@The_Nintendo_Pedant I had a collection from my first NES that I got when I was four, through being a big importer during the Saturn/PS1 era, up to when I was managing a Game Crazy. My ex-wife sold all of it for $100 bucks while I was deployed in the ARMY.
EX wife.
So that's one reason I am collecting again. I missed it. But mainly I just want to give my games to my kids some day.

With games like this, I get them digital day one then pick up a physical copy if a complete edition is released. Usually, games I am that interested in are in the $20-30 range anyway.

Hoping for a complete physical edition. Currently on Ragebound. Excellent game.

@Luigia Ragebound is much more a speed run/score chase game. I get hit once and start the level over. Shinobi is all about sporting on enemies like a character action game and has more of an emphasis on exploration. Its hard to choose one over the other, but Ragebound has been more my speed so far.

@MARl0 not only preferable, but they could do something iconic like Simlish or the BK babbling you mentioned. Pokémon doesn't feel like a world. It feels like a commercial.

A score that reflects the written review for a Pokémon game is tantamount to outright revolution. No Nidokings.

@molkom sure thing! I am older and have low tolerance for things like stats anymore, so that may have something to do with it. Still think it is my fave in the series so far, but I only really like Syndicate and Origins anyway so shrug

@molkom For example, I got the game because it was $40 on PS5. I know my reasoning is silly to most, but I got it when they added the ability to wait until night. I am made of snakes that hate the sun... Anyway! I am around 16 hours in, and still haven't been able to upgrade the part of my hideout that I need to in order to wait until night. I am not a fan of colored, tiered loot either. I'd rather just get a few cool weapons and strengthen them with relics or training or new moves or whatever.
I am still having a great time. I just am not sure I will make it all the way through.

It is pretty, I like sneaking around and taking fools out, but MAN is it bloated.

@Jhena its AWESOME! Huge learning curve on controls, like Virtual On or Gun Valkyrie. But once it clicks it feels great and like nothing else.

I thought the pacing was too broken up by the tiny enemies all over the screen, but its worth the annoyance, mostly. Just frustrating.

Even besides my disdain for these two games (camera bad, waggle bad, yes I know everyone disagrees), they don't function correctly in handheld.

@benmalsky198 I don't like the furry-esque designs, their voices, their anime story arcs, etc etc etc. The music in the modern games is also just not for me. Especially when compared to Sonic 1-Sonic CD.

The prices are ridiculous, and I am the outlier that thinks they're bad games. The gravity/planetoid gimmick is interesting enough for like Sonic bonus levels, but not enough to justify the awful camera and controls. All of this is compounded by the Switch port being nonfunctional. They sacrificed the controls to the point of ruining the games, for waggle. Then they port it with the waggle broken.
I know most people love them, and I have tried to enjoy them since they came out. It's the biggest example of a game I can think of that skates by on fandom.
