Given the amazing success of the Switch – and the relative failure of its forerunner, the Wii U – it was almost inevitable that Nintendo would use its current console as a means of giving some of its better Wii U games a second chance at fame.
So far, we've seen the likes of Mario Kart 8, Pokkén Tournament, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, New Super Mario Bros. U, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE make the leap over to Switch, and that's not even mentioning the third-party titles which have also straddled the console generations – such as Rayman Legends, LEGO City: Undercover and Darksiders (1 and 2).
With rumours swirling around that we'll be seeing more Wii U ports arrive on Switch this year, we thought it might be a good idea to see which titles you're most keen to get your hands on. Below is a list of the games we think are most ripe for conversion (and, as you'll observe, they're not all solid-gold classics, because there's no accounting for taste or the actions of publishers looking for a quick buck), so simply place your vote for the game you really, really want to see on Switch.

Super Mario 3D World is arguably the greatest Mario game ever so it would be a shame if it didn't get a second chance. Xenoblade X would be nice too. Amused to see Amiibo Festival on the list.
Xenoblade X, aka the only title in the series I've liked. I'm really hoping it gets a port one of these days, because the idea of it being left as a exclusive to such a terrible console depresses me.
Other than that absolutely nothing of interest is left as far as the Wii U games themselves are concerned.
I really love Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and would like to see that ported to Switch.
Just a solid fun relaxing game.
Most wanted would be Xenoblade Chronicles X and the one I like which is most likely to appear is 3D World (don't think Mario Maker 2 would've gotten the 3D World theme if 3D World wasn't coming to Switch).
I want THIS game on Nintendo Switch also !!

I have no choice but choose the PS3 version since the game is Region Free on PS3 but doesn't have 4 additional tracks. The Wii U version is complete but Region Locked and i don't want to buy again Wii U Japan just only to play this game.
Release on Nintendo Switch and i will Double Dip both PS3 & Switch version.
Edit: Btw, unpopular choice but i voted Amiibo Festival 😅
3D World. C'mon Nintendo, we've been good.
Splinter Cell Blacklist please!
Preach, brothers and sisters, preach! We demand both a remake and a sequel, all the lingering questions that still haunt out dreams need answers!
If I can only pick one, it has to be Xenoblade Chronicles X. I still intend to finish it someday, and I would rather do so on the Switch.
I went with Mario 3D but it wasn’t easy leaving the zeldas and Pikmin 3 behind. We need all those back for sure.
None, as I've still got my Wii U hooked on to my telly.
Owned most of these so voted for something I didn’t get and would get if re-released (Twilight Princess HD)
But really I would say Pikmin 3 is most deserving of a second chance to be brought to the new audience.
3d world, Color Splash, and the Zelda are all that's left that I'd want. I think all but Color Splash will make their way over eventually. Almost pulled the trigger on getting a Wii U multiple times but in hindsight I'm glad I held off.
Release 3D World and Woolly World on Switch, and I will never need to plug in my Wii U ever again.
I still have a few games to go on the Wii U, and I'll get them on there anyway, because I'd much rather pay the 15 bucks they cost now than spend the full 60 bucks on a Switch rerelease.
But if I'd have to choose, a remaster of Xenoblade Chronicles X with bumped up visuals at 1080p and 60fps is the only one I'd double dip for.
Maybe the Zelda remakes but that's about it.
Super Mario 3D World is a bit of fun multiplayer game but is pretty boring as a single player experience so I have zero desire to play it again.
Xenoblade Chronicles X was terrible. Just leave it on the Wii U and focus on the main series.
Pikmin 3 fell short of my expectations, I didn't like The Wonderful 101 and never even bothered with Star Fox Zero and still probably wouldn't on the Switch.
All the Wii U games I cared about already have ports or sequels on the Switch.
Where's nintendoland?
That's the one for me.
All Pikmin games deservers to be on Switch.
ZombiU deserves a chance to be enjoyed by a wider audience. It is the absolute best survival horror game ever made.
XBX, so I can have all 3 on one system.
But otherwise, keep bringing them. The fewer reasons to have to fire up the clunky Wii U ever again, the better.
Deus Ex also good choice for Switch.
Way to force one choice. Oh well, then it's Xenoblade X - even though it isn't looming anywhere in sight with Monolith currently already doing the first game's port.
Some of the options I can live without since they're already portable enough - from NES Remix on 3DS to S&ASR Transformed on Vita. I do tend to throw such games to Switch wishlist if they're ported anyway, but I might ignore NES Remix (unless it adds notable new content) because redoing many of its challenges anew would be tedious. It's enough that the possibility of a whole new area (and possibly the restored Japanese voice option) is tempting me to invest in XCDE despite the ultraslim odds of a save transfer.
But stuff like Watch Dogs, Deus Ex, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101 or Twilight Princess? Shut up and take my money. Not that this mood does much for Nintendo - one company thankfully already rich enough to afford leaving my rotten fan money on the table if they so wish.
The more obvious like Pikmin and W101 aside, Project Zero needs to come to Switch. Whether it's a port of the last one (which could work great with totally reworked controls) or a collection of the earlier... Nintendo owns this IP and they refuse to actually do something with it...
Pikmin Trilogy plus I'd love to see Zombi. I loved Zombi U turned out to be one of my favourite survival horror games of all time, so yeah I'd like to see that and a sequel to it
3D World, Star Fox, Deus Ex, & Watchdogs for me.
Mario is pretty self explanatory and the other 3 fill some holes in the the Switch’s currently library. Also nice to have more game types/genres covered.
Not a wii game but a Nes game. Rygar! Not that terrible arcade version thats on the eshop but the real game!
@cowntsikin , When it got ported to PS4 and XBox it was called Zombi - so a straight port isn't that hard to do
Anything zelda is fine by me.
My first choice would be Pikmin 3, as it's an amazing game, but a port of it would just lessen the chances of Pikmin 4 actually coming out.
Woo! I'm part of the 1%!
...that want Sonic Lost World for Switch. ^^
Honestly, its the best Sonic game I've played in many years, but I don't own it myself, and having it for Switch would be grand.
I'd take them all!
But if I have to choose one, probably Xenoblade Chronicles X, as I haven't played that game and I love 1 and 2.
I’d like to see Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, The Wonderful 101, Paper Mario: Color Splash and Pikmin 3 get ported over the rest itd be nice but I can live without em’. If I had to pick just one it’d be Wind Waker, its short and easy but its also so charming its one of my favorite Zelda games.
I know that we got that 3ds port of Woolley World, but that never sat right with me. I’d love rerelease with all of the added 3ds content for Switch, Crafted World be darnded
Personally, I’d like to have Pikmin 3. That game was incredible. However, I voted for Xenoblade X. I never played it, but my wife would lose her mind if that came to Switch — her favorite game on the Wii U.
Nothing interesting, really. XCX, 3D World and Pikmin 3. Also, they should have HD versions of Pikmin 1 and 2 included with 3.
Definitely super Mario 3D world star fox zero but with proper controls it’s a great game but it’s completely ruined by its control scheme and twilight princess and wind waker are classics would love to see them both on switch
Why is Watch Dogs 1 on the list? Why not list Splinter Cell Blacklist too which were wonderful on Wii U and had some of the best Touch pad usage on Wii U.
I bought every one of these on Wii U. I bought 80-90 retails for Wii U.
If i still have to choose, it's only Project Zero, Starfox, Devil's Third and Pikmin 3.
Devil's Turd is the only game we need.
Fatal Frame 5 needs to be on the Switch. It'll be doomed to obscurity forever as a digital-only Wii U game that never saw any price drops.
Also, SM3DW feels like it was specifically designed to be on a hybrid platform. It's a perfect "pick up and play for five minutes" title.
NES Remix please!!!
None, I want new games: new IPs and sequels like Xenoblade Chronicles X-2, Super Luigi 3D World or Wonderful 102. If I want to replay an older title, there's an eBay where I can buy Wii U and some great titles for a low price. And I enjoy to play them in asymmetric TV+Gamepad mode as they initially intended.
@Ralizah Fatal Frame 5 is not digital only.
I own Special Edition with Steelbook, Plastic Cover, Cards, Poster and Art Book.
Proof:
http://dvd.amiga32.com/wii-u/projectzero-maidenofblackwater/projectzero.jpg
I'd rather see sequels than ports
@jump @Ventilator It was digital only in NA. And I'm pretty certain it has never received a price drop over here.
Also, the European physical was a very LE sort of thing.
Out of those Super Mario 3D World. It looks like a fun game. Boy... the Wii U is arguably the most unnecessary console from Nintendo they ever produced. Almost every must-have game has either gotten ported to the Switch or the 3DS.
@Ventilator
I remember that whole fiasco. Fatal Frame never came to NA physically — digital only. That was only in Europe and Japan if I recall correctly.
Even though Woolly World had a 3DS port, I would definitely love another chance to replay it on a HD console again. I liked it better than Crafted World and IMO the best Yoshi game in years.
I wouldnt be surprised if one of the main reasons for 3D World not appearing yet was because of the GamePad functionality in certain levels (from memory blowing to activate fans and i think tapping platforms) in certain 'optional levels). Perhaps implementing or devising a few changes takes time.
If I could only pick the one? Xenoblade no question.
But many of these I would like, Xenoblade, Mario 3D world, Pikmin 3 and all the Zelda titles. Paper Mario too, since I heard it was pretty good after all.
These are the ones I totally would buy. 100%. A few others I have fringe interest in, like some of those 3rd party shooters.
Not on the list, but something I’d enjoy would be a Nintendoland Deluxe. Maybe give it the full HD treatment and add a few news lands/events based on some of the popular Switch releases.
Xenoblade Chronicles X will only see a Switch port if a sequel is in the works. I'd say the chances are pretty good.
Wind Waker HD as I never got around to playing it on Wii U. Also would like to see Super Mario 3D World.
How could you only let us vote for 1?
When I saw all the ports happening, I sold my Wii U, figuring it was a safe move. Now I'm considering buying a Wii U for Xenoblade X, Wonderful 101 & Nintendo Land. I absolutely LOVED those 3 games and I really want to play them all again.
All of them. I still have a Wii u backlog im juggling with the switch. Still haven’t opened up Tokyo mirage sessionFE on the Wii u and it’s coming on the switch so a good savings
Xenoblade Chronicles X is the obvious answer for me but I'll also go nuts and say that Lost Reavers needs to be reworked and launched on a console with bigger player base.
Devil Third. Unironically.
Also a double pack with both TP and WW HD would be nice, I have some friends with a Switch that would like to play them, but don't have a Wii U.
And Paper Mario Color Splash deserve a second chance. I wouldn't buy it again personally, but it's amazing.
The Zelda titles, Mario 3D world, and most importantly, Pikmin 3. We need that game to not only grace the Switch but for an overwhelming amount of people to purchase it for two reasons; one to show Nintendo there is a market for it, and two to get Pikmin 4 (and possibly a proper remaster of 1 & 2 in 3's engine at least) out.
As for the Zelda titles, I'd rather have an anthology set. All 3D titles remastered in a brand new engine in one collector's edition set. Ocarina to Skyward, a man can dream.
Where’s the ‘all of the above’ option NL!!!!!
Never played Xenoblade but it sounds like I should!
So I have answer the questions with a resounding, “Pikmin!”
Btw my vote obviously went for Pikmin 3! Because the series needs some much needed love and attention. We can’t let the Pikmin die people!
Lost World makes the list but not Kirby!? That’s criminal.
A bunch of 3rd parties on there (like Sonic Lost World, Deux Ex) are pointless additions IMO because they're available elsewhere and on PC
Then there's Wooly World and Nes Remix that got a 3DS version
Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival should come back as an enhanced port (Add some actual gameplay elements to the board FFS. There's basically nothing to do but roll the dice) and make it free, as it was initially announced. Game is too lame to make anyone pay for it, seriously
Ruling these out, there isn't much left
3D World. It's wild it's not on the Switch already. It's a good Mario game with 4 player action, which seems fit for a switch where you can just hand over a control. x_x
Zombie U would be great! Very under appreciated game.
If pikmin 3 comes, we will never see a pikmin 4 on switch.
I want pikmin 4.
Please
I've voted The Wonderful 101 simply because I've never played the full game, but I remember being very intrigued by the Wii U demo when it came out. Also, people who voted Amiibo Festival... why?
@Franklin Rainbow Cursers band together. The real pink puff fans right here. Kirby Café bless
@Pluto14
Well, that was me voted Amiibo Festival. 😅
Amiibo Festival can be good on Switch as long the Amiibo Mandatory has been removed, added with more interesting mini games and call it Amiibo Festival Deluxe.
Oh, again. I voted the underdog games, not the popular games.
How about none? We've had plenty already. Shouldn't we be moving forward not back? If i wanna play old games I'll fire up one of my many past systems.
How can you not add The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword!
@Zeldafan79
Unless if the case like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Captain Toad Switch, etc. They are different games, unlike Wii U version.
I keep trying xenoblade x but just cant go back to it after 2. Would much rather they worked on number 3 than ported this across.
Pikmin 3 I would happily replay on a handheld
eh no where did this Emily Rogers specifically say these Wii U ports are coming this year also she could be 100% wrong
Yoshi's Woolly World, I would prefer it in HD than what we got on 3DS
I’d buy m all to be honest!
@Zulkarneyn
Nah if you ask for skyward sword everybody will be demanding the removal of the motion controls which if you played it you know that's impossible. It wouldn't be the same game anymore. You can't just put button inputs in place of angled sword swings.
None of them. I want NEW games. Especially new Mario sports games. I'm still waiting for a new Golf, Strikers, Baseball...
@Anti-Matter
Those games are barely anything different than they were on Wii U.
Voted for 3D Mario World. Twilight princess got already 3x a release... based on that my vote when to Mario 3D World. But of Course A Switch Twilight Princess HD remaster would be great too and all the others games as well
Wind Waker HD pleaseeeee
Xenoblade and the Zelda games. How obvious. 3-D world was good too.
This is probably not popular opinion but they should not port windwaker HD to switch. It’s the perfect port for the Wii U because it utilized the touch screen; something that originally was going to also happen with BOTW but they axed it for whatever reason. If the 20% who voted for it haven’t played it on Wii U then they’re missing out but since the switch has no additional screen I just wouldn’t see the switch version as something to rave about.
@Zeldafan79
Let's see...
Mario Kart 8 Wii U:
You can only get 1 item, the additional tracks are DLC, Battle Mode is a Racing style not the Normal Battle Mode, No Splatoon characters.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch:
You get ALL 48 tracks by Default, you can get 2 items instead 1 item, you get Splatoon characters by default, Battle Mode has been changed completely, support with LABO 01 & 03
Other Wii U port with Deluxe subtitle or not are different games. All contents in cartridge for Switch version, added with new contents Switch exclusive while the Wii U version dosn't have as complete as Switch version.
None. The Switch has enough overpriced $80 ports. Focus on new content.
@benj2687 Super Mario 3d world is definitely not the greatest ever, but probably the greatest multi-player Mario game ever.
Super Mario 3D World gets my vote, but I would love an expanded NES Remix collection. Maybe the NES Remix challenges can be incorporated into the NES Switch Online app.
@Nic-Noc20th-C Seriously, NintendoLand would be perfect for Switch. You'd just need at least two, and that's fine.
@Waluigifan Mario strikers would be great.
All of them.
i'm greedy.
XCX, TPHD and TWHD
Xenoblade X only for me, also Wii-U had watchdogs? I never knew.
I want 3D World, both Zelda HD remasters, Star Fox Zero, and Splinter Cell Blacklist.
I've never played Color Splash so I'd like that too.
I'd give them all up for a Mario Galaxy 1&2 remaster.
I'd skip WiiU and look out for Wii games. Super Mario Galaxy then. Easy choice.
No Mass Effect 3 "Special" edition?
Excite Truck. Why Not?
I already have a Wii U. New games, please.
Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water
And part 2 and 4 too please!
Star Fox Zero. I actually enjoyed that game.
Nintendo should inflict Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival on all Switch users. In fact, it should just appear on your console without the ability to delete just so everyone can experience exactly how crappy the Wii U's release cycle was at times.
I would love to see Starfox Zero get another shot without the cumbersome and counter intuitive motion controls...
Only 3 real options. For which 2 are probably going to happen; Super Mario 3D Land, and Pikimin 3 seem very likely.
Color Splash ... well ... I would rather see a Thousand Year Door remaster then.
Would probably most want star fox zero, hated it on the Wii u but just because of the controls would love to play it on switch with standard controls and better visuals
Only one? Wonderful 101. Best Platinum game ever.
NEW CONTENT PLEASE. If they were to bring 3d world to switch, I'd much rather have a 3d world sequel, since it was freaking amazing but for gods sake it is a 7 year old game, we had enough of it.
NES Remix as a prelude to SNES remix (and maybe N64 Remix)
@Anti-Matter I always wanted that game. But it was download only in North America, never fell from its $30 price point, and appear to be de-listed.
Zombie u reworked for co-op local and online and super Mario 3d world.
@PlusUltra If Zombie U were ported to Switch, it would most likely be the downgraded version for PC, PS4, Xbox One.
I’m personally very upset Star Fox Zero doesn’t have more votes. Yeah, I did not like the force-use of gyro controls for aiming etc., but it worked pretty well and was a cool idea (ala the gunner’s seat on the Millennium Falcon.)
But having to do both at points detracted from the fun flying and general chaos of the other parts. If they fixed that (completely removing the gyro aiming) I’d be all over it like I was with Wii U. Star Fox 64, as it is now, is the high water mark for me so if they can just expand that a bit...
Even an open-world flying/on foot hybrid style SF game would’ve good. And yes, I’ve played and very much enjoy Starlink x Star Fox!
Star Fox needs to stay an important Nintendo IP!
New games only please. I'm all ported out
@Ralizah Okay then. It may have been limited, but there were no problem getting physical on release, and after release here atleast.
I also bought Bayonetta 1+2 First Print Edition with Art Book, retail covers for both etc. back then limited to 15.300 copies.
@MoonKnight7 Yes, you are right. I forgot that.
Bayonetta 2 First Print Edition were EU and Japan only too. (15.300 copies worldwide) I also bought that one on release.
My hopes/dreams and picks would be: Wind Waker HD (really hoping!), Super Mario 3D World and Deus X: Human Revolution. While I'd thoroughly enjoy Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch.. and it's a type of game that would prosper on Switch, they're already bringing 1 over. I don't think they'd bring both over the same year.
@Ventilator Yeah you're probably right.
I would love to see both Star fox Zero and Devil's Third on Switch. Star fox without the gamepad implementation would be amazing. And Devil's Third for a more stable framerate. I honestly don't know how many actually played Devil's Third, but I thought it was a good game, but the framerate was really atrocious at times, and definitely its biggest downfall. Multiplayer was where the game really shined, but the playerbase wasn't there.
None. Why would I want to play inferior versions?
@Cheski that's the best idea. NES remix on NSO!
I’d rather have Skyward Sword than yet another release of TP and WW. But where’s my Mass Effect option?
None of them. What little I wanted from the Wii U’s paltry lineup is already here.
I'd like to see many of these games make the Switch, but I went with Xenoblade Chronicles X. The vast world of Mira is just begging to be visited by more gamers. The main plot is interesting, but the real meat of it is in the exploration, indigens (this world's lifeforms), and in some amazing side quests.
Plus, there's Skell combat. Who DOESN'T want to pilot a giant robot?!
Runners-up for me would be both Zelda entries.
I don’t get the people they keep saying “No ports. I played it on Wii U. We need new experiences”. The Wii U sold like 13 million consoles. The Switch is right around 50 million. So that means any ports would be new to nearly 75% of the Switch fan base.
Zelda Twilight Princess and Star Fox are the only ones I'm interested on. Mario 3D World may be cool too but Odyssey is better in every single way.
One game I didn’t get a chance to pick up on the Wii U was Xenoblade Chronicles X. Since Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is coming to the Switch, why not bring Xenoblade Chronicles X over? My second pick would have to be Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed. One of the best kart racers i’ve played. I wouldn’t mind if it was ported over to the Switch.
@spoon07 Agreed
@Supadav03 A brand new game would be new to one hundred percent of the Switch fan base. 100% is more than 75%.
Super Mario 3D World. Always wanted that one ported!
I never liked or managed to get 2D Mario, but this was the first Mario game I really enjoyed and would love to see ported!
Not a Wii U game but I would love to see Muramasa the Demon Blade make an appearance
I want to see these 2 games remade for the Nintendo Switch:
Super Mario 3D World
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Real men would have voted for Amiibo Festival.
Hard to pick just 1 unfortunately. Id love to see color splash( never played it), TP+WW, wonderful 101, Yoshis woolly world and 3d world all come over. If you HAD to twist my arm for only 1, I'd be on the fence for TP or WW. I voted WW but it's not higher than TP for me.
All of the above..... Nintendo Land , Pikmin 3 as well as 1&2, Starfox Zero, Mario 3D World Meowwww , Wonderful 101, Xenoblade, Yoshi Woolly world , Fatal Frame & Also the Wii Games of Fatal Frame. Windwaker & Twilight Princess , Mario Color Splash.
Just give us switch online with wiiu games.
I would actually like to see some wii games ported over to the switch. A Mario galaxy hd collection would be awesome! And I would love to see games like sonic colors, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, excitebots, kirby's epic yarn, metriod other m, metriod prime trilogy, sin & punishment.
Project Zero, if only because I never got to play it and we didn’t get a physical here in the US.
@redd214 are you though?since none of the games you've mentioned have come to Nintendo Switch.Maybe you should just buy a Wii U and those games.Since they're probably not coming
@Supadav03 If they want to play these games but didn't buy a Wii U, that's not my problem. The excess of Wii U ports has been a defining feature of the Switch, and that's not been good for someone like me who already played these games.
Ultimately, I feel like I'm not getting out of the Switch what so many other people are getting because the bulk of the games they're hyping I already played years ago on the Wii U.
I want NEW games, NEW experiences so I have something to judge the Switch itself by.
I wonder why people want a Wind Waker release for the third time.
I already bought it on GameCube and Wii U, and that's enough.
@Harmonie I totally agree. All the Wii U ports to Switch is just annoying and is why i waited over 2 years before i bought Switch. The worst thing is that Wii U ports costs more than they ever did on Wii U when they were NEW games.
If they sold the old ports for 20-30 bucks like loads of other devs do, it wouldn't matter.
Microsoft ports is either free or low priced. Microsoft never charge full price for old games.
They should skip those and make new games instead.
@First_Amendment yes I am. No point in dropping a couple hundred bucks for a handful of games on a dead platform. If they don't come I will survive but would like to play them. Thanks
@Ventilator Yeah, Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD aren't really anything special. They're just standard HD remasters. I know both games are fantastic, but neither HD remaster was worth the asking price. If they combined the two games into one package like other companies do with their own remasters and do frequent sales then they'd be a good deal. But this is Nintendo we're talking about. They charge a lot and enough people buy that they never will be held accountable for it.
@ChromaticDracula you say "stay" and I disagree I think it's taken a backseat ever since the Gamecube.Which I'm fine with since it's total sales across all it's game over all these years never have gone past 5 million.I'm kinda tired too of Star Fox Fans acting like it's this popular franchise when it's not.These are some of the same people that downplay Fire Emblem sales. when Fire Emblem has been around almost just as long and created much more sales and revenue and popularity.This comment isn't specific to you but to all Star Fox Fans who didn't show up to buy Starlink or Star Fox Zero yet they keep expecting Nintendo to have these games made.Like,even if you literally thought both games were bad then chicken or the egg whichever came first these games are not making money and yor lucky Nintendo even acknoledges Star Fox.
@redd214 Ok Zoomer
@m8e3point1415 Preach
I need a portable Wonderful 101. Beyond that XCX would also be amazing, and I'd take 3D World and Pikmin 3. And despite not being an exclusive, I'd rebuy Sonic and All Stars in a heartbeat... Assuming they allow local multiplayer with multiple Switches ala how the tablet worked.
So far every Wii U game that I almost bought the console for, has made this way to the Switch. Only Super Mario 3D World remains...
@Stu13 yeah Lost Reavers was fun although I don't see it getting ported but nice to see someone mention it.
@First_Amendment I mean, total sales is kinda a rude comparison when Star Fox has had so many fewer titles. Star Fox averaged more sales per title until very recently. Obviously, Fire Emblem blew past it thanks to Awakening, Fates and Three Houses. Oh, and I say this as someone who owns every Star Fox (and Starlink) other than an original SNES cartridges on your first point.
Xenoblade and WindWaker for me
I just wana say Sonic Lost World at 0% is proof that "Sonic was never good".
Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch with some tweaks to make the faces look more like the ones in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 would make my decade.
Xenoblade X feels the most deserving. The Wii U squandered on the potential for Multiplayer that it tried doing.if they take time to actually make it proper with co-op. It would be gorgeous.
W101 and that’s it. It could really take advantage of Switch advantages over Wii U and make a great game that much better.
Yoshi's Woolly World is so underrated and deserves a chance on Switch. Other than that, I'm hoping for the Zelda games.
W101 needs a lot of tweakings if it ever comes to Switch IMO.
@sevex I've heard that before from people who like Xenoblade Chronicles and 2 better than X .I don't agree I like how Xenoblade Chronoicles X looks and would have that remain the look and simply improve the visuals slightly
Would love to see xcx ,wonderful 101 en mario make the jump
NOTHING!!! Let the Wii U die with a shred of dignity!!
But seriously, the Devil's Third would be interesting on the Switch because of the much larger install base (and maybe the game would be produced in a greater amount this time...remember when it was selling for like $100?!?).
@First_Amendment I definitely prefer Xenoblade Chronicles X over the other two, but I just found the faces in 2 looked more pleasant than most of the grumpy looking faces in X. Some tweaks to the eyes and mouths might be enough though.
I'd love to see Twilight Princess and Wind Waker HD bundled together with a remaster of Skyward Sword. Besides that, Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Shame we can only vote for 1. To be fair, I think most of them should be on the Switch. Of course I voted Xenoblade X lol, but Deus Ex was fabulous (lost count how many times I've played through that game now lol). Both Zelda games are a must. Pikmin nuff said. Mario 3D World. Animal Crossing Amiib- ok ok, now I'm being silly.
Wind waker. My favourite game ever
Wind Waker HD. And 3D World as second.
This is all I have to say: None.
Personally I want fatal frame and the more obscure games as let’s face it, we all know were going to get the popular titles eventually
I never got the love for 3D World, I found it awkward to control (after pioneering analogue controls Nintendo decided to go back to essentially digital inputs for this game) and the camera was always too far away from Mario. In fairness it had some fairly inventive levels but I just never clicked with it. Now a remaster of Galaxy 2 with the pointing mapped to the gyro I'd be all over...
If it has to be another Wii U remaster, I'd like to see NES Remix (and I also want SNES Remix and N64 Remix too).
Wonderful 101 and a sequel.
I'd genuinely love them to remake Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival... but do it right this time. Get some actual gameplay, some multiplayer minigame mayhem... make it... I don't know.... fun?
@Richwalker13
Psst...
Amiibo Festival shouldn't use Amiibo as Mandatory usage even just want to start or continue the game.
If Amiibo Festival get ported, just remove that stupid Amiibo Mandatory.
@Shiryu only if they use a decent font size.
Paper Mario and Wonderful 101 from that list. Also Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, although that one would be a bit trickier to port over I suppose. Even though I already played the likes of Xenoblade X and Pikmin 3, I would love to see those port over to, less than 15 million people worldwide had a Wii U, no reason these games need to be stuck there.
Always wanted to give ZombiU a go.
Actually really want samus returns and fire emblem awakenings!
3d world, deus ex, twilight princess hd, nes remix pack
I’d take Mario 3D World and Pikmin 3.
Maybe Zelda if they were bundled together (which seems unlikely because Nintendo) and Wooly World. Not too fussed about them though.
All I want is thousand year door from GC!
Starfox zero deserves to be redone with better controls
Star fox zero should get another shot. The controls were a deal-breaker for me back then. And looking at the response for the game I was not alone in this. With the new controls it could still become the reboot they were hoping for.
@Supadav03
“ any ports would be new to nearly 75% of the Switch fan base.”
Don’t forget people who’ll double dip-that’s where portability comes in.
Also a port takes a lot less effort and money than a new game, meaning they don’t directly impact new game development.
These ports make total and utter sense.
@KryptoniteKrunch
“ less than 15 million people worldwide had a Wii U, no reason these games need to be stuck there.”
Exactly. No point leaving them stuck on a dead machine where they’re a waste of time and effort.
@Harmonie Atleast the Zelda's weren't full priced on Wii U, but we know each of them would cost 60$ each if they were ported to Switch.
Nintendo sold Donkey Kong for 30 bucks on release on Wii U. Years later the port is sold for 60 bucks.
When Nintendo makes collection's with games, you get incomplete games like NES Remix on Wii U.
Switch made Nintendo more greedy than ever.
Xenoblade Chronicles X > both Zeldas
Don't care about anything else, now that Tokyo Mirage is here
Would absolutely love Xenoblade X, but would also love the Zelda games, Star Fox and Mario also. NES Remix? Yes please. About time we got a new one, or perhaps SNES Remix!
Only one vote? Then I choose Xenoblade Chronicles X, even though I have it on WiiU. Otherwise I'd like to try The Wonderful 101.
@Daniel36 The port is terrible and downgraded, and should only be played on Wii U as it were designed for dual screen etc.
Xenoblade Chronicles X. I would play it again. It would great if we could import Wii U saves too...
Why only one vote?
Would like both Zelda’s, Xenoblade Chronicles, Pik-Min.
Would be interested to see W101 in Handheld, would also give Starfox ago, but they would need to do something with 2nd Screen gun feature
Wonderful 101
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Pikmin 3
Super Mario 3D World
NES Remix
Absolutely fantastic games! But I already have a them on my Wii U, so I voted Wonderful 101 to play handheld.
DRAGON QUEST X ONLINE
Xenoblade Chronicles X with full four player online co-op would be gold. I really enjoyed getting new armor and mechs, but it felt like a lonely mmo at times.
Mario 3D would be good, but more so for me Wind Waker, best 3D Zelda in my opinion and Deus Ex HR with the 2nd part also because I'm a huge fan on PC/other consoles.
I would most like to see Xenoblade X, but not just a port. There was a lot of content they had to cut due to time constraints. If they do this, I hope it's a special edition that adds all that.
Also, let Platinum make a Starfox sequel with less input from Nintendo. I want to see them go all out.
@benj2687 True that! The levels are so fun, and the fact that you can beat it with up to three friends is unbeatable. I've had so much fun playing this with my kids. Not the same with Odyssey. I hope they will make more four player Mario games in the future!
To be honest, I would rather stop with the Wii U ports. It's beginning to get to the point where having a Wii U is pointless, and that's a shame because it's an awesome system.
@Steel76 - If this isn't about that rumored Sunshine DS port moving to Switch, I dun wanna hear it!
Real talk though; Wonderful 101, Mario 3D World and Pikmin 3 are surpringingly absent by this point in the lifespan of the console. All will be welcome additions.
Xenoblade Chronicles X.
I just began it on WiiU, and I can already figure that it's a game so massive that I rather play it on a portable system. Why ? So I can play it everyday, that's why. I'm not sure I'll be able to finish it on a home console. On a portable, I've got a chance.
My most wanted Wii U game on Switch is definitely Super Mario 3D World. Though Wind Waker isn’t far behind. Yoshi’s Woolly World probably comes in third.
Though if we’re dropping the U and talking about Wii titles, then it’s the Galaxy games (obviously, I guess) by a country mile. Though I’d love Kirby’s Adventure, too!
I wanted to say W101 but for games I think would have a chance...Xenoblade Cross. That game is so massive I can't finish it on the tv. But the switch i can peck away at it.
If we don'tget pikmin 4, probably pikmin 3.. but i stil have my wiU here.. ,so no probs
@lacaras4 But.. wiiFit U!
Batman: Arkham City not on the list. 0/10 worst list ever.
I love DEVIL'S THIRD. The online multi-player was some of the best fun I have ever had. Motion controls would make it that much sweeter.
I'd rather we get ports of Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U, Splatoon, and Super Mario Maker
Devil's Third but it will never happen. My son and I had a blast online with this game.
Just put all of them on there. Well, most of them. And rather than ports just put them on some kind of digital Wii U BC service or whatever.
Hmm, Star Fox Zero with retro controls might be awesome, that or I bet Woolly World would be popular and more fun than Crafted World
I'm sick of Link, and Project Zero would likely get censored so I go with Super Mario 3D World easily.
none. no more. make new games please nintendo.
3d world with xenoblade x and paper Mario color splash also new remix but the 3d's one with that also she's remix would be cool too also star fox zero and sonic lost world but with dlc included not like the 3d's version with dlc
Would take about 75% of them!
I'd really love to see either Sonic and Sega-All Stars Racing or Sonic Worlds ported to the Switch or both, cos I'm considered a huge Sonic fan, even though the Legend of Zelda series was my 1st Nintendo series, I'd say enough with the Zelda games for Switch. Okay to be totally honest the only 2 Zelda games I'd like to see ported to the Switch are Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
Going with Fatal Frame because it was done dirty outside of Japan. Digital only save for an LE, the LE was only available in Europe, pitiful marketing (or SUPER SPOOPY if you will), and then it had the censorship nonsense as a final kick in the shin.
I dusted off my old Wii and Gamecube Controller to play Windwaker. And now, I hope it comes to Switch. I mean what's the alternative? Buy a Wii U?
Jeez Louise! I forgot Watch Dogs came to Wii U! Star Fox Zero with traditional controls would be sweet. Was a great game but the insistence on the duel screen thing ruined it. Super Mario 3D World is an obvious one. Just a matter of time really
I just spent $50 plus tax to download Fatal Frame yesterday on my Wii U, so there should be news of a physical Switch port for $40 any day now.
Must be the 1% who wants Devils Third again.
The multiplayer was excellent.
N64 virtual console please. Voted for Pikmin 3 from above.
I voted Yoshi's Wooly World
You can only pick one? How dumb is that.
The Mario Galaxy games should be released as a package.
Star Fox Zero should come across with controls fixed and levels either fixed, removed or added.
Metroid Prime Trilogy should be a must while we wait 2 years for MP4.
@benj2687
They're probably going to release it this year as their "annual Mario game", while they let other franchises shine a bit.
I wouldn't mind seeing "fixed" versions of Color Splash and Star Fox Zero. Both of those could've been really good if they weren't marred by some bad choices (i.e., only traditional Mario characters, tedious mechanics, confusing controls, etc.).
It's a real shame ZombiU didn't get the recognition it deserves.
Even if it comes to Switch in the form of the Xbox One/Playstation 4 "Zombi" ports, I'll be content. Fingers crossed it reignites interest for a sequel.
P.S. I love how nobody wants Sonic Lost World to be ported. It's definitely the last game on my list.
Only being able to choose one... I’ll go with XCX.
@Expa0 Ah, a terrible console that surpasses the Switch in all areas, even with half its features shut down Wii U online services are still more advanced.
Other games I want ported are:
-Star Fox Zero (I haven't played it yet)
-Devil's Third (great multiplayer even though I sucked at it)
-The Wonderful 101 (I only played the demo but it was good)
-Fatal Frame V (because why not?)
By the way, I think this poll should left out games that were already ports as half of the votes are going to Wind Waker H.D. and Twilight Princess H.D..
1. Paper Mario: Color Splash (Haven't played it)
2. Super Mario 3D World (because it's a great game)
3. Yoshi's Woolly World (because it's a great game)
I'd love to have others experience Xenoblade Chronicles X, Star Fox Zero, Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water, and the two Zelda HD remakes but everyone should experience them on Wii U where they are best. They can't possibly be recreated on Switch without several alterations and downgrades. It would be like Capcom's lazy ports. However, the three games I mentioned above are easy Switch ports without a gameplay loss so I vote for those. For the others you should buy a Wii U.
I can only pick one? Screw that. I pretty much want everything on the list except the 3rd party stuff I can get elsewhere. Nintendo is 100% leaving money on the table by not re-releasing all of their stuff - hell, Starfox might actually be good if it doesn't require awful Wii U gamepad controls.
I chose Pikmin 3, but I'd also love to see Xenoblade Chronicles X, Super Mario 3D World, The Wonderful 101, Twilight Princess HD, Wind Waker HD, and Deus Ex Human Revolution.
Some of them ("Wonderful 101," "Star Fox Zero," and "Xenoblade Chronicles X" at the very least) rely too much on the Wii U's GamePad to ever make for a decent port elsewhere (and "Pikmin 3" wouldn't play nearly as well in console mode without a touchscreen or IR pointer controls).
Out of those that remain, I vote for "Super Mario 3D World" and "Sonic...Racing Transformed," although I still wouldn't buy either one due to already owning the Wii U versions.
Mario 3D World is a given, I'm almost positive we will see a port on Switch sooner rather than later. That being said, it was a tough choice for me between Windwaker and Star Fox Zero. Windwaker is my favorite Zelda game and having the open sea on a handheld is an exciting prospect, but as you can probably tell I am a die hard Star Fox fan and Zero deserves another shot with a cleaned up control scheme and some added content. With all the hype surrounding its release, I feel the hampered controls are what really caused it to crash and burn.
Sadly, as Star Fox is rarely ever profitable for Nintendo, I really don't see this happening - as excited as it would make me. Maybe now that they got Star Fox 2 out in the public on both the SNES Classic and Switch Online, they can lean a bit more on an original non-linear traditional Star Fox game. Starlink comes close, but it needs more.
As you can tell from my profile picture, I really liked Devil's Third. You probably haven't played it, although you probably did hear it was garbage. It certainly had problems, many of them because it was built with Unreal for the Xbox 360 and PS3, but when it got switched to the Wii U, they had to jerry rig it because the Wii U didn't run Unreal. Since the Switch does run Unreal, a Switch port in theory, should run better than the Wii U version. They could also tweak the AI so the enemies don't always run straight into your gunfire like morons. But despite it's flaws, it was a fun game and with a little extra polish, I think it could be great. Plus the on-line was amazingly fun!
And it was 100X better than Star Fox Zero.
@Ventilator Hmmm... Well, maybe I can snag up a WiiU on the cheap someday... Not that I am in the market for it, ZombiiU was literally the only game that I had any interest in for the entirety of the WiiU era. But then again, I wasn't very mucn into gaming during that time to begin with.
DEUS EX would be amazing on the Switch, easily my Favourite Wii U game
I think a port of star fox zero cutting out all the troublesome mess with the gamepad would make it a rather good game!
@Daniel36
Unless you see one very cheap or are going to hack it to turn it into an Emulator box I honestly wouldn’t bother. Most of the good Wii U games are on the Switch in superior form. For those that aren’t you’re either buying a high price digital copy or at the mercy of the resale market. And the hardware itself is slow and clunky to use.
@Daniel36 There is other games that had great upgrades for Wii U too. Splinter Cell Blacklist is best on Wii U because whole gamepad is a spy gadget. (I also own Blacklist on PC, PS3 and XBox One/360)
Mass Effect 3 on Wii U is damn good. 9 of 11 DLC included in main game.
Deus Eux 3 remake were totally revamped for Wii U, and later ported from Wii U to PC and other consoles.
Need for Speed Most Wanted. Uses upgraded PC Assets and not last gen assets. So much Wii U exclusive features that the game looks like a Wii U exclusive.
There is many upgraded third party games for Wii U.
Project Zero 5/Fatal Frame 5 is a wonderful horror game and still Wii U exclusive.
Both Call of Duty games have custom features for Touch pad, local LAN Support etc.
These are some examples.
@aetios No it wouldn't. Star Fox Zero was terrible to its core. It was a jumbled mess of different play styles: on rails airplane, free flying airplane, on rails tank, free roaming tank, super boring gyrocopter, and everyone's favorite, the chicken walker. And it was a really short game, so even if you did like parts of it, you didn't get much of that specific style gameplay. And despite everything they tried to squeeze into a short game, everything felt weirdly hampered by its attempt to recreate a 90's game. So much of the game design felt way out of date.
If you want a new Star Fox game, pray they go back to the drawing boards. Re-releasing Zero would probably kill the franchise forever. At least on the Wii U, not many people had to suffer. With the Switch's success, you'd have millions of victim's cursing the name Fox McLeod.
@TheFox That's a real shame. I thought the main gripe was the gamepad. I'm still hoping for a new star fox game. My favourite one that I've played so far is 64. What a good game (despite the piss poor performance at times)
Excuse me, why is Call of Duty: Black Ops II not on this list? My personal favorite Wii U game, by far. Realistically, though, Activision won't put any Call of Duty on Switch except the latest unless it's a remaster, and they won't do BO2 before BO1. So... Yeah.
Batman Arkham City / Origins
It’s a shame that someone sold their previous console, only to re purchase the games that were on it for full retail.
@electrolite77 Wii U Games are very cheap right now, and the system has a lot more features than the switch
@Hoho
As I say, they’re expensive digitally or you’re buying from resellers. And I don’t know what you mean by ‘features’ but the Switch is more powerful, portable and has a vastly superior games library (along with a much faster OS). They’re the important features in my eyes.
Voted for Wonderful 101, but I'd also be interested in Pikmin 3, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess.
Wonderful 101 and Fatal Frame deserve a second chance with proper advertisement
to me super mario 3d world is more fun
@electrolite77 The switch is marginally more powerful, and it’s game’s library is marginally better(if that) with either quick and dirty ports of old games that are cheaper everywhere else , marginally improved remasters, or tame sequels (Splatoon 2, Smash Ultimate) or squandered New IPs (Labo, Arms, Octopath). The Wii U is cheaper, the games are cheaper(via eBay) has free online, full backwards Compatibility, virtual console, a better Eshop, better Daily Log, and other stupid things like Netflix.
The switch is portable and has Mario Odyssey(which is a baby game compared to other Mario’s) lets not forget it’s a brittle piece of garbage with terrible Joy Con controllers.
It’s true that the Wii U was only effectively supported for three years, but I’d take those three years over what the switch’s first three years
@Hoho
You’re right that Wii U has a better ‘Virtual Console’ as, despite a huge selection of Retro games, the Switch doesn’t have anything labelled that way. Apart from that the Switch is more powerful, portable, and has a much bigger and better library of games (many of which are at great prices from digital sales and shopping around retailers).
I’m just trying to save someone from a bad purchasing decision here. If you want to delude yourself the disastrous Wii U is in any way comparable (and the attempts to play down Smash and the like do sound a touch desperate) that’s your prerogative-some people think the Earth is flat after all. But please don’t waste other people’s money.
@electrolite77 Wii U was financial disastrous, but it has better original content than the switch, for way cheaper. Smash Ultimate is old stuff Rehashed, all its new content is locked behind DLC. The switch is comparable to the Xbox 360, just like the Wii U.
I'll take any of them except for that horrifying dead priestesses game.
As someone who never got their hands on a WIIU , I really don't mind any ports..
@ALinkttPresent What? Why?! I'm playing that game now and it's quite good. Although I think it would really loose a lot of it's appeal without the game pad acting as a camera.
@Zeldafan79 But motion controls still exist with the Switch? Why remove anything? Just make it shinny and give it too use
@Zulkarneyn
I suppose if they could emulate wii Motion plus it should work but there's still those few people accusing skyward sword of having bad controls when in fact they were doing it wrong. I admit i had trouble rolling bombs at first but after a while i realized i was swinging too hard.
Need for Speed Most Wanted please. Or better a Split/Second port.
Wonderful 101 without a doubt. One of my all time favorites and I would love to ditch the annoying Gamepad functionality it had.
Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Xenoblade X, and the Zeldas would all be welcome too. I'd even be down for Star Fox Zero as I actually liked that game. But Wonderful 101 deserves it imo and has the most to gain from a port.
@benj2687
Mario 3D World makes more sense to bring over than New Super Mario Bros U. However it was an incredibly safe game, so unless they added online multiplayer I don't really care one way or the other if it ever shows us
A lot of these games I love and have for my Wii U. I'm sad the Wii U didn't get the chance it deserved. In the poll I voted for Paper Mario Color Splash as that's one of my favorite games ever. But, there are plenty of other games I'd love to see on the Switch. Might change my mind about wanting to buy one. I'm all about my Wii U right now. I'd love to see games like Pikmin 1, 2, and 3, New Super Mario & Luigi U, Super Mario 3d World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Splatoon, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Yoshi's Wooly World, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Guitar Hero, Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends....so many great games for both the Wii and Wii U. I did list games for both systems. I'd even love to see games for the N64 and Gamecube on there. Being that the Switch has so much power apparently, I'd love to see games from all Nintendo systems.
OK a good amount of these have since been announced, so I picked Wind Waker... though they only ALMOST got the camera options right. Thankfully you can set the x-axis to the original setting, but I believe that affects the the first person camera as well, which is super unnatural and not how it was originally... they allow for y-axis inversion for first person mode, why not x axis? Why do third and first person modes have to be linked? Give me independent options, or just keep it like the original game dang it!
BOTW has the same quirky problem. I hate it, but I struggle through neither motion controls in first person. Clunky but better then backwards controls...
