Rayman Legends is one of the first games my six year old got into, around when he was three or so. When we got the Rayman bot in Astro, he started singing Black Betty. It warmed my heart (as most things Astro Bot tend to do). I was really glad he retained some of that.

I was surprised at how bad performance was on PS5 so yeah that pans out.

Totally forgot about DQ Builders. My six year old would lose it over that game. I appreciate the reminder.

@rvcolem1 Most of the early 2D stuff is charming enough. They locked up Yuji Naka for the rest of it.

High on Life is insufferable. I couldn't stand it for more than a few hours. I don't understand why everyone and every THING in that game felt the need to remark on whatever was happening on screen when 70% of their dialogue is "Um, uhhh, so, eh, ummm...." STFU

I don't have much skin in the game since I'm not getting a Switch 2 until they release an OLED and a first-party game I can't live without...but MP4 this year would make it a pretty damned great launch year. I don't think anything will beat Odyssey and BotW in the same year...

Yes! This is an excellent Ys game, and I still bring out the Vita every now and then to play it. Highly recommended to anyone who has not tried the series. The games are mostly self-contained and often retread the same themes and story beats. That's all there to get to the action and locations, imo.
And some others, even, would argue all THAT is just there to serve the amazing music, lol.

I'm going with Shinobi. Streets of Rage 4 is one of the best games ever ever, and Shinobi 3 is top-tier Genesis action. Grabbing iiiiiiiit....now.

The first thing I do in these Sonic racing games is turn off character voices. And if it's like Sonic's Butt Rock era, the music is next.

I'm expecting some expansion to Wonder or maybe even Odyssey that twist arms to get a Switch 2. I don't know, I really hope it's cool. W Nintendo nowadays I almost expect a mobile game...

I doubt it will be solid enough not to get a few sizeable patches, so eh.

@Solomon_Rambling it's up there w my favorite games. It passed through very few hands in development, and it shows. It sold like 15 million copies, so I'm sure Team Cherry is cool with it being divisive. I love it but it's not like I don't get why it would not land with everyone.

When HK was out, I used to play it while rocking my little dude in his bouncy chair w my foot. Now he is going to be seven and in to first grade. Nuts.

Dusk, Prodeus, Project Warlock, everything Nightdive (new episodes on a ton of them, they count), Turbo Overkill, Victory Heat Rally, Vernal Edge, etc etc etc.

I always start a Souls game and get overwhelmed by the amount of lore that eludes me. I'm a guy that likes more questions than answers in most of my fiction too, lol. It's too much.

It looks great. Honestly, if MP4 makes it out this year, that's a pretty great launch year for the Switch 2...at least in so far as first-party games (and only first-party games) are concerned.

@Ks123 HK gets incredible once you get a bunch of badges and start making builds for different situations. There's a lot more but I'm not spoiling anything.

I'm the biggest Switch 2/Nintendo hater rn....but just like Banaza, anyone saying this doesn't look like a blast either just dislikes arcade racers, dislikes Kirby, or is being dishonest. This looks incredible.
...just maybe more of a $50-60 kind of "incredible."

@SirLink Oh, yeah, makes sense. I just try to get the things I really want from them when they produce something cool. But I've missed out and gotten annoyed before so I get it.

LEGO DC Villains was a better Suicide Squad game than Suicide Squad, so yeah it pans out that this would be a decent alternative to an Arkham game.
...it really was. If you have kids especially. Way better than it had any right to be.

Looks like about $50 worth of cool.

The game key card/digital game card thing is much more nefarious than people might think, imo. Digital games now have the same icon above them as the physical cart in the Switch, so it's more convenient to look in the slot than to go through your library if you don't remember what cart is in. They also play an animation that shows a digital cart going into the Switch when you first purchase it. They're trying to blur the line between digital and physical, and doing a bad job at it too.

I didn't play much of it. Maybe a few hours. I should try it again.

@VoidofLight fan games outside of Pokemon. I played Uranium or something like that, insofar as the fan games. But, just like mainline Pokemon games developed by the people with the most money ever ever, I'm sure the fan games DO suck. I mean...look what they're working with, lol.
