I loved the hell out of this game back in the day, if this were ever ported to the Nintendo Switch, it would be a day one purchase for me.

I got to go with the North American/European box art this week.

This weekend is going to be a very PlayStation-heavy weekend, as I'm going to check out Axiom Verge 2, as well as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

On the Nintendo Switch side of things, I'm looking forward to playing the DLC portion for Cuphead. I’m also planning on finishing up story mode in Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid while I’m at it.

A Space Invaders mode?

Both covers look pretty sweet this weekend, it's a tough one, however, I think I'll give the slight edge to the North American/European box art.

Physical, as a family of four, it's just easier for us, when it comes to playing Switch games.

This weekend marks the first community day event of 2023 in Pokemon Go with Chespin getting the spotlight. A new year also means a new play-through of Super Mario World AKA my all-time favourite video game. If I have the time, I’ll continue to make my way through Monster Crown while I’m at it.

The Hylian Shield Edition for New Nintendo 2DS is a thing of beauty.

Regarding gaming on the Nintendo Switch, I thought 2022 was a pretty good year. Honestly, between the games that the wife bought as well as what I picked up, I've played eleven games that were released in 2022, as well as another fifteen that was released prior to last year.

As for 2023, it should be just as good, if not better as I'm no longer saving up for a wedding. Going into this year, there are about fifteen games that have my interest (nine games I def want, six that are maybes) and that's just from what has been announced so far (and not counting whatever games I pick up that were released prior to 2023).

Either way, there are plenty of games that are coming out, as well as those that have been released already to keep me plenty busy.

As for me, I’m currently re-playing Lego City Undercover, with my oldest son. I also have Monster Crown on tap, so maybe I’ll finally get around to starting that. Oh, and of course, there is also Devine Knockout via the PS4.

That's awesome, especially since Tinkaton is my fave Gen 9 Pokémon.

I probably won't get much gaming done this weekend, however, I'm still hoping to play Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid, as well as Redout II for a bit, since I won't need to dedicate a whole lot of time to either game.

One of my favorite games of the past year, definitely one I can see myself going back too time and time again.

I mean that's cool I guess.

I used to love Digimon back in the day, however, it's one of those things I lost interest in. Having said that, I dug the trailer for this game (even if it is originally from 2016), so I might pick this up (debating on if I'll wait for the Switch version, or just track down a PS4 copy of the game).

The European one looks bland AF.

Anyways, I voted for the Japanese box art, as it's a more fleshed out cover of the North American one.

Edit: It seems (based off of the comment section), that the North American art work might be the bland one afterall.

I've only seen a couple of episodes, however, my boys and I are liking Sonic Prime so far.

This weekend, I’m considering playing Biomutant on my PS4. Also, I’ll probably play Pokemon Go for a bit as well. There is also both Alien Storm as well as Golden Axe II, on the Sega Genesis portion of Nintendo Switch Online.

I absolutely will NOT be picking this up, as a father, I have a very strong dislike for Peppa Pig and how the show teaches kids to be disrespectful to their parents (or well dads with the way they treat Daddy Pig, not so much Mommy Pig).

I've always been big into the Pokémon franchise, since day one. I remember playing Pokémon Blue for the first time, when the anime first aired here in Canada, going to a local TCG league at a store called Pen Dragon back in the early 2000's.

Even now at 37 and having two boys, I really enjoyed getting them into the anime series. Just being able to share something that was a big part of my childhood with them has been amazing.

As far as the first half of 2023 goes, this is what I'm looking forward to getting...

I love the Golden Axe games and Alien Storm looks like an interesting enough game.

As far as Game of the Year goes for the Nintendo Switch, I would have to give it to Kirby and the Forgotten Land, as I really enjoyed it and thought it was a fun game.

I liked the demo for what it was, I'll probably get around to picking up Mario Strikers early next year.

It's not for me, however, it's something my kids would (possibly) like and seeing them happy when gaming, is what matters to me.

I might just have to pick this up... if it gets a physical release.

I started my morning off with The Pinball Arcade, which is always great for a few rounds of bite-size gaming. I’m also thinking of diving into Wonder Boy in Monster Land and giving that a play-through via the Wonder Boy Collection. Oh and of course, I’ll continue to play the new wave of courses in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with my wife and kids.

I'm super excited for Hades II, I also thought Earthblade looked good as well.
