What's wild here is that in fiscal years 2021-2024, Nintendo-published games alone sold around 100 million units each year. That's insane.

@FishyS I got Mario Wonder last week and it's an impeccably made game. I'm not usually one to go for 100% completion in games, but damn it, I've gotten all the wonder seeds and just want to keep playing.

I love the Mario & Luigi series, but so much stuff I've read or heard about Brothership since reviews hit has put me right off.

Now we know that a 3DS can run continuously for 7 months, though. So this player also contributed to science in a way.

I haven't had a Switch for a few years, but I got a Switch OLED as an early birthday present and I'm catching up on Nintendo games I've missed. I'm bouncing between Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Mario vs. Donkey Kong and Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

The adoration for Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 baffles me and always will.

Oh sh*t, this actually came out? I got bored of Jools' bi-annual email "updates" sent out to backers - showing a screenshot of the title screen or some such nonsense - around three years ago. I'm back on the Switch train now (having got a Switch OLED as an early birthday present) so maybe in between catching up on all the Nintendo games I've missed from over the past few years, I'll check my emails for the Hatch Tales code.

I didn't have issues with downloads not starting, but is the Switch supposed to download games so bloody slowly? With a wired connection, I get 900-920mbps down on PC. Switch with a wired connection I'm not even getting 10% that speed.

GameSpot's criticism of Shadow's campaign being geared towards veteran fans seems... odd? The game's called Sonic Generations and is a celebration of/pulling from past Sonic games. Of course it's geared towards veteran fans.

I like the idea of this being somebody's first The Legend of Zelda game; they play as Zelda, they have a good time... then they go back to older games or play the next one and they're given control of Link and are like, "who's this p***k?!".

The Sonic Central presentation turned out to be a whole load of nothing then. It was disappointing even by Sonic standards.

The amount of people everywhere confusing patent infringement with copyright is alarming.

But it seems to me that this lawsuit goes deeper than the surface level "Palworld looks just like Pokémon" story that has been at the forefront of pretty much all Palworld coverage since the game was announced. If that was Nintendo's case, then surely

1. It would've gone after every creature collecting game under the sun. Palworld, Cassette Beasts, Nexomon, Coromon, TemTem, etc.
2. It wouldn't have taken this long for Nintendo to pursue legal action against PocketPair.

Patent infringement, to me anyway, implies that there's something else going on. Maybe it's the actual stealing and modification of Pokémon in-game assets? Maybe it goes even deeper; maybe there's code that was lifted from Pokémon games?

Again, I'm no game developer and I'm no lawyer, but I don't believe that Nintendo would've taken this long to file a lawsuit against PocketPair for the kind of surface level stuff that people are assuming.

I feel like if you wanted to play Braid, on Steam anyway, you would just... buy Braid? I never understood why this game was getting an anniversary edition in the first place. The original is still perfectly playable and still gorgeous to look at. Why would I buy the Anniversary Edition over the original, which is cheaper and still fine?

@Ogbert the entire development cycle of this game really has been a rollercoaster ride of mismanagement and scumbaggery, hasn't it? It might seem harsh to say, considering the current situation regarding layoffs in the games industry, but Atooi - and most of all, "Jools" - don't deserve to see any success from this game. May it crash and burn.
