@Samalik Fair enough, that was probably uncalled for. Either way, I really don't want a future where all games are like this. I'm relatively fine with live service existing next to regular games - just not that they'll overtake them and every game out there becomes like that. It's a lazy business model, one I cannot and will not agree with
@Samalik Well good for you. I, for one, will never accept live service games. If Nintendo decides to start making them, I will pretty much ignore them all. Either give me a game I can play anywhere or offline - or just don't bother at all.
The fact that millions of ''gamers'' are fine with this kind of business model/games is honestly extremely worrisome to me. They can play what they want of course... but they shouldn't throw a temper tantrum when their beloved game is taken offline - forever. Meanwhile, i'll still happily be playing Mario Odyssey and Zelda Echoes of Wisdom 10-15 years from now.
@Samalik It's dependence on internet, and the gacha system. Simple as that; a game needs to be full when it's released, not updated all the time to make it a fully complete game over time.
See, Fantasy Life 2 for exemple - they delayed the game by half a year.. but by the time it actually gets here, it will be 100% complete. I have no doubt the game will have zero DLC and will most likely just be finished from the get go. Most games nowadays could learn a thing or two
@anoyonmus Same. Just.. same. I can replay Pokémon Colosseum on my Cube or Pokémon Ultra Moon on my 3DS anytime I want - with Live Service crap like the mobile games... yeah, not so much. Hate 'em and I can't believe some people actually defend that type of ''game''
That's pretty dramatic. Pretty sure at least 70 or 80% of Nintendo gamers really don't care for this lawsuit - whether Nintendo wins or not. The online community obviously does - but outside, in the real world and for casual gamers? I think not. I'm personally neither a hater or a fanboy- i'm just confused by the whole ordeal haha
@anoyonmus That might be it; In Digimon Story, you have to keep fighting to slowly ''analyze'' the creature before you can download it (in game of course) and let it join your team. For Ni no Kuni, you just have to let a girl named Esther play a harp to charm one of the creatures to come with you - but only if they have little hearts above their head.
So yeah, I think it might be completely different enough to bypass the patent. But even then, the Nexomon games should've gotten a lawsuit as well..
I have really no clue what's going on here exactly; I strongly dislike Palworld because of the gun mechanic and how confusing it is.. but enough to want it to disappear? No.
Why is Nintendo going after them and not, say, Level 5 for Ni no Kuni's Familiar catching mechanic or Bandai for the Digimon capturing mechanic? Perhaps because they use completely different methods? I dunno, lol.
@ThatGuyWho Wow, so many comments you replied to at once... not sure I've ever seen someone do that here haha. But yes, it does make me wonder why Nintendo is so agressive towards their fans. Like, protecting their IP's is one thing.. but I think I also heard them taking down fan arts/games that clearly have Nintendo mentioned in them? SEGA, on the other hand, seems perfectly fine and even happy that people make fan arts and games of their franchises (Sonic in particular).
I mean, I do agree to some extent and I do wish Nintendo would back off a bit more.. But I still think Sony cares far less about their fans than Nintendo does.
Microsoft I still can't get a reading on. They're a weird bunch
@RobTheIII So what? Let him buy it if he wants. Who cares what some people online think? I have to say I respect Anti Matter for just buying it without caring what other people think. There's too much judging online anyway as it is
Wait, what now? What framerate issues? I just played for over an hour and I barely noticed anything.. Damn people are - once again - blowing this out of proportion.. Makes me wonder if they have nothing better to do with their time.
And this is precisely why I'm putting my faith in Nintendo and Nintendo only from 2025 forward... and very sometimes Sony, but not a whole lot. Microsoft's Xbox is dead in the water.
@ChakraStomps Yeah probably. But that's also why the newer Zelda's just don't appeal to everyone - unlike the older ones. Damn shame, but it happens. The original games are fun little adventures - BotW and TotK are just generic open world games that use the Zelda title - and because of its title, it still sells millions... somehow. There's nothing the newer Zelda's do that older open world games like Skyrim or even Witcher 3 have done before - and (much) better too.
@ChakraStomps No, he's right though; They've been using this ''big open world with lots of menus'' style a little too much now; I, too, would love to see the franchise (especially the 3D ones), return to a more linear structure with a better memorable story.
I still fondly remember Midna from Twilight Princess, for exemple, or the badass fight against Bongo Bongo in Ocarina of Time... Whereas I barely remember who I fought in BotW and TotK
@Samalik Yeah, true, but lately I feel like (and it's not just here either; it's everywhere), where people are just overwhelmingly negative online, about anything. It's a bit much to be honest.
@GooseLoose1 Not just here, I see that in so many topics too. Level-5 topics, Lego topics, etc you name it. It's just exhausting; people need to either not react at all or just leave a positive comment.
You don't see me going to every Splatoon or Zelda topic to hate on them, just because I don't like these franchises (anymore).
Haha yeah we'll just see about that now won't we? I'm not holding my breath for this game anymore. One or two delays, I understand.. but they've been holding this game back for far too long..
@VoidofLight Leave it to somebody like you to turn a positive, happy article into a negative one... Yikes. You must've have had a rough day. Why not log out and just be miserable on your own, hmm? Just a thought .
Whoa! Happy birthday to Nintendo! Still the best gaming company out there. They have their flaws, but at least they're not stupid (Microsoft) or super greedy (Sony).
Uh oh, it looks a bit too similar to the regular Switch we have now.. I do hope Nintendo changes it up quite a bit with the outward design - and the name - otherwise we'll be going into another Wii U era. Please no.
If Nintendo pulls this off, their next console could be the most succesfull one of all time - especially with Sony being greedy little pigs and taking advantage of their splurgy fans.
That said, Nintendo's attitude is... quirky, to say the least, so they might not act on this wonderful oppertunity at all.
@Dr_Lugae They only counted the sales for that in the UK, and the only reason it doesn't sell well over there is because these bozos don't know anything else other than GTA or Fifa... If it isn't either one of these two games, they simply don't care.
Astro Bot will most likely remain the best selling game for awhile in the rest of the world.. until Zelda arrives, of course.
Fantastic. Astro Bot deserves to stay in the spotlight for a good while; It's certaintly better than ANYTHING else on the list too (Aside from Mario Wonder)
@abbyhitter Probably; but I couldn't really figure it out with the guides on here (or GameFaqs) for that matter either, I went to all sides of Hyrule in the game and I just couldn't figure it out.
So unless they actually have that companion fairy tell you where to go next if you need it - I don't think I'll bother with this one... yet.
Looks decent enough. I'm not picking it up though - I'd most likely get confused as to where to go next. I remember not getting that far in Link's Awakening either.
@VoidofLight The battle system IS alot better in 2, I'll admit: Everything else, however, is a massive let down. You know what - I think you SHOULD give 2 a try. Even though I strongly dislike it, I think you might actually like it.. and I don't think it's expensive nowadays either, so I don't think you can go wrong
@VoidofLight Oooof, really? Yeah, uhm... not sure how to respond to that to be honest. The first game is by no means perfect - battle system is kinda awkward, I agree - but the rest of the game is so well done and so well put together (Especially compared to the second) that I can't comprehend when somebody says the sequel is better haha
I can absolutely see this becoming either one of the biggest movies of all time (due to kiddos still being addicted to Minecraft), or one of the biggest flops, considering it doesn't quite land with older gamers anymore. I don't think there will be an in between. It's one extreme or the other.
@MojoMonkey The first one is excellent and you definitely should! The second one is irredeemable trash and should be skipped, no matter what. Horrible JRPG and my most disliked one of all time
I'm really hoping Fantasy Life releases either late this year (November/December) or very early next year (January/February). If it's any later, I might just forget about the game all together. Delaying it once is understandable, maybe twice.. but they've done this three to four times now. Enough is enough.

Europe is the only correct answer here. Both the Japanese and US one don't even tell you what the game is all about lmfao
