Re: Fire Emblem Echoes Developers on How the Game Iterates on Fire Emblem Fates

Llamageton

Echoes is the first truly good Fire Emblem in exactly 10 years; the last good one being Radiant Dawn.
The DS games were merely serviceable (12 being much better than 11 at least) and really just felt like stopgap games for some reason.
Awakening was pretty decent for its time....a time when the fate of the series was unknown with Nintendo threatening the fans with potentially axing the series and refusing to release 12 in the west. So seeing Awakening release over here was a miracle. Anyway, game is so incredibly flawed in so many ways, but at least it managed to resonate with people despite that.
Fates was just....poop.
Heroes was just an extension of the "Fire Emblem All Stars" thing they wanted to do with Awakening, but at the same time it's just get another gacha based mobile game just with an FE skin. It does at least get extra points for FINALLY GIVING ME AMELIA.

I'm not sure if the problem has been solved by now, but when USB C started becoming prevalent in modern devices...like last year I believe, many cheap wires started to flood the market which weren't properly made.
The issue was, a lot of these cables couldn't regulate power input and output correctly, which can fry your device and even damage your power supply since they end up drawing TOO MUCH power.
Again, I'm not sure if most or all of these wires have been put out of circulation yet (I doubt it), which is why I'm saying to be careful.
Do a Google search for safe USB C cables if you want to be careful with your $300+ investment. There's a Google engineer whose been buying and reviewing cables to see which ones are good and which are bad. I believe someone has entered his findings into a spreadsheet online.

Well.....it's a Kemco game. Generic is kinda their thing really. Being generic is stable and allows them to continuously churn out more and more games, which gives them more and more chances to make some kind of profit. Eventually.

Re: Kimishima Outlines Nintendo's Continued Attention on VR and Portable System Ideas

Even if it's "capable" of VR, I suspect that what it can actually RENDER will be quite limited. Plus, I can only see problems with SwitchVR consider how low the pixel density of the Switch's screen is compared to what would be considered optimal. They would also need to figure out how they're going to do positional tracking for the headset and the controllers. Also weight and heat issues, etc.

That's what the Switch is Kimishima.
Now that you're doing the whole home and portable divisions fused thing, don't start fragmenting things again.
The Switch is already a portable. No matter what you say and no matter what your fans say, it's a portable that just so happens to have TV out. Some people might fall for your home console branding, but many others will see it as a portable. So then, releasing another portable that "succeeds" the 3DS (which again, is one of the things the Switch is already doing) could confuse people and nowadays you could also have people wondering why they should buy two NEW GEN portables from the same company to play all the new games.
Instead, do a handheld-only Switch Mini or Switch Lite. Give it a smaller screen (4-5 inches) at 960x540 or 1280x720 (960x540 will look fine and should help the performance of games; maybe even get it closer to how performance would be on the normal Switch's console mode; would also be cheaper), get rid of the Joycon gimmick (this is for saving costs and to make the device more compact), make it a clamshell, and use ALL the same specs as the normal Switch so people can play the same games (well maybe not all of them like ARMs and 1-2-Switch, but this "Lite" model will just be a full on portable anyway). And price it at $200.
Don't refragment the market after spending so much time and money combining your businesses together.
If you're concerned about keeping the Switch name for it, give it a swivel-hinge. Boom, Switches between handheld and tablet. There >.>
