I'm hoping that WindWaker and Twilight Princess get complete graphical rebuilds on the Switch 2 with DLSS etc, make them the best looking Zelda games ever made. They can fill the gap to the next new 3D Zelda.

@LadyCharlie I agree about the licenced music, but I'm fine with Chris Pratt coming back!

I love Giant Land (world 4 of Super Mario Bros 3) so having giant Goombas and Cheep-Cheeps would be epic!

I agree with the other posters who mentioned this - more story is essential.

I'd also like announcements of movies of Luigi's Mansion and Donkey Kong!!!

I'm assuming at all times a 3D Mario game is at some stage of development, even if that is a prolonged concept stage.

So, I don't think it's an either/or decision between 2D and 3D Mario, so if they think they have enough ideas for Wonder 2 then fantastic, if not get a few developers in a room and through some ideas around for a new 2D concept.

Hopefully we'll now see regular 2D and 3D mario games.

I think the question "How many birthdays will the Switch have before Nintendo stops supporting it?" is open to interpretation, does it mean carry on releasing first party games or continue with an open eshop, firmware updates etc?

Thenlast 1st party game might be only a couple of years away, but I can see the eshop still being open in 2030.

@dartmonkey Have you thought about doing a best movie tie in switch game list? With Alien Isolation, the Jurassic Park collection, Ghostbusters and more, it could be quite a good list!

If this is correct it will be interesting to see what the Christmas major title will be, if this is a delay there might not be one?

It's a fine line, but I think it would be a mistake to go into the development just thinking about a single film, it should be a trilogy!

If streaming was viable I think we'd see the Game Pass app on TVs next to Netflix and Prime. I think it will he one day, but they need to sort put broadband speeds in the US and latency.

@dartmonkey fair enough. I think they remade every graphical asset for Metroid Prime...didn't they?

@dartmonkey @Yoshif3 I don't understand why Links Awakening is on the list but Metroid Prime isn't, aren't they essentially the same, but the difference is just far more noticeable with Zelda than it is with Metroid Prime?

3rd party support will be key here..what if it can run COD and it looks 95% as good as it does on PS5 thanks to DLSS trickery? Could hardcore gamers be attracted?

@Toastmaster I hope they are working on Metroid Prime 5 and 4 has been done for a while!

@_Figo_ Not sure I agree on that, a change in spec wouldn't need to change the story or game play mechanics and if the Switch 2 is coming this year, i'm sure the specs would have been locked down a while ago. If a 3D Mario game is a launch title, that has been in development for 4+ years so they must have had some idea of the specs for quite a while.

@JohnnyC @Magician I think it will just be on the NG Switch, I don't think it will be backwards compatible.

As they seem to have put a really good team of people together to create it, is that development is pretty much done and some people are working on Metroid Prime 5, even if it's just a small team doing pre-production by defining the story and game play changes for MP4...if not it seems a bit of a waste with the recruitment they have done.

What are these games? Are they part of the Atari "remaster" series or are they brand new games?

There was someone a few years ago in the comments on this site saying how we didn't understand NFTs and how we'd be able to use them to buy and sell stuff in games and transfer between games and all this wild stuff...I wish I could remember their username!

@PedroMatos I agree, Nintendo have a concept and a form factor that could span a number of generations. When they have a meeting in 2030 about the NEXT console, being able to call it Switch 3 will make things easier...

Commentators said a major reason the Switch 2 wasn't announced in 2023 was that Nintendo didn't want to impact holiday sales volumes. I think the same thing applies in 2024 - The Switch 2 is announced and released in 2024 or in 2025, I don't think the announcement and release will cross the 2024 holiday period.

I've been saying this for ages now, I think WW and TP should get the Metroid Prime Remaster treatment but for Switch 2, they could help fill out the Zelda releases until the next new 3D Zelda which isn’t going to happen before 2028...

I think they should make Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio a double game set in the same city. Combine the budgetsband build a city suitable for both games. Maybe they could put another game in there too?

@Zuljaras it's one of the few games I have double dipped on. I have it digitally and i'm waiting for the steelbook edition from Limited Run Games.

I'm playing Sniper Elite V2 and Steamworld Build at the moment, really enjoying both!

@Duncanballs @Pete_Stooge It would be a tough choice! Game Pass looks epic and there are loads of XBOX games I'd love to play (Starfield, Gears of War, Halo etc) but Sony has some amazing exclusives too in Last of Us, Spiderman, Horizon etc.

We need a HDTV Light Gun so we can bring back all the classic SEGA and Nintendo games...

The Switch 2 will be the next console I buy, but GTA6 might finally be the game that makes me buy an XBOX or Playstation...not sure which though, I have never owned either.

I'll be playing Steamworld Build, I can't wait!!

I've watched the first seven minutes and this is nowhere near as bad as I expected. If his is the worst of the trilogy then it's good enough for. I've never played these games before, I can't wait!!

I think they should take elements from all the games and come up with a new story. I'd like to see a trilogy rather than a stand alone film.

I wonder if they will release the film and next 3D game around the same time to push the marketing?

@JimNorman You should write a feature ranking the best Mario Kart circuits NOT in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Given the quality of 2D games recently and with Prince of Persia still to come, I'd love to see a 2D game.

They could also do a Hades style Isometric rougelike game....as well as a new mainline game!!

I think too big a deal has been made out of this, if they have a few bad years coinciding with another great game coming along and COD would be done.

Imagine what they could do if they recruited some people who knew how to develop games and just said he's enough money for a dozen development teams, pick any Disney IP you like, go and make games...I can think of half a dozen things I'd love to see.

Disney could have an insanely good gaming business with all the IP they own without buying anyone else. With a mix of 1 x AAA, smaller titles, some 2D games, kids games, remasters of classics and racing/sports games they could release half a dozen games every year and sell tens of millions.

I have never played a Hitman game, if the reviews are good, I'll give this one a go!

I think there's a reasonable chance we'll still be getting dance games and EA FC up to 2030.

@Smug43 @JONOFTHEJONS At this point I'm hoping Metroid Prime 4 is a Switch 2 title. Give us Metroid Prime 2 and 3 next year on the Switch and then give MP4 with DLSS powered 4K, something really incredible looking.
