Re: Pokémon Unite Ending Service In Select European Markets Next Year

Maubari

@Samalik Fair enough, that was probably uncalled for. Either way, I really don't want a future where all games are like this. I'm relatively fine with live service existing next to regular games - just not that they'll overtake them and every game out there becomes like that. It's a lazy business model, one I cannot and will not agree with

Re: Pokémon Unite Ending Service In Select European Markets Next Year

Maubari

@Samalik Well good for you. I, for one, will never accept live service games. If Nintendo decides to start making them, I will pretty much ignore them all. Either give me a game I can play anywhere or offline - or just don't bother at all.

The fact that millions of ''gamers'' are fine with this kind of business model/games is honestly extremely worrisome to me. They can play what they want of course... but they shouldn't throw a temper tantrum when their beloved game is taken offline - forever. Meanwhile, i'll still happily be playing Mario Odyssey and Zelda Echoes of Wisdom 10-15 years from now.

Re: Pokémon Unite Ending Service In Select European Markets Next Year

@Samalik It's dependence on internet, and the gacha system. Simple as that; a game needs to be full when it's released, not updated all the time to make it a fully complete game over time.

See, Fantasy Life 2 for exemple - they delayed the game by half a year.. but by the time it actually gets here, it will be 100% complete. I have no doubt the game will have zero DLC and will most likely just be finished from the get go. Most games nowadays could learn a thing or two

Re: Nintendo Patents Filed After Palworld's Release Suggest Lawsuit Prep Started Months Ago

Maubari

@anoyonmus That might be it; In Digimon Story, you have to keep fighting to slowly ''analyze'' the creature before you can download it (in game of course) and let it join your team.
For Ni no Kuni, you just have to let a girl named Esther play a harp to charm one of the creatures to come with you - but only if they have little hearts above their head.

So yeah, I think it might be completely different enough to bypass the patent.
But even then, the Nexomon games should've gotten a lawsuit as well..

Re: Nintendo Patents Filed After Palworld's Release Suggest Lawsuit Prep Started Months Ago

Maubari

I have really no clue what's going on here exactly; I strongly dislike Palworld because of the gun mechanic and how confusing it is.. but enough to want it to disappear? No.

Why is Nintendo going after them and not, say, Level 5 for Ni no Kuni's Familiar catching mechanic or Bandai for the Digimon capturing mechanic? Perhaps because they use completely different methods? I dunno, lol.

Re: Japanese Charts: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Surpasses 6 Million Units Sold

Maubari

@ThatGuyWho Wow, so many comments you replied to at once... not sure I've ever seen someone do that here haha.
But yes, it does make me wonder why Nintendo is so agressive towards their fans. Like, protecting their IP's is one thing.. but I think I also heard them taking down fan arts/games that clearly have Nintendo mentioned in them? SEGA, on the other hand, seems perfectly fine and even happy that people make fan arts and games of their franchises (Sonic in particular).

Re: The First Review For The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Is In

Maubari

@ChakraStomps Yeah probably. But that's also why the newer Zelda's just don't appeal to everyone - unlike the older ones. Damn shame, but it happens. The original games are fun little adventures - BotW and TotK are just generic open world games that use the Zelda title - and because of its title, it still sells millions... somehow. There's nothing the newer Zelda's do that older open world games like Skyrim or even Witcher 3 have done before - and (much) better too.

Re: The First Review For The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Is In

Maubari

@ChakraStomps No, he's right though; They've been using this ''big open world with lots of menus'' style a little too much now; I, too, would love to see the franchise (especially the 3D ones), return to a more linear structure with a better memorable story.

I still fondly remember Midna from Twilight Princess, for exemple, or the badass fight against Bongo Bongo in Ocarina of Time... Whereas I barely remember who I fought in BotW and TotK

Re: Maria & Melphiles Feature In New Sonic X Shadow Generations Trailer

Maubari

@GooseLoose1 Not just here, I see that in so many topics too. Level-5 topics, Lego topics, etc you name it.
It's just exhausting; people need to either not react at all or just leave a positive comment.

You don't see me going to every Splatoon or Zelda topic to hate on them, just because I don't like these franchises (anymore).

Re: Anniversary: Nintendo Is 135 Years Old Today

Maubari

@VoidofLight Leave it to somebody like you to turn a positive, happy article into a negative one... Yikes. You must've have had a rough day. Why not log out and just be miserable on your own, hmm? Just a thought .

Re: UK Charts: Astro Bot Soars Above The Competition In A Quiet Week For Switch

Maubari

@Dr_Lugae They only counted the sales for that in the UK, and the only reason it doesn't sell well over there is because these bozos don't know anything else other than GTA or Fifa... If it isn't either one of these two games, they simply don't care.

Astro Bot will most likely remain the best selling game for awhile in the rest of the world.. until Zelda arrives, of course.

Re: Here's Another Look At The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom World Map

Maubari

@abbyhitter Probably; but I couldn't really figure it out with the guides on here (or GameFaqs) for that matter either, I went to all sides of Hyrule in the game and I just couldn't figure it out.

So unless they actually have that companion fairy tell you where to go next if you need it - I don't think I'll bother with this one... yet.
