@Lizuka I think the branding and grouping should be considered. A New Super Mario Bros. collection which has three games to include, 1 + 2 from the DS/3DS and the Wii game, I think this works well based on Nintendo's history.

A 3D All Stars 2 collection only has two new game options when looking at the previous collection (3D Land + Galaxy 2).

I don't think NSO games would be included, so I don't think Mario 64 or Sunshine would be included, even though I would love a Sunshine remaster (like Metroid Prime) but with improved controls, bug fixes and new contents.

Maybe we see a Galaxy collection with both games remastered, maybe with some new content? Nintendo could justify that as the first collection was a limited release, but what happens to 3D Land? maybe that's a 45th Anniversary item!!

@roboshort That would be a good release, but I'm not sure how likely it is as all those games are on NSO, would releasing them as a compilation take away from NSO? Maybe

@Olliemar28 Thanks! It will be interesting to see what happens this time, it's not impossible that it's a Mario only direct? it could include...
1. Mario 40? (Mario 35 was excellent and should never have been a time limited release)
2. A "New" Super Mario Bros. collection?
3. A Mario Galaxy double pack?
4. Maybe even a trailer for a new 3D Mario releasing in 2026?
5. New Mario Kart World content?

What happened with the Mario 35th Direct? Was that an entire direct just on Mario or was it a section of a bigger direct, I can't remember.

Great list, but it's missing one epic game which has a good chance...Gears of War!!!

I've been playing a great 2D platformer called Splasher and I only have a few levels left, I highly recommend it. It cost me less than £2 on sale in the eshop!

I have no interest in this game, but I hope it does well as I'd really like EA to bring their NHL game over to the Switch!

There wasn't a single game that I thought I would definitely buy, disappointing for me, but for fans of certain genres I assume it was great!

Hopefully we'll get Gears of War!!!!!!!

@EvenStephen7 from one perspective it's good, it means there will be a full direct in a month or so.

@Synecdoche that changes my opinion a bit, my son isn't old enough for that. Such a shame, I wonder if that adds to to the game? A 2 player co op where children can't play it seems to be limiting sales.

@Orpheus79V You are 100% correct. I watch a guy called John Campea on Youtube who knows the business really well and he was saying exactly the same thing.

This game is excellent, I'm having a lot of fun with it. I scored it an 8 as I do feel like I'm grinding a little to unlock tracks etc, but it is lots of fun. In hindsight I should have scored it a 9 as I didn't take into account value, this game is a bargain for what you get.

I'm in a queue at my local Smyths Toys in the UK (midnight launch) and there is a really big queue to pick up pre orders.

I'm not getting Cyberpunk day one, but for me that's a must buy, I can't wait to play that.

This is perfect!! I've had a copy of No Mans Sky for a while, but haven't played it yet, so this and Mario Kart World can be the first games I play!

the Gears of War series is what I really want to see on Switch 2. Halo and Forza would be great, but Gears would be my first pick.

I really want an NHL he.on switch, the golf would be cool too.

I didn't own one, but the WiiU had an insane launch line up, surely that has to be the best?

The Switch 2 looks great too, Cyberpunk and Fast Fusion will be my first 3rd party titles.

This doesn't make sense, 3rd parties getting dev kits in June to prepare games for release in October? I bet any major 3rd party game releasing this year is already being worked on via a dev kit, the timeline doesn't add up.

Thinking a bit further ahead. Nintendo have developed a great concept in the Switch and unless the gaming landscape shifts massively, we should get the Switch 3 sometime after 2030. If that turns out to be right, it will be interesting to see if the Switch 3 is backwards compatible with Switch 1 AND 2...

I hope they add more locations. They had one in Manchester (UK) last time, it was really good.

@DwaynesGames I was thinking the same. There are enough large exhibition spaces around the world that it could tour for a couple of years and do very well.

I wonder if Super Rare Games will do a physical release.

No one expected the Switch to be able to support Skyrim, whereas every game on that list is kinda expected on Switch 2, I think the only possibility is GTA6 - that would be a WOW moment.

I'd be disappointed if every game in the Poll didn't end up on Switch 2 at some point.

I played Alien Isolation for first time last year, I thought it was superb and a great port to the Switch. I might get this!

I've watched it, my expectations were really low, I didn't think it was that bad, but it's not good. I have never played the game.

Compared to other 2024 movies, I thought it was way better than Argyle (that must be the worst film of the year) and Madame Webb but not as good as The Beekeeper (Jason Statham).

@Magician @MrGawain I don't think WB own Lego gaming, they just have a contract with Lego for certain IP. Lego Horizon Adventures was developed and published by Sony.

I recently bought the pikmin 1 + 2 double pack, I'm 2/3rds through my first attempt at Pikmin 1, hopefully I'll finish it this weekend!

@dartmonkey Thinking about it further, if you could get people to to rank pick their choices and maybe even pick their least anticipated game, you could turn the results into a follow up article, turn it into a regular monthly or quarterly feature.

@dartmonkey That's great, thanks! It would be great if you could also look into colour coding the picks, even just 2 would be interesting...Is Echoes of Wisdom's everyone's first choice or is Metroid Prime? I realise that's a bigger UI change.

@Yousef- @Twilite9 @dartmonkey I think it would be great if they allowed you to pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd and then the bar graph was coloured coded so you could see how many (or %) people picked each title 1st, 2nd and 3rd in a stacked bar graph...

Based on the comments so far, I think i might be the only one who DOESN'T want Zelda WW and TP...I want them on Switch 2, I want them to remaster them like they remastered Metroid Prime only 10x better and optimised for the new hardware...

For this direct, I want Metroid Prime 2 and 3, something F-ZERO related and Luigi's Mansion 1 HD being announced...

My two predictions....

1. Windwaker and Twilight Princess will get "4K DLSS" remasters, one will be year 1 and the second year 3.

2. Metroid Prime 4 will be a launch title and Nintendo will keep the team together to deliver Metroid Prime 5 around 2029, with a movie coming around then too.

@RupeeClock Thanks for posting, I was going to order the standard edition from LRG along with the Lara Croft double pack, but I like the look of that Steelbook with the UK release, I might order that instead!!

What are the chances this includes each game in full as well as the challenges?

@KingBurger I think Nintendo need to hold some stuff back. Twilight Princess or Windwaker remastered (Metroid Prime style) into DLSS 4K HD would be epic, I'd make one of them a launch title on Switch 2 and release the second 18-24 months later.

@Pillowpants I don't think the Switch needs a final big 1st party release - make Metroid Prime 4 a Switch 2 exclusive launch title!!

I hope you're right about Metroid Prime 2 and 3, but I think you might be wrong, if the year is a bit light on releases I think they will spread them out.

@LG555 @JR150 If MP4 was exclusive to the Switch 2 it would probably be a better game, the developers wouldn't be restricted by the Switch hardware
