty much abandoning Shadow's character after his solo game. He's just a background character now, even more so than Tails or Knuckles :/
@nintendozach While it's true that Nintendo neglects and ignores their fans a bit too much.. Other entertainment studios, like Microsoft and Sony, have done far worse. Also, it seems that this pre-order cancellation business is only in the USA, so it doesn't count for Nintendo as a whole in the rest of the world.
Nintendo is easily the best place to be right now if you want to be entertained.
Good news imo. I absolutely love the Switch' Pokémon games (except for the Let's Go games). It's extremely difficult to go back to older titles, considering they require ALOT of annoying grinding and had some rather irritating mechanics to cope with too (Z Moves for exemple, or that SOS mechanic).
I still do go back to Black and White and Platinum from time to time tho
Goodness, dramatic much? Sure, SC/VI had their problems, but they were nowhere near as bad as you make them out to be lmao. I've put over 150 hours in both games and not ONCE did I have a hard crash. Maybe I just got lucky? Either way, I had more fun with this than any other mainline Pokémon game since Black and White 1.
@Thomystic Yeah, I agree. But I also think there will be a breaking point where people will just truly have enough of ads - and just go back to games, movies or other older pieces of media that don't have them.. therefore breaking the modern games and movies to a point where they don't bring in enough money anymore.. perhaps then the big CEO's will finally realize that ads are just obnoxious... or so I hope.
On an unrelated note, I love your profile picture. Professor Waddle Dee is a fun little side character in Forgotten Land haha
Haha sure, they can try.. But I highly doubt it'll be succesfull. Anyone remember the AC Mirage disaster a few months ago? Ubisoft claiming ''it was just a mistake''?
Oh well, with a bit of luck it will create so much backlash that EA will go bankrupt. Most likely won't happen - but one can dream.
Nice to see they won't abandon the Switch just yet. Here's hoping they'll announce something Donkey Kong based in the next direct! (DK64 and/or Diddy Kong Racing to NSO, DKC Returns remaster, brand new game.. Anything would be fine!)
Tears of the Kingdom felt more like Breath of the Wild 2.0 indeed... However, it is far superior to the first game because it actually feels alive now. More things to do, better dungeons, better soundtrack.. It actually feels like a Zelda game now, unlike Breath of the Wild.
Breath of the Wild felt like a tech demo that wasn't quite finished yet. Boring, annoying, empty and quite frankly the worst mainline Zelda since Phantom Hourglass. I have no idea why so many people rate it so high. Oh well, guess standards are just low these days, huh?
Well, why am I not surprised? Activision just loves destroying creativity and interesting stuff.. Instead, make way for the 10000th Call of Duty.. A damn shame. Oh well, should've expected this from the worst publisher of all time.
I do, and so do thousands of others. Being a bit cocky and arrogant there, aren't ya? I know it's ''cool'' to hate on Scarlet and Violet, but I thought people left this childish behaviour behind in 2023.. Guess not.
Still my favourite Pokémon games to date, finally beating out Black and White too.
Definitely getting both. LM2 is still the only Luigi's Mansion game that I actually enjoyed back in the day, so I can't wait to play it again. But man, it's kinda a bummer that TTYD Switch is worse than it's original. Bigger size, worse framerate, slightly worse style (Looks a bit too much like the newer Paper Mario games now). I'm still getting it, but my hype level has definitely dropped..
It's my birthday today, so i'll be going bowling with a couple of friends and then I plan on playing some Crash Bandicoot N-Sane on the Switch (Early gift from a friend!). I also plan on celebrating it in New Horizons. Quite a lovely day ahead of me I reckon!
@_Figo_ Yeah, no, I refuse to believe that to be true. Nintendo has ALOT of studios; surely one of them could either make a new one or remaster the original trilogy... But alas, they don't seem to care about the franchise that made them big and important to begin with, but that's not surprising: Sony and Microsoft are the same way.
At the very least, Nintendo should be able to put DK64 or Diddy Kong Racing on NSO, but they're too lazy to even do that.. Instead, we get obscure titles that nobody cares about.
Yikes, ANOTHER Kirby (Even as a remaster..)? C'mon now, we haven't had another Donkey Kong game since Tropical Freeze Funky Edition and that was six years ago now..
Yeah, it did look a bit bland too me. Oh well; Paper Mario arrives in a few weeks time anyway and I'm still quite busy with Zelda so.. No foul, I guess!
@sanderev Yeah, I've noticed that too. And if there IS something new, like Stellar Blade, it's another generic over-the-top JRPG with ''hyper realistic'' graphics.. This generation of games is easily the worst there's been. There's just not enough new games to keep everyone entertained, though open world/jrpg/remaster fans can eat their heart out :/.
This is why I stopped supporting Sony. They don't have anything interesting anymore that I actually want.
Yeah, could you just not with your constant hate on Sonic? Or should I just keep saying how Banjo Kazooie was ''mid'' at best and that Tooie is one of the worst sequels out there (Which I really do think it is)? Sure, the last ten years have been rough for the blue blur, but go back to 2000-2012 and ALOT of them are at least decent (Rush, Rush Adventure, Unleashed, Colors, Generations, the two racing games)
Interested to see if you even reply to this at all.
Love that tagline haha. As for me, since I'm still sick unfortunately, I treated myself to a Animal Crossing Switch Lite and started a third and final island - Paldea. Ironically, one of my first villagers is an actual duck (Scoot). Now to find a crocodile and a cat villager next? Haha. And maybe some more Tears of the Kingdom too. Tulin needs some more help getting into the ark!
Hmm.. Not sure if I'm a big fan of the style used here or the new remixed music. It reminds me too much of the previous three Paper Mario games which were absolutely awful. The FPS is not a problem for me, as long as it's consistent and doesn't drop
I can't wait! Finally a proper Paper Mario game again.. even if it is a remake/remaster. This had better sell well, or else the spin-off franchise truly is dead.

Re: Sonic Team On Remasters: "If There's A Title People Like, We'll Think About It"
I would LOVE to see the Rush games come back.. but I don't see how, unless the Switch successor has two duel screens, like the DS.
Still my favourite 2D Sonic's of all time.
