@MJF I think we could reasonably expect Elden Ring to be honest. RDR2... Basically anything that runs on PS4.
If you look at the quality of ports we've got on the Switch, even with its complete lack of power, a step up to the "previous gen" makes perfect sense.
I think the "miracle ports" on Switch 2 will be PS5 games getting ported, PS4 ports should be the standard.

@nhSnork Tainted Jacob was such an unfun character. Tainted Lost was worse but not by much

I put 700 hours into the Binding of Isaac this year.

Next closest was Darkest Dungeon with 60 hours.

@larryisaman 100% agree. All these complaints that it isn't duel screen or innovative or made of holographic jello are bizarre to me. Sometimes it's nice to have an upgrade to an almost-perfect console without reinventing the wheel as you said

@Lightsiyd making the higher boss cells easier than the previous ones is an.... interesting balance idea, to say the least. 5 mutations makes you borderline invulnerable.

@Bikadovlt there's only 4 (or 5?) paid DLCs out of probably 20 or so major updates so not sure where you're getting that from

Tears by a huge margin. BotW is legitimately a 6/10 IMO. The open world is nice and almost completely empty, I felt almost no compulsion to actually explore the world. TotK, on the other hand, had so many cool things to find and discover, it kept me engaged for much much longer.

No point in more remakes since Dolphin does a better job of that than the Switch itself does. Honestly, probably just going to focus on PC gaming this year if the Switch 2 isn't coming. The Switch was awesome but it's really time for something new.

@Magician they have, since the last update. My old save was stuck in a permanent crash loop but is now playable again

I really couldn't get too into Quake. The combination of very unsatisfactory weapons and overly spongy enemies made it kind of a chore

I'll wait on the reviews and make sure it's not a broken mess, then hell yeah I will. I never even played Undead Nightmare

Honestly in the running for one of my favorite games of all time. The quality of the updates and DLC only elevates it. Still haven't beaten 5BC but some day.

Probably not, but it wouldn't be impossible. The PS2 sales record just feels kind of immortal and unbeatable, like Wayne Gretzky's hockey stats. It'll be weird if anything ever does overtake it

@-wc- I'm with you on this. These "kid games" are just trash. The first videogame I remember playing (and beating) was Scooby Doo Night of 100 Frights, which IMO is the perfect example of how to make a kid-friendly game that doesn't suck.

I'd absolutely love to play MGS5. No other shooter feels as good control wise

@Arkham24601 the right stick works as an analog throttle. No issues using it for both Wreckfest and Trials Rising (which is extremely throttle sensitive)

I have 70 hours in and I feel like I barely started. I've been mad busy lately so I've been playing games that are more pick up and play for a bit - Trials Rising in particular. I definitely plan on going back to TOTK when I get a spare weekend

The latest update (Interceptor) completely broke the game, resulting in endless crash loops after 5 minutes of gameplay. The devs have been completely silent on the issue while still releasing updates for other consoles. Do not buy it

@SteamEngenius so tired of this overhyping of AI. I tried to get ChatGPT to make a really basic block of GDScript code and it was utter garbage. This has nothing to do with AI and everything to do with bad corporate practices

I can't think of a Zelda boss that was genuinely difficult, in any Zelda game. They're always a big set piece (not that I don't enjoy them)

The ChuChu fabric is already in the game, thus rendering any others obsolete
