@Anti-Matter SanDisk cards have an issue with longevity nowadays. It shouldn't be a problem with a gaming system, but other brands like Samsung are more durable and are sometimes cheaper.
Yeah.... No.
Just get a Samsung card. They're one of the best when it comes to flash memory of any kind.
Also their uSD cards are WAY cheaper than this plop while being much faster. Also, speed ratings are one thing, however a card's ability to actually reach and maintain high speeds is another.
@IceAnt573 It can take a while to explain why I don't enjoy Fates, which is why I tried to simplify it as "I didn't have fun" (plus other words). Yes Fates makes things a little smoother with some of menu and UI changes, and the castle thingamajig is "cute". However...that's just it. Fates is at most a "cute" game when I think about Fire Emblem games. I can't take it seriously, nor do I have any real fun playing it. It's at most a nice novelty to play, but I don't get the same feeling I get with FE6-10 where the gameplay, story, characters, world, etc. all come together in a way that makes me wish to go back to them even long after I've beaten them. I know I'm being vague, but making lists is tiring and right now I have the flu =____=
@Syrek24
So just because I don't blindly conform to the standards set by the new generation of fans, I must be some old fart wearing light reddish hued spectacles huh?
1-5 I would agree are archaic (though 4 and 5 had certain aspects I find cool even today), however I find 6-10 FAR funner than the plop known as Awakening and Fates. Those two newer games surely add a lot to help newcomers but they also take a lot of steps backwards.
Go ahead and enjoy your new games. Your world must not be so tiny for you think that someone else who dislikes them must be a witch and burned, right?
Anyway if they ever make something that appeals to me again (which I highly doubt), I'll get it, but if it's just another Awakening or Farts, then no.
@Anti-Matter Not anymore if you choose. You can play Casual mode, where the characters come back after "dying" the next chapter or Phoenix mode will the characters will come back after "dying" the very next turn as if nothing had happened.
@IceAnt573 To put it in the simplest terms possible, it was boring/unappealing/uninteresting. I just didn't have any fun with the game whatsoever. Story, characters, gameplay, etc. Nothing about the game made me excited to insert it back into my 3DS to start playing again. Unlike the games before it, it just wasn't FUN. At least for me and my close friends who were also avid Fire Emblem fans prior to Awakening.
@PlywoodStick
A Gaiden remake is fine even if it's using the Awakening/Farts gameplay, since it's so old, but I wouldn't trust the current IS with remaking anything between 4 and 10. True all those games had minor issues that the current IS COULD fix, however they're more likely than not to introduce and take away things that would destroy those games as well.
EDIT: BTW, anyone else hoping this new game will be all 2D art/sprites? The 3D models in the 3DS games have all been rather...rubbish, so the new game would look best with modern spritework.
Really cool to see a remake/"reimagining"/whatever of FE2 as that game seems to be a bit underappreciated compared to the rest of the series, but if it has Awakening/Fates's gameplay I'll be passing.
Awwww it looks so cute. Looks like they managed to make the gameplay SOMEHOW even simpler than Awakening/Fates's barebones strategy gameplay.
I'll give it a download since it's free, but long term gameplay is unlikely as I get bored od mobile games quickly, even the good ones (though part of it is because I download a lot of games AND MY DAMNED SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 DOESN'T HAVE A DAMNED SD CARD SLOT). Can we get rid of unwanted characters and use them as exp or materials or something?
Ehhhhh, might pick this up for New3DS if the other non-Awakening and Fates lords are in the game (and if the lords from those two games can be ignored) and if the current localization team doesn't screw up their personalities which is a very real concern considering their rather awful track record.
But hey, if Nintendo really is serious FOR ONCE to support a previous gen handheld beyond its "standard" lifespan, then killing support for the OG 3DS hardware and making 3DS ports New 3DS exclusive from now on is a good idea. Gives them a tiny bit more oomph for porting games.
Looks like they simply ported the Vita version. Both are ARM-based handhelds, so I assume Vita-to-Switch ports are easier than XBone/PS4-to-Switch.
EDIT: Also, this comments section. Wow. We need to start a fundraiser to get EVERYONE here laser eye surgery. Contacts and glasses simply aren't enough to correct all this poor eyesight.
Japanese sounds best of course, though they all have a great old lady voice, except maybe Italian. English Deku tree and King of Hyrule(?) don't sound old enough, but every other language sounds good. Zelda sounds hysterical in all languages; English probably being the worst.
@DanteSolablood "this just shows the change from a HDD to flash memory really reduces the file size needed." The heck are you going on about? Storage type has absolutely no effect on file sizes.
Yeah not happening, the Switch will already have died by the time 2TB cards become available and would've had two successors by the time they were affordable. Meanwhile on other consoles, you don't have that issue.
Now that they'll only be supporting one machine going forward, all this BS is just Nintendo's new way of charging everyone up the bum to play their games. The Nintendo tax, everybody.
@Timppis I'm pretty sure you're mistaking 200 GB uSD cards for the 256 GB ones. 256 GB cards are still over $100,unless you're cautious enough to buy one from an eBay seller with a good reputation, as people who bought last year's Galaxy Note got the card for free with many of them choosing to auction them off on eBay. I got one myself from eBay, however I'm using it for my GPD Win, which will serve me far better than Nintendo's effort ever could. Though if course 256 GB fullsized SD cards are under $100, but those won't work here.
I'm fine with the screen res, as that'll help improve battery life, which is something that Nintendo has become absolutely horrible at doing nowadays. However that storage is just plain AWFUL. 32 internal is nowhere close to being enough and micro SD storage still isn't big enough for mainly digital gamers. Then again, Nintendo's sorry excuse for an "account system" will drive most people to do physical most of the time anyway.
Region-lock finally dead. Now all they need is a proper account system and they'll finally be halfway to catching up to the modern world in terms of features and restrictions.
@MadAdam81 That had better be true. Thing is, they were heavily showing Awakening and Fates stuff like they did with #FE being mostly Awaknening and Shadow Dragon, so I'm not getting my hopes up. Then again I probably won't get a Switch. Nothing that was shown makes me excited for it unfortunately.
I'm sure gameplay will be great, as I like Musou games, but....eh. If it were 10 years ago I would've LOVED a Fire Emblem Warriors, but now with the drab new characters and the way they butchered old characters with poor writing...eh. skip.
No hype or excitement at all, but I'll give it a watch. I'm more interested in how the existence of the Switch will affect Blanc, Rom, and Ram of the Neptune series from now on. As a side note, also interested in how Sony's abandonment of their handhelds will affect Uni.
@MysticX We all tend to give Nintendo too much credit. Yes they deserve it for making portable gaming popular in a relatively short amount of time, however even if they don't do it someone else will. It MIGHT HAVE taken longer to take root, but portable gaming likely still would've existed the way we know it now.
Lots of things coming to light about some of our gaming heroes. Seems like we have to thank the "little guys" a lot more for making gaming what it is now.

TBH, I've never heard of HORI making SD cards before. These are most likely rebranded cards from some other company.
Re: Official Hori Nintendo Switch Micro SD Cards Set a Handy Benchmark
@CB85
32 GB is still viable for people who just don't need that much storage, especially since they only cost $9 nowadays.
Re: Official Hori Nintendo Switch Micro SD Cards Set a Handy Benchmark

Go for Samsung or even PNY Elite. You'll get faster, cheaper, AND more storage than these rip offs.
