@Gamer83 Same. Genesis kid that got into SNES late into 16 bit. I was all about action games, and really did not like RPGs. Then I played FFVI, and realized there was a whole world of games I wrote off. Good stuff.
I was sitting here thinking about a game I missed out on recently, and all this gba talk reminded me of Pipistrello. Awesome. The GBA is one of my favorite consoles of all time.
I don't have a dog in the fight w Nintendo and probably won't until at least an OLED Switch 2 is out for a while. I'm expecting a wholllllle lot of old games running at 20-40 fps.
@rvcolem1 I was surprised at how cool Syndicate was, w the 60 fps patch. Story is nonsense but it's the only AC besides Origins that held my attention for longer than a few hours. Constantly moving train hideout is what's up.
I think the only thing attractive about this game is that it looks like what Pokemon should have looked on the GameCube, and I really like GameCube.
Then again, I was very unimpressed w Arceus.
Yeah I know I always say the same sh*t about these games, but if they're not going to try, why should I?
@AG_Awesome That investment actually had a return though. No amount of support will propel Mario Party into the kind of cultural zeitgeist Mario Kart enjoys. Thank God.
This series is like the Etsy airbrushed fan art version of Zelda. Or just basically current Sonic. The butt rock version of something with self respect.
Yeah I'll watch that trash, 100%. It's annoying that they don't understand how hype casting JCVD would be. There's some signs here that they don't get it. MK 1 and 2 are steeped in Shaw Bros martial arts cheese. This looks fun, but it also looks like they don't get it.
I have a case for my Switch. It has enough space to store 8 games. At home, my games are on a shelf, and I just need to get up and put the game in the cartridge slot to play it. Are you guys really bringing your console around w you without a case? I don't see how carts are in any way "inconvenient" otherwise. The solutions are out there, my brothers and sisters.
You ever date someone that accused you of cheating so much, you figured "I mean I might as well be cheating?" That's my mindset here. They already accuse you of being a thief w online requirements for their shoddy emulation and threaten to brick your console if they sniff out the wrong kind of cart in the system you just bought. I never emulate anything current, but yeah I'll be taking those GCN ROMs all I please, thanks.
I'm playing a Quake mod called Arcane Dimensions and THPS3 on the Retroid. AD made me smile and say "wow this is amazing" more than a few times. It gets really sweaty, but the gyro works wonders. Can't recommend it enough.
@MeatSauce I have been wondering if anyone else is interested in seeing these changes. I still think it was the wrong decision, even as a THPS4 hater. For all the reasons you said, basically. THPS were peak arcade style games, imo. The VA ESPECIALLY hurt, but I usually prefer to read anyway.
@Kiliomp bro have you any clue the things that happen in the average video game? Did you know that mushrooms don't akshuallee make you into a giant version of yourself that can break bricks by jumping into them? If you jump to the top of a flagpole, slide down to the bottom, fireworks won't go off and musical fanfare probably will not play as you march triumphantly to a castle.
@dugan ALBW is a really fun example for you to cite as a highpoint. I loved it, but so many people lost it because of item rental, etc. People said it lacked charm/heart.
4 saw me drop out of the series, after 3 being one of my favorite games ever ever... but I still side w the preservationists here. I am excited to see the changes, personally, but it was a lame decision.
It's so strange to me that the incredible music in the OG games morphed into embarrassing butt rock. I guess a similar thing happened with the characters. Once they started speaking, I was out.

@Gamer83 I can't wait for Shinobi. That's a dream game to me.

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Announced For Tomorrow, 31st July 2025
@batmanbud2 This is something I hear about more than I ever see Silksong fans being annoying. Same w people that complain about Undertale fans...

Re: Whoops, It Looks Like Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection's Release Date Has Leaked Early
@Kidfunkadelic83 yeah you basically need to exploit the AI. It's annoying. The games deserve better.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Will Be Playable At Gamescom 2025
I hope it's great. HK is an all-time great.
Re: 'Toree Saturn' For Switch Locks In August Launch
@Bobb And like you have to press buttons and actually move the character every now and then.
Re: Whoops, It Looks Like Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection's Release Date Has Leaked Early
Put IX on it please. The first three and IX are all I really want. Or a proper release of MK2 Remix.
Re: Review: Tales Of The Shire: A The Lord Of The Rings Game (Switch) - The Hobbit, Or "There It Crashed Again"
About the most predictable review I've read recently.
Re: Ubisoft Reportedly Cancels Star Wars Outlaws Sequel
@purple_shyguy I thought that was the pirate thing they said that about...
Re: Scott Pilgrim EX Brings More Beat 'Em Up Action To Switch In "Early 2026"
@axelhander It was also great music and animation. If you don't come to vide games for that, I don't get you, lol.
Re: Scott Pilgrim EX Brings More Beat 'Em Up Action To Switch In "Early 2026"
Whyyyyyyyy with the static, plywood set in a damned B movie backgrounds? I know it bothers me more than most, but that's a no from me, dawg.
Re: 'The Knightling' Has Gone Gold, But The Switch Version Has Been Axed
The combat looks like it lacks any kind of impact.

Don't worry guys. This is the one they will totally put effort into.
Re: Ubisoft Reportedly Cancels Star Wars Outlaws Sequel
@rvcolem1 No problem there! I think Black Flag is wildly overrated, and the games usually play terribly.

Re: Ubisoft Reportedly Cancels Star Wars Outlaws Sequel
I started it, it ran really bad on PS5, and I just couldn't get down with the cookie cutter Ubisoft Ubergame.

Re: Review: Shadow Labyrinth - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Sometimes 'Good Enough' Is Just That
@JokerCK whhhhhoooooa. Treason. I got HK for $12 and felt like I was getting away with a crime. I played it for like 125 hours. That game is magical.
Re: Review: Shadow Labyrinth - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - Sometimes 'Good Enough' Is Just That
This gives me strong Bomberman Zero vibes. I'm not writing it off though. Still looks fun. Just a bit edgy.

@Dalamar at least they have real names in the credits nowadays.
Re: 'Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced' Announced For Switch
