Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 For Switch?

LizardTaro

Nope. I will play in on my computer, using LEGAL emulation and my LEGALLY dumped copies of Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, in 4K resolution using a LEGAL 4K texture pack, using my ORIGINAL Nintendo Wii Remote and the Dolphin Bar.
...
You hear that, Nintendo? It's all LEGAL. You can't touch this. (but I'm sure you will try going after Dolphin emulator next, it's only a matter of time)

Btw. remember when Nintendo was selling the Metroid Prime Trilogy digitally for just €9.99 on Wii U? Good times. And a different Nintendo back then.

So, yeah, if you have any other means of playing these games, do it. They are masterpieces, especially Galaxy 2.

Re: Bubsy's Physical Switch Collection Pre-Orders Open Later This Week

LizardTaro

This looks amazing!! I want the Bubsy plushy!!

I wonder whether they used the NTSC or the PAL version of Bubsy 3D for the port. The PAL version had some slight differences and had no memory card support for some reason. Also, "Super Bubsy" (which is essentially the PC version of the Super Nintendo game) seems to be missing, alongside the cartoon pilot.

(btw. I bought Super Bubsy just to have the cartoon pilot in higher picture quality, but sadly the quality is just as bad as the YouTube upload)

Re: Review: Mario Golf: Super Rush - A Solid Swing, But Par For The Course

LizardTaro

I have seen a friend of mine play this game yesterday.

I will say it one last time: Camelot Software Planning isn't what it used to be. They peaked at the GC/GBA era and then everything went downhill...

This game only offers a fraction of content the previous games had. You can't play doubles. You can't play character matches and unlock star players that way. You can't play skins. You can't play ring shot. The incredibly fun "club slots" mode from Toadstool Tour and Advance Tour is also not in the game. There is no coin shoot. There is no "near-pin" mode. You can't even set the AI difficulty. It's absolutely bare-bones in every level and this should be explicitly stated in the review.

The animations are super boring and have been cut down to one positive animation, one neutral animation and one negative animation while all the other games had at least five unique animations per character. 6 courses is a laughably low amount. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 on the GameCube had 19 courses, just so you know.

The hud looks boring and the font is too tiny. Though that's a problem with many Nintendo games these days...

I can't say anything about the adventure mode and I don't care about Speed Golf and Battle Golf. I'm pretty sure the story mode does not even come close the one on the GBA.

I've been waiting for a new console Mario Golf since Toadstool Tour and seeing this junk is an insult; a punch in the face. Yes, it may get free course and character updates but even then the base game is so light on content that I can't justify paying €60 for it. And I hate the "release now, fill the gaps later" mentality.

Rant over, I'm out.

Re: Free Updates Will Add Additional Characters And Courses To Mario Golf: Super Rush

LizardTaro

So why the hell do they not put it into the game and release... you know... a COMPLETE game? 6 courses and the amount of characters are laughable for a 2021 release. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 on the GameCube had 19 (!!) courses, and that was released almost 20 years ago.

I mentioned it already, but I'll say it again: this is not the Camelot that it used to be. Seems like they are forced to shove in a shiny new gimmick with each iteration now... I don't care in the slightest for Speed Golf and am absolutely puzzled that modes like doubles, character matches, skins matches, ring shot, near-pin, coin shoot, club slots etc. all seem to be missing.

I'll probably buy it in a year or so, when the game is actually complete.

Re: 8BitDo Reveals Its New "Pro 2" Bluetooth Controller, Compatible With Switch

LizardTaro

I don't like Bluetooth. It never seems to work correctly on Windows. That's why I'm using a cheap no-name-controller with a wireless dongle. It connects immediately after turning the controller on.

The SN30Pro+ works fine on the Switch though. Turn the Switch on, then hold Y+Start for a few seconds. Let go of the buttons and after a couple seconds it should be recognized by the Switch.

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Tees Off On Switch This Summer

LizardTaro

Sadly not developed by EA. I liked the 2004, 2005 and 2006 games best - with fictional golfers that actually have personality, hilarious animations and amazing commentary. That is something that "The Golf Club 2019 feat. PGA Tour" sorely lacked. It is fine as a golf simulation but lacks everything that EA did right with the PGA Tour games. I hope that this one turns out to be more fun.

Re: Guide: How To Improve Your Switch's Internet Connection

LizardTaro

The Switch's WiFi module is absolute garbage. I never had problems with my Wii, Wii U or my PC. My Switch is the only device that has trouble connecting to my network. I actually have to take the Switch out of its dock, walk downstairs next to the router, then when the connection is established, walk upstairs again, put it back in the dock and hope that it holds the connection. Absolutely awful hardware design. Nintendo really wants to make sure you spend additional money on one of their official LAN adapters. Easy profit for them.
