Re: Poll: How Are Your Download Speeds On Switch 2?

Markatron84

It's definitely faster than Switch 1 but nowhere close to hitting the download speeds I should be getting.

On Steam, with a wired connection, I get 850-920mbps (depending on what else I've got going on), whereas with Switch 2 it caps out at around 150mbps (wired). Switch 1 (wired) I was lucky to get over 100mbps though, so it's an improvement.

The only saving grace is that Switch 2 games are never going to reach the 150GB+ ridicu-sizes

@Yosher

I saw a video that shows all of the characters react to blue shells. Every character looked on in shock or surprise... while the NPC drivers just had a blank, boring stare.

Blank boring stares are no good. Let the NPC characters utilise the Luigi Death Stare™ and those blue shells will turn right around 😁

@Dev-N the way Nintendo has gone all out with the ridiculous characters in MKW, I'd honestly be surprised if we don't get characters like E. Gadd and Florian. I for one would main the f**k out of Toadsworth if Nintendo puts him in there.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st February)

Markatron84

I started The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom last weekend and - my ongoing Helldivers 2 obsession aside - I've played nothing but that all week.

It's been a long time since I played Breath of the Wild and I'd forgotten how much I adore this new direction for the series, plus the new abilities greatly expand the scope for creative puzzle solving.

Re: Team17 Group Is Rebranding, But The Iconic Name Isn't Disappearing

Markatron84

@Alpha008 it really doesn't. They'll just be trading as and listed on stock exchanges as Everplay. You'll still see Team17 on anything they publish or develop.

If you're concerned about what this means for the iconic 'Team17' name, then worry not. Everplay states that the branding for the developer, video games label, and publisher will remain, allowing it to continue operating as it does today.

Re: Celeste Dev Makes "Difficult Decision" To Cancel New Game Earthblade

Markatron84

This is a real shame, but it's better to cancel the game than to carry on without the passion that was so evident in Celeste. Good luck to Maddy and the rest in whatever's next for them.

@AmplifyMJ see, I'm the opposite. I've played through Celeste twice and adore it. Hollow Knight, however, I've tried twice to get into and just can't.

I started Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury last weekend, due to a hankering for level-based Mario. Since then I've done everything in 3D World except finish every level with every character, because bugger off I'm not doing that. I've also got 69 (nice) of the Cat Shines in Bowser's Fury. I'd never played it before and it's pretty damn good; I'll definitely be going for all 100 shines! I'd like the next mainline Mario game to really flesh out the idea of open world Mario.

Also still playing New Pokémon Snap, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and Helldivers 2.
